Thanks for the episode TDA. Always good to see other ways of doing things!
For my regular playthroughs, I find it a lot of effort to setup a power planet like this. However, bear in mind you already spend a lot of effort creating a dyson sphere. My thoughts are to reuse that effort and use the antimatter it generates to create antimatter fuel rods, then ship those round the galaxy and burn using artificial stars. OK, you do have to be slightly further along the tech tree, but you usually are by the time you need this much power...

Love these bonus episodes, any chance you can remake the early blueprints so they are less buildings and are more step by step? All good if not, keep it up!

Could you do a walkthrough for the mission impossible achievement? I use all your blueprints, but I’m never as fast as you. Under 10 hours is a very big challenge.

I'm cericksen on twitch. I have plans linked in the description that allow me to win in 8ish hours over 20 times.

Check twitch during the summer. I'll show you how.

I’m doing that now, with the 10h Speedrun Guide on Steam.
The key seems to be to take it in short bursts, do each stage over-and-over until reaching the designated milestone. While it’s a speedrun, nothing says that we have to do it all in one hit.
      So I’m save-scumming a lot lol

This achievement is not that hard, but it *is* a bit tedious. What you want to do is first of all find a nice seed that has all the basic materials close (and disable the dark fog of course).
Then get a tiny bit of all materials going as soon as you can, so you can unlock blueprints. From there, you want to plan your next few build, blueprint it, reload, and then place it down again. While you're building it, make sure you're crafting the buildings you need for the next step.
Personally I don't really enjoy this type of achievement as the optimal strategy feels a bit like cheating. Still, it's very doable.

It is quite tedious - especially when you don't have much time for playing. Trying to fix all the mistakes from the last save and continue progress towards the next waypoint takes some serious focus.
I would much rather do a normal relaxed playthrough.

There a sound edit gone wrong at 18s that you probably want to fix.

You covered a station that charges the accumulators, but not the half that discharges them? Also If you are going to cover accumulators should you not discuss how you make sure a network is not clogged up by new production?

    • @Yardiff
      @Yardiff 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

I did some testing, it looks like:
      * discharge of an accumulator is instant (dumps all the charge into the building)
      * the building feeds the grid at 54mw maximum rate (as needed)
      * 540mw when fully charged, so 10 seconds at maximum power
      * the building ignores local production of wind/solar (didn’t test geothermal)
      * local thermal/fusion/antimatter ramps down energy production in favor of the discharge)
So 200 accumulators will produce 54mw for 2000 seconds, do the math for multiple dischargers.
Which given that a decent Dark Fog core tap probably provides 20-30mw without shuttling stuff around - drat, there doesn’t seem a lot of point to accumulator transfer.
I guess side-load accumulator production directly into the belt of empties getting charged. If we want to bother much.
Thank you TDA, very interesting. :)

@@Yardiff I only use accumulators for the initial burst landfall IPL hubs, and to provide a steady stream while I build out local power in a new system. I've never tried to take it late game.
