    The stations do not show up on the same planet because everything on the local planet is under local demand and local supply which uses the old routing system. The new changes only work when set to remote demand and remote supply

    Now we need priority groupping with Orbital collectors as well.
    Like I would prefer Fire ice from Ice giants first, but Hydrogen from excess output first.

      Yeah, that's the problem I've been wondering about. You can sort of do this by setting most of the ILS to not get things from collectors, and then set a few with that turned on and use the priority system from there, though, can't you?

    I don't care for the belt twisting, but one tooltip I do like is the altitude tooltip. When you're running a belt and up or down arrow, it will tell you what the height is. Not always useful, but if you have floating belts it helps to know what level you are on.

    Belt tilting allows for even more interesting belt mechanics for space saving reasons, and belt weaving reasons. The hitboxes on belts are incredibly flexible and in some cases downright cheaty. In any case I'm eager to see what additional compact designs people come up with.

      I wish stacked splitters could just be linked vertically to create elevators/mass merger/splitter towers.

    Thank you for your explanation!
    Side story, years ago I made a draft blueprint of a nilaustv dyson shell. Cool to see you had the same idea, I hope it works out! (i don't think i ever finished my dyson sphere)

    Simply, it's 3-different layers/types of priority settings. An ILS that has any kind of priority set will always prioritize the ILS(es) that it has set for it when determining where to go for its resources.
    With 3 layers, you can tier this such that you can have 3 "first picks", in order of priority before the ILS starts searching every single ILS in your cluster. Point-to-Point ILS is a two-way priority between two ILSs and the top layer, meaning two ILS's that have Point to Point priority will always take or give to one another first before anything else (if you have several pairings, it'll choose more or less at random like pre-patch). This is ideal when you have an ILS that you want to make sure is *always* being emptied or filled ASAP before any other one, by PtPing it with the other ILS' that want what it has or has what it wants (Such as Nilaus' Darkfog farm ILS, that he wants emptied out as much as possible to prevent buffer overflow)
    Interstellar routes are planet-scale priorities that affect all ILS on a planet in regards to a particular resource, which is very handy when you have specialized planets producing or requesting alot of a particular resource and you want to make sure that resource is always being served to some other planet first before any other- which as Nilaus' pointed out is very handy for keeping resources local-first before exporting.
    The third layer, Group, is just PtP again except it always includes all ILSes in the group- which functions the same as having a PtP on each ILS in that group to every other ILS in that group. A general time-saver, but also lower-priority than both PtP and routes which lets you give tertiary-picks for ILSs which is handy when you have an absolute *ton* of ILS' providing a given resource and you want to make sure ILS that are closer to together are pulling from those other nearby ones first. Or you want to make sure that a small number of ILS are getting first-dibs on a particular resource

    • @dicerson9976
      @dicerson9976 27 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      An example that I would use would be this
      -Every ILS in a given solar system is in a group with every other ILS in that system, that way ILS' always source locally first before spending time and warpers to pull somewhere else
      -If a particular resource is being mass-produced in multiple locations, and I want to make sure a specific planet is getting first dibs on it, I set up a route for that resource between those planets.
      -If a particular *station* needs to be kept full or empty, I'll set up a PtP for it to one or more other stations to make sure those stations are keeping the particular station that way.

    I think Blueprints should have an option both when creating the blueprint and when placing down a blueprint. Like a toggle switch "maintain ILS Priority and Name settings" or "Clear ILS Priority and Name Settings"

    Oooooh, the potential to overcomplicate things! I love it!
    Joking aside, this is awesome for when you get to the megabase stage, so that you can properly tie things up, and now there's finally as reason for the feature of naming your logistics stations, hahaha.

    Interesting improvement. I have to wonder if they're starting to set the stage for more fully separating Planetary logistics from Interplanetary logistics.
    Seems like it needs a few more tweeks/tuning, but should be a great improvement to the game.

  • @MarekGamer76
    @MarekGamer76 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

    This is a good start, but they need to significantly enhance the overall control of logistics paths, between Intersteller and Planetary. This is essentially the real main bus of this game and the core of the logistical management. Per item pairing, rate limits, minimum thresholds for planetary and inter-planetary, etc. When building a production line, ratios are carefully calculated, you need the ability to feed the distributed production hubs at precise rates.

    I hope they add planetary controls too.

    Again a very powerful update. I have been silently cursing on this lacking up until now. NICE !
    This indeed is a nice solution to separating farms from regular production/mining.
    I see there is also a provision to create a hub-spoke system for your distribution network.

    I need to play with it, but I'm definitely interested in how to use the new Pairing / Prioritization for Fireice, Hydrogen & Deuterium consumption. Mainly to prioritize consumption of Hydrogen byproducts first and Gas Giant Hydrogen second, but also to prioritize Gas Giant FireIce & Deuterium first and mined or Fractionated Deuterium second.
    Do the Gas Giant collectors also have the new Priority screen? If so, that would be another BIG headache to hit 40 of those per gas giant....

    the belt angling looks like its to just tweek a specific part. lets you squeeze that third output into your space without rebuilding a bunch to make things fit. its one of those features thats really nice when you need it, if you remember its there.

  • @HelicopterShark
    @HelicopterShark 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

    @10:40 Local supply demand ignore the priority settings so as long as you have a local PLS or ILS providing warmers locally it will work in this case as you are requesting locally. even with the "Exclusive" mode on. For this reason In the specific example you gave I would NOT put the local supply on the unipolar. Instead have them purely go out via a belt to feed your buffer via a low priority splitter. Only taking from the Mined unipolar supply IF there is nothing in the built up Buffer boxes or the ILS's taking from the farms

    I started using this to manage hydrogen better. My biggest issue was pulling hydrogen from an Orbital Collector on the other side of the galaxy rather than the ILS in the same solar system. It's a real pain to setup though, no copy/paste. I'm hoping that they add some more features to this but will definitely help on new games where I would setup as I go. I'd spend days going to everything setting it up in an existing playthrough at endgame. Or they could just add a void/auto-delete-on-full option.

    Thanks for the explanation. The blog looked very promising, but also very confusing without trying it out. Then after the patch dropped, I have completely missed the priority settings tab in ILS, and I wondered where all the settings are.

    I would think you could use this to prevent hydrogen from backing up also (in the same way as for the dark fog farm). Get it to use excess hydrogen before taking it from a gas giant.

    Hey @Nilaus, Can I just mention that theres is a mistake in one of your blueprints. Its in the New Early Hub/#01 Circuits + Coils. On the second assembler that makes magnetic coils, the sorter is trying to put iron ore from the Belt into the machine. In stead of the magnet of the smelter. Maybe that has already been fixed. It has been a while since i grabbed your blueprints. In which case feel free to delete my comment. And thanks for all those blueprints

    Why use Exclusive pairing for Dark Fog? If we use priority, and we’re using them at least as quick as they are collected at Dark Fog base, then we should be always emptying it. And if we’re not using them as fast, then the dark fog base will stall even if it has exclusive pairing. Am I missing something?

  • @fare-5174

    If the solar sails are regularly shooting out at the sun, does it mean that the route demand is always up so the supplier is unable to fulfill other requests because its vessels are constantly moving the sails in-system?

  • @Dragonmaster022783
    @Dragonmaster022783 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

    They dont show up on the same planet due to using the local settings. As far as i'm aware, ILS's dont vessel communicate with each other on the same planet in the first place (i.e it wont send an iron ore remote Supply to an iron ore remote demand on the same planet)

  • @lwo7736

    I feel like they should combine the PLS and the ILS into one single building that you use research to unlock its full potential, like it starts off just veing able to receive and send one item, pretty niche and useless, but if you invest in the research its power unlocks slowly. Currently i think it towers, pun intended, over all over forms of logistics. Its too powerful. Its too towerful.

    Exclusive doesnt work the way you said it does. Its NOT exclusive between stations. It will very much go outside of those 2 stations if something is closer.

    @chemie7037 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I do not see a lot of use for this. The only case that annoys me is H2 from collectors when the ships go half way across the galaxy instead of the gas giant in their own system. You can't set collectors so useless except maybe groups in niche cases. Honestly, I never had an issue with the route ships used.

    So many changes and you still cannot prioritize local sources (like Advanced Mining Machine) over outside ones.

    • @christianmartens9697

      If you set the carrying capacity of the drones at your local sources (mining stations, logistics stations, etc) to be lower than the carrying capacity of your interplanetary stations, the game will prioritize consuming local resources first.
