Excellent tutorial! I purchased this item on Amazon for the purpose of opening a door latch with a 3-second 12v pulse once every 24 hours. From your description either P5 or P6 will do this after an initial trigger using 1440 minutes as my loop time. Please tell me I'm correct. The purpose for this is to open the door on my chicken coop every morning at 8AM... Thanks!

Thank you for the detailed explanation! This helped me better understand how to work the one I bought. I specifically purchased mine as an external watchdog timer for my home automation and security DVR computer. The intent was to have my HomeSeer controlled Arduino send a pulse to this timing module to keep resetting the clock. If it didn't reset (PC locked up) the relay would engage the PC reset switch. Unfortunately I can only configure this module to work the opposite. Using P7 the relay is always engaged and if the input is triggered (pulse from Arduino) before CL timeout then the relay will stay engaged. If PC locks up and and stops triggering the Arduino then CL will timeout and cause the relay to disengage, which could trigger the PC reset switch. Ideally I do not want the relay engaged 99% of the time. Instead I would like to keep the relay off with ongoing trigger timer resets and if there is not a reset (PC locked up) then engage the relay for 1 sec to reset PC. I have tried every combination I can think of with this module but don't think it is possible. Did I miss a setting? Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help.

I have a product switch which controls a solenoid gate. The gate in normal position is closed. I have a deer feeder. This consists of a feed bin and an electric motor-generated feed disperser. The unit is powered by a solar panel. A "Moultrie timer" is introduced into the circuit, allowing programmable feed duration and timing intervals. This timer is unfortunately limited to feed intervals in whole seconds. I want to refine feeding intervals to fractions of a second, and I stumbled upon the XY-LJ02 as a solution.
I tested the device (with an on/off switch in place of the timer), setting it to P4 mode and a CL of 0.5 seconds then OP of 2.0 seconds and then turn off. On the bench it energized the load as intended.
But when I took the prewired device to the actual feeder, it didn't work! I'm concerned the problem is with my pre-wiring of the XY-LJ02. You mentioned in this tutorial changing the wiring on the left side of the device in the event of using an "external source" in lieu of a push button switch. I did not understand this explanation, it went too quick for me. HOW WOULD YOU WIRE THE XY-LJ02 FOR THIS FEEDER?

I would really like to know if you can turn off the display while the timer is powered. I have mine powered 24 hours to activate a pump for 30 seconds per day. My lead-acid battery drains quite fast and I suspect that this is due to the brightly lit display which is permanently on. Thank you.

Great tutorial - And you have done that again! :) I just ordered my XY-LJ02 Relay Module from AliExpress. The main thing that i wanted to try is the Serial Commands using Rx and Tx - Since I am planning to set the relay far from the MCU and I don't want to set a new program from the module all the time - I want to be able to set the program itself and also If I should use a loop then gfive a count for it and set On and Off time for each one of the 7 Programs - and all of this I want to see how it can be done from the Rx and Tx - assuming that I will connect it directly to my MCU Rx and Tx as well. I can also be able to set more then one board from the Arduino (or any other MCU I choose) using a different pin-set for each one - i will need to set another Rx and Tx on the Arduino, I am not sure how But this is also something I am looking forward to test Maybe using the Software serial that way I can use more then one set of Rx and Tx Communications . GREAT JOB!!! thank You.

I have shown it with Common and NO (normally Open), if you connect to Common and NC, the operation will be the opposite. Meaning if the module was turning something ON from OFF state, it will turn something OFF from ON state.

Great Video. I want to build an auto garage door closer as we keep coming home and finding the door wide open. The problem is that every time the door motor receives a signal it will stop, and on the next signal reverse. This means we need a loop and then stop the loop once it actually closes. So I need to be able to have a delay of a few minutes once the reed switch activates, run a one second signal (to activate the door) and close it. Wait a minute to give it time to close, then if the reed switch remains open close the relay again for one second so the door activates again. This covers all options and the door will defiantly close. If we just have one signal then we might just end up opening it all the way when myself and the girlfriend both push the buttons when we leave.I am thinking P5 will do this.

Is there a way to program it so that it only counts down if the trigger is pushed? If the trigger is released I want the count down to stop. In P4. I’m using this to close a door. Once the door is full open it pushes and holds the trigger. It will count down to activate relay to close the door. If someone closes the door early the door will open at the end of count down and start the cycle over.

Put the XY-LJ02 into an existing circuit. This circuit includes a timer (that provides impulses to load at programmed times and intervals), load (as a 6v DC electric motor), and a 6v battery. The XY-LJ02 will modulate the impulses from the timer to load to accomplish a certain goal.
Can this be done? How would you wire the XY-L02 here, and would it be triggered by the existing timer? Do you have a circuit diagram that you can point me to? Thanks.

Can this device be used to latch an intermittent pulse power connection? I have a 12v dc current that turns my turn signals off and on in my vehicle. The time between off and on is 2 seconds. So the turn signals flash- rest- flash until the turn signal is moved to the neutral position. I want to use the left and right turn signal power lines to power my blind spot video cameras. If I hooked up my cameras right now the video would loop off and on until I finished my turn. I want the video to be constant until the turn signal trigger is moved to neutral. @@robojax I watched your video twice and I'm confused. Does this timer relay convert momentary to latch? I will not be connecting a constant power supply to this device. It will get a power trigger which is momentary. It will be a looping source until I manually shut it off. It is DC 12v. When I move my switch to on it will create a looping momentary power trigger every 2 seconds. In other words it is on-off-on-off and so on. I read that a timer relay can turn momentary power to latching until the trigger is removed. Where in your video covers this? Thankyou

this is a DIY (do it yourself) module and you need to know a little about electronics. The difference is that you need a pules (which is a voltage for a short moment).
