Trappin and flexin really expensive watches and cars for women was great but a while but one day led a group of bums to come for me, almost kill me in a home invasion, take many many 100ks worth of possessions and savings. And that lead me to a totally new mindset with a second chance at life being strip of what I had thought was so important to me. So sometimes these extreme changes are needed. If you lost over a M maybe you’d feel the same way. If your life is straight and you’re sound and safe then maybe you don’t need to change anything. While it’s great that he did it, don’t think that’s the necessary procedure!!! You will never be “ready” to be baptized, baptism is only a public proclamation of your commitment to Christ!!!
I don’t agree, there’s no reason to go back to your old life after you get baptized. You don’t have to get baptized to get to heaven but you must repent and change from sinful ways. You never know when your time is up

No you have to give up sin first it's called repentance...and turn to Him
simply by ourselves we don't have the power to redeem our sin--Jesus isn't an additive piece of salvation but the full atoning power
and the only change pre- and post-baptism is the public acknowledgement of your decision to follow Christ--baptism is not salvific
