You don't get a mark for it but it is good maths to distinguish a number or constant (i.e. k) from a variable that changes i.e. a and b. Does that make sense?

+Ragavy Thangasamy Good Q. It would be wrong to decimalise as 5/3 is a non-terminating decimal - it's 1.66666666. Therefore by writing it as a terminating decimal you are rounding your answer and so it's not accurate. As such you would lose marks. Always leave as a fraction if non-terminating.

+Rekom Official How is this hardest it literally is just a formula
accept different people find different things hard
proportion is easy, say y=kx
y = 64
x= 4
k = y / x == 4
k=16
if x = 4, find y
y = 4 * 16 ==64
y=64
EZ
