    Bro this video is so underrated, I've seen like 10 videos of inverse functions and I didn't understand it. This video is enough to make even a stupid person understand everything. BIG THANKS TO YOU

    Thank you so much! I've been having to teach myself gcse higher maths before mocks - we're doing a full paper, and I need an 8 to do further at sixth form! - as my class hasn't covered all the content yet. This channel has been invaluable.

    Once again here i am binging your videos the day before my paper 3 gcse exam this time! You helped me understand inverse functions which I always struggled with, especially with all the simple steps ty. Also i have a question, for the 2nd example if my answer was 5x-1 instead of 5(x-1), would it still be correct?

    • @1stClassMaths
      @1stClassMaths  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks and good luck.
      Unfortunately no in response to your question. If you expand the bracket you get 5x - 5 so they are different.

      @@1stClassMaths thanks for your help, so does this mean its better to not expand the bracket when it comes to these type of questions?

    Hey this is super helpful, also what is the difference of doing (the cube root of [(x squared - 58) divided by 2]) and ([the cube root of (x squared - 58)] divided by 2)? sorry when written its super confusing lol

    • @1stClassMaths
      @1stClassMaths  23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      The order in which you do the operations. In the first one you square x, subtract 58, divide by 2 then cube root whatever you get.
      In the second one you square x, subtract 58, then cube root then divide this by 2.

    Sir something I dont understand.
    f(x) = x/5 + 1
    f-1(x) = 5(x-1)

    • @1stClassMaths
      @1stClassMaths  11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hi. The working is as follows:
      f(x) = (3x - 4) / 2
      y = (3x - 4) / 2
      x = (3y - 4) / 2
      2x = 3y - 4
      2x + 4 = 3y
      (2x + 4)/3 = y
      f-1(x) = (2x + 4)/3
      You cannot add 4 before multiplying by 2. You should multiply by 2 first.
