I will always look at this piece with some sort of emotion. Not just because it’s a beautiful piece and because of the story it represents, but the fact I never got to do it. My sophomore year of high school I joined my honors chorus, and we did a lot of songs like this. This one and “In Remembrance” were my favorites, and we had a really good choir that was experienced and very well matured, it was like a college choir. But guess what, that was the cursed 2019-2020 year, and ya know what that means, COVID-19. All of a sudden everything’s getting cancelled. A lot of those talented people I never got to sing with or even talk to again, and then we got a new set of people in honors chorus and had to start slow, so I never got to do any of the stuff we did before. If we had my sophomore concert, it would’ve been the best concert I ever had the honor of attending, but I never got to do it. Regardless I still cherish my senior year and I made lasting friendships that go on to this day. But that concert will always be a mystery. I wish we could’ve done it before Covid-19, or at least use some of the pieces later, but in life you can’t always get what you want
Wow..choraly..lol and yes I think I made word up..lol..AWESOME..Emotion, control , And everyone know their got damn NOTE.. Thank you all soo much.. the only sad parts was the base solo and the eager soprano that jumped.. but I'm still about to listen to it about 20 more times😬😔
whoever did that tenor solo was amazing! great job to everyone in this, sounded great
Okay now I have received my daily dose of cold chills. Great choir. Tight!!!! Brilliant director!
My choir is doing this right now it's gonna be great
Mine is doing it now too, 4 years later, but I’m excited
and 5 years later my choir is doing it
6 years later, and my choir is doing it!
6/7 years later my choir is doing it
The best video of this song in TH-cam
Wow, that sounded even better than my choir's performance of that piece a few years ago! Not to brag, that's saying something! Brilliant! Loved it.
lol ghp is like the hardest program in Georgia to get into. We had two girls go in the past three years and they have both said the rigor is insane.
They’re okay. I can easily compare my high school concert choir to them. Our chamber choir was even better though so ..
@@jermaine8107 haha five years later listening to it again I’m more with you now. I still think they’re v good but there are shortfalls.
My how this brings back memories of my choir. I love this song. Well done!
We sang this in the Youth for Understanding chorale back in the sixties. Loved it then love It now
The Bass’s give me chills beyond my belief and the sopranos
Brought tears to my eyes during Prism I and the Vocal Concert
I was a Soc Stud and I loved everything the vocal majors did
I can’t stop listening to this which is a really good thing since the choir that I’m in is gonna sing this
The BEST HS choir in the country!
We did this song when I was in college.

Daniel lord
That 2nd soprano didn’t have to go that hard, but she did.
My small ensemble group from my middle school is singing this, and i have a solo
JKILL09 ! how did it go?
Let’s hear it
@@landoblu dang two year and no response. Smh im hurt
Man if ONLY this song ended with a Soprano going up to that F sharp, easy 👌🥹
It’s the soprano that was previous for me! 🙄
My choir sang much faster, sang the words a little differently, and we had a drum beat and piano player.
It wasn't this arrangement..lol
Excellent rendition!
