Thanks for the video. It was very helpful. I just installed the 12V accessory on my 2023. The 2023 Rebel 500 has a relay that comes with the OEM kit. The relay plugs into a slot underneath the fuel tank on the right side. It's no big deal. It was actually the easiest part of the install. No need to completely remove the whole fuel tank. All you need to do is take out the rear center bolt and move the fuel tank to the side about 3 or 4 inches. Just enough room to get a few fingers in there and plug in the relay.
Hey Juzzie, man I want to say thanks from Mississippi. I watched your videos and I got the USB part from Japan. Absolutely love it. And after watching your video on it, it was a very easy install. Hard part now is to find the USB to put inside. Needless to say, part stores here don't seem to carry them. Thanks again, sincerely Big Mac
Great to hear Raffe. WeBike is a great store to get reputable high quality parts from. I got the USB from my local car parts shop called Supercheap Auto. I think this type of shop is called pep boys or AutoZone in the US. It should also be available at Walmart👍 Thank you for tuning into my channel 🤜🤛
Thank you for this feedback that's exactly what I like to hear. I don't know if you're following me on IG but if you are, please send me a shoutout once you get your mods installed so I can see. Nothing makes me more happier. Thank you !
Thank you for such a thorough walkthrough of all the parts and install 🙏🙏 have been meaning to setup the wireless charger on my rebel and this helps a ton!
Got to say mate really comprehensive video. Picked up a 23 model in Thailand supreme version just has a few bolt on changes from factory compared to Australia. Cheers to the comments about the difference in 23 model. Really enjoyed watching.
Thank you very much for this informative video! I have a 2022 Rebel 500 and I had no idea there are wires with connectors for accessories right under the speedometer. I just installed a battery tender last week for winter storage and it connects to the battery with a SAE connector. Since the cable is now on the battery I was planning on getting a SAE - to USB adapter and mounting it somewhere on the handlebars, but after seeing your video I’m wondering if connecting it this way would be better/easier? And yes, I was looking at quad locks as well.
Just one comment about your accessories list: Akrapovič does not make an exhaust for the Rebel. The company is from Slovenia and I contacted the the HQ about it. They told me that they do not offer it and any “Akrapovič” exhaust systems or slip-ons for the Rebel are fakes.
Just got a new Rebel-- the 2 connectors shown by the headlight are not ignition live- where do you fit a fuse to make them live?-- getting to the positive connector on battery is a real difficult task --the bikes must come with positive already connected and only needs negative to be connected - thanks for your excellent video.
Someone contacted me with this exact problem in Australia about a month ago on a new 23 model. The dealer couldn't work it out for a couple of days but returned it in working condition. He was not told of the fix. I guess there must be a fuse required for 23 and up models which I have no experience with sorry. Otherwise everything else is the same.
@@TweakedGSX Ive looked high and low were to fit a fuse -- but wiring is so compact theres no wriggle room -- so run the cables into battery area and connected it there.
Sorry Darren I missed this message. The hardened Kinchrome sockets to use on the impact wrench are sold at the tool section at my local Bunnings. They are about $20 each. I bought. 6mm and 8mm but you can also buy a complete set that should last you for life. Not cheap, but cheaper than having to buy an easy out to undo a threaded or rounded bolt👍
You have to use an impact wrench or a at the very least, an allan key with a 90 degree handle. It is worth it to purchase even a cheap impact wrench from your local hardware store, otherwise you're going to strip the bolt and then you'll need to pay twice over in money and time, to extract the bolts.
The socket itself doesn't make the whole setup waterproof accept the wireless charger. Good setup but it's gonna be a hassle if it rains because of the socket. Get the USD Smart connector it'll save you the hassle. But pricey...
@@azmanmarleyarit that's incorrect. The socket itself is waterproof as it comes with a waterproof cap which is pictured in the video. I have a saddle bag that I can place the USB socket and wireless charger if needed but I never ride in the rain. The wireless charger is waterproof and the USB port for it is underneath the quadlock and uses a waterproof connector. Since making this video I now have the charger located underneath my fairing but it makes no difference waterwise as it still would work in the OEM location
Hi Juzzie, is it fine to use it without the QuadLock Vibration Dampener? I heard that the vibration from motorbike could damage the smartphone in many ways, need your advice on this to whether save on the extra $19.99.
Thanks for the praise but if you thought 20 seconds of chat about the tape length describing how long you need to unravel as it is multiple turns, then you are in for a real shock on this channel LOL
Yes it has a long shroud at the connection for which I've never had an issue. The cable itself has 2 or 3 necks so to speak around the cable to prevent water getting up to the USB port as well.
This will not working on a 2023, there is a relay needed for 23 model, to make those socket ignition live, I saw a few folks running into the same issues including myself, checking the rebel forum might give anyone direction if needed
This install completely works and must be followed on any post 2019 Rebel. The 2023 onwards rebel needs the relay on top of this, but that additional relay does not mean that you have to follow these steps to install the the accessory loom and 12v usb
Yes unfortunately with the charger that is connected directly to the battery it continues to supply charge even after the ignition is off. I've also heard if this causing flat batteries. You will be all good with my method but if you have a 2024 version you will also need to buy the relay. A link to this is in my last Rebel video.
Please make sure that you read the video description and check out the necessary links before commenting, to save my sanity. Cheers!

I'm excited to do this for my rebel! I heard a few folks drained their battery on longer trips when it was connected directly to it, so this is great!

@@TweakedGSX do you maybe know, what the electrical connector that attaches to the wires under the speedometer is called?
Excellent video with clear instructions, though can't help thinking Honda should have fitted as standard
is the honda accessory socket side waterproof? just worried that water can get in there
It comes with a water cap that you have to place on when leaving the bike. Otherwise for minor rain I've had no issues.

Hi Juzzie, what do you have a link for the socket kit by any chance? I’ve just order a rebel 500 should have it in December. Can’t wait 😂

Hey, just wondering, the accessories usb only have power if key are turn on/bike running
The only time the usb cannot get power is when the key is in the off position.

No need for Samsung. iPhone definitely needs one

No
