Are you talking about the relay?
@@MacrossGarage I don't know what a relay is, but I'm referring to those two hidden wires that you unwrapped beneath your guages housing.
I think the older models do not access the power the same way. Linking an older instructions manual. So they wont have the wrapped up wiring.

I have just installed that charger usb on my 2023 rebel , the only thing I left out was the spacers and washers , as they are to fiddly to locate in , so I used the original hex bolts with no problem, I noticed in your clip you forgot to attach all the wires to the bungee rubber type cable tie , I still am not sure why Honda left this relay out , the only thing I can think of is do to the Covid the relays were not being made at that time , your clips on here did help me install the product and I thank you for that .
I’ll need to re watch and look at the wires. So your saying your kit didn’t come with a relay?
@@MacrossGarage it did come with the relay and I have installed it on the bike , all is well and working.
@@MacrossGarage yes my kit did come with the relay box and I have fitted the relay and phone charger adapter and all is good , thanks for your help with how to fit it .
Great video man, I just had one question. When you remove the bottom bolt on the gas tank, you can just swivel it around to access the relay port? You don't have to disconnect any fuel hoses or pumps etc? Just the bolt? Thanks!
Yes you just rotate the top part when you un-mount it. No need to disconnect anything. Just make sure the tanks is support and doesn’t fall over.

I’m about to buy the same accessory from eBay, but apparently that part does not come with the relay that you showed on a video. Do I need the relay to put under the tank for the socket to work correctly?
I am not sure, I’ve never tested it without the relay. Double check your part numbers, if you have a 2023 kit, it should come with a relay.
Thank you for this video. I ordered one for my 2023 Rebel 500 abs and installed it and it didn't work. I now know that it didn't work because I got the wrong item and had no relay included.
Glad you got it sorted out. Honda accessories can be confusing at times.

Hello. Just had a gas tank question. So its just 1 bolt holding the tank in place? To swivel the tank do you have to loosen any other fasteners or grommets or just that 1 bolt?
Just the bolt near the seat. Up front it’s on some rubber grommets. Just need to pull it back. You can leave the hoses and gas lines but you can’t move it too far and can’t let it hang. Just support it.

It came with it.
I used 08U70-K2Y-A00 model, it has relay too, but not just any 12v socket for Rebel has it

It came with the kit, I don’t think it is sold separate
why the extra step with the 2022/2023
I am not really sure, some say it’s acts like a fuse.

I am not quite sure but the relay may act as the fuse.

@@MacrossGarage just did some research it appears the 2023 model rebels require a relay. The reason I asked was because I have a 2021 model and don’t need a relay.
Yes it’s new, but wondering why it’s used.
The models prior to 2023 came with the relay already installed. For some odd reason, the 2023 rebel does not come with the relay 🤦🏻♂️
