Scare acting isn’t for everyone it’s definitely a hard job that is also very time consuming. By the end of my haunt season my body was exhausted, but the people you meet and the extended family you get out of it makes the experience all well worth every second. I went on the final night and for some reason recognized you. I said “HEY GIRL!” Lol it was my favorite maze of the night. I was literally *CRAWLING* out of there!
i yelled your name at every scare actor that looked like that but you scared me so bad i didnt and ran out that room 😂

I’m 17 and I did Fright Fest at Six Flags as a scare actor this past Halloween so I related to a lot of the “struggles” you had! I loved following these vlogs because I related a lot of times with the whole sleep schedule, and having your body being so tired. It was refreshing to know that it wasn’t just me with these struggles.😄 😂

I should be doing something productive, but instead I'm lying in bed, watching this video and eating birthday cake lol. HHN sounds like such a fun experience and a great way to expand your performing repertoire, even though it is hard on your body. Loved the video as always xx

In future videos I'd love to hear more about being a cast member at Disney! I have so many questions regarding that, haha. Like, do you play the same character or several? How do they decide what characters show up and when? Does the dressing room look beyond anyone's wildest dreams? How do actors in costumes such as Mickey not pass out from the heat? I knew you were one of the girls with dark long hair in the maze! I oughtta audition for HHN next year because I wanted to get an acting job in Universal Studios since I was a kid & I want to do acting again (I was in my high school drama club). Life's short! It would be great to leave my current job for 3 months to do my childhood dream job as an actress to scare the s*** out of people. Universal, sign me up for HHN next year!

I was waiting for this video, I go to horror nights every year and the insidious maze freaked me out so bad. From the jail cell part till after I ran out of the maze.
I worked as a maze host at Ash vs Evil Dead (1st time at HHN too). I stopped by Insidious and had a blast. You guys did a terrific job! That's cool that you got to keep a piece of your prosthetic. At our maze, the actors mostly used masks. And you're right. The Universal staff and security is great. Great job as a scare actor.
I watched a walkthrough of the insidious maze a few weeks ago and saw your character pop out and thought “I bet that is Sierra’s character” and I was right!
I've going the past 5 years and i got the frequent fear pass this year so i went a couple times. Such a cool event! Im such a fan of it. Definitely saw this character in the Insidious maze behind the white sheets.

I had a feeling you were in the sheet scene! OMG. One of my favorite scares, using the duck boy as distraction! You were SO good! I always said how on fire the actress was in that scene, so amazing work! My girlfriend and I (And our friend who had a neck brace for half the season) came to HHN this year 13 times (insane, I know), so we definitely got to know the Insidious maze and decided early on that it was the scariest house this year. Also what you were saying about doing the double scare in your room was SO EFFECTIVE and can actually remember times where I got scared even though I knew someone was back there. Glad you had fun! We definitely did!

Did you ever recognize people you were scaring? I know sometimes celebs like to go to these and was wondering if you ever saw a familiar face while acting
yes! I did recognize celebrities from time to time as well as friends from my regular life too!

I knew that was you! When you said Insidious and I saw a previous walkthrough of the maze before going, I figured that was you. So cool! You got me pretty good, that maze was amazing. So happy that you shared your journey with us this season!! It's been really cool to follow you since your first video and everything that has happened within a year for you post grad! Your costume and makeup was SO GOOD wow I wish I was able to experience that in real life, but let's be real, I would have been one the one evacuated for crying and being "too scared" haha. Do you think that you'll return for next year? I totally understand how time-consuming it was and why you may not, but I'd love the chance to see you perform! Also can we talk about how this sleep routine is my naturally sleep routine maybe I should audition lol

Oh cool! I saw you around a few times and didn't realize it, lol. I got to do every maze and scare zone except Insidious and Toxic Tunnel. My favorite role was Freddy Krueger at Titans of Terror. I'm still sad it's over!

I have an audition tomorrow for hhn and I’m watching this for advice :) not sure yet if I’m going to go or not it was kind of a last minute sign up this week because I saw them post it on their website! But I’m interested just a little nervous, I love acting so it would be a fun job. But agh! We’ll see :)

I'm not sure but I think I might of saw you when I went though the Insidious maze twice on the final night of Horror Nights. But I've got to say that your scare acting skills Were on Point & there were frightening awesome pop out scares!
But I'm not sure if I want to for Universal or Knotts again for next year because I did work scary farm this year & it was my 1st year working scary farm & it was pretty amazing & awesome being in a maze at Scary Farm but for next year I either want go for a street zone at Knotts or Mabey universal but I just hope that at least one year that I could make it as a scare actor for Horror Nights one year because that's still one of my dream goals of being a scare actor at HHN Hollywood!

Dang, your brake schedule is interesting. For Kings Island haunt, we only got 1 30-minute break per night. I always find it fascinating how other haunts do things.

I always wondered what happens when (for example) if you're in a scarehouse and you need to eat or use the bathroom, how do they do that since the scares are non stop?
There are set schedules for actor change-outs. They are only on set for a short period of time but are constantly rotating back in. This is for the houses. On a street, they can tell their coordinator who is hiding somewhere nearby.
At my haunt we have to go 6 hours straight without breaks but I mean I live in Indiana so
At my haunt they are extremely cool with letting us take breaks. They even have staff dressed up as actors walk in between groups with things such as jolly ranchers, cough drops, water, etc. and will check up on us regularly and if we need a break they are more then happy to stand in for us for like 15 minutes
At my haunt we don't usually get breaks. They come through once a night if at all, which is four hours. They have snacks like fruit snacks and granola bars, ibuprofen, cough drops, and bottles of water. The water we have to take small sips in between groups and we don't really have time to eat. Anyway, we don't want our breath to smell like the cherry cough drops or fruit snacksfor the characters that get close to the customer's faces. We don't use the restroom unless we absolutely need to. If we have to do it really bad we go forward or backward and find whichever one will work better to fill in for up to five minutes while we quickly go.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I enjoyed how you gave a lot of interesting behind the scene info and were honest about the pros and cons. You mentioned, on twitter, that a woman (what was she thinking???) took her small children through the maze, what did you and your co workers do when this happened? Did you hold back your scaring techniques?
I would never scare small children- I would definitely hold back because I think it would be traumatic to be in those mazes as a small child!
As someone that has 5+ years of experience in a scare attraction I wouldn’t hold back if there were children walking. Because that’s the gamble you take when you walk through the houses and children shouldn’t be treated differently in terms of scaring them.
While I never worked for Halloween Horror Nights, I was scare actor for over 20 years. The main one I used to do back in NY is actually open this year.

I volunteer at a haunt and we don't get actual scheduled breaks (which is fine we're all high energy and wouldn't want to stop anyways because we would get so antsy) we get just bathroom breaks because it's so busy! But my trick when I'm getting tired is to always eat some protein, like slim Jim's or peanuts and then drink a full bottle of water

Gonk guests can't do that and its the same with scare actors, u can't touch them and they can't touch you

Meredith Wood it happens several times a night at every maze and in all the scarezones, a lot of the time its a reflex guests have, you learn as you work as a scareactor more how to read people and their body language and how they’ll react when you scare. Occasionally people will come in looking to start problems and most of the time it’s because they’ve been pre-gaming at city walk and then come in the park acting like idiots.
I have asthma. I dont think i'll be able to hang as a scareactor after all. I do get sick easily since my lungs are not that strong enough for me to do scares all night.
Yeah I think it would be pretty challenging for you with that in mind. But perhaps you could be a maze host! Then you could still be a part of it, but wouldn't have to be as active!
Sierra Green when u got sick 3 times and had a high fever, did u have trouble breathing and feel like you wanted to call it a night cause you couldn't like stand anymore and wanted to just lay down in bed?
Yes I had to go home sick one night and I called out sick twice! I didn't like having to do that but you always have to put your health first!
Sierra Green oh ok that was my concern. I dont want to risk my asthma. Some of my friends and family knows I have asthma but they act like its nothing. I do get frustrated cause they dont know what its like amd what i'm going through. I've been wanting to audition ever since 2009 but I was too scared to do it. Now that you've done it. Can you give me an advice about auditioning? Like the 3 most important things.
+mcjunebug2 wouldn't you not want to audition to save yourself from the fog/mist/co2? At least in Orlando there's so much.
It's not just scareactors that had late schedules. I was there til 3:30 am every night of HHN. Scareactors don't have to immediately go back to a normal park hours schedule like other departments because they are not employees after HHN

Limit? Older folks are loved during the holidays cause it fills specific roles. If you meant youngest age to hire it's 17 I think in fl
13+ . You can go even younger if you have parents with you. I went by myself and i'm 15.
keTuraH baXteR to audition I believe is 18 and up but to get into hhn there really is no age restrictions. I've been babies there(like babies who can't even walk yet), kids in strollers, like a lot of grown men can't even handle hhn much less your 7 year old kid.
