I just made an Elrond deck, cool to see your take on it, brother. I wish they would have given Gala Greeters some Lord of the Rings art. Those elves are always singing and having parties.
Great video as always! Ezuri Renegade Leader or ERL as I like to call him is my mono green commander. Protection and wincon stapled to your commander is just great. But definitely a unique spin to elfball focusing on scrying and counters.
I feel like Gwenna and Ezuri work against eachother. Also if enough things force your creatures to enter with +1/+1 counters, Ezuri's XP counter trigger will shut off. But you can keep proliferating to make Ezuri keep working
Couldnt you stack the triggers if lets say a 1/1 entered the battlefield, while you have an ezuri claw of progress and a for example tribute to the world tree. So like, have the 1/1 enter, ezuri AND the tribute to the world tree see it enter, have ezuri trigger first, getting your EXP counter, and then tribute sees it as still a creature with less than 3 power, so it gives it two +1+1 counters. Sorry but I just also dont get how gwenna eyes of gaea and ezuri nonbo with each other. They do different things, gwenna makes herself bigger when you CAST not when something ETBs, but gwenna is just a bad pick cause you will be pressed to find elves that have more than 5 power
@@cockman8437 One, there's no trigger to "enters with". If creatures enter with counters, or if for instance you have something pumping them like Door of Destinies, they will at no time be less than 2 power as they enter. There is no trigger, just a bunch of static abilities happening. There are some triggered effects that put counters on things upon ETB, etc, and in these cases you would be correct, but I'm just notice l noting that it is pretty easy to shut off Ezuri if you're not careful. Two, I didn't refer to Gwenna and Ezuri as a non-bo. I just think they work against each other. You even mentioned that elves don't have a lot of creatures that trigger Gwenna, so building elfball makes her not as good. She could be good for this deck if you build around her more, but then you're also strategizing against Ezuri. The deckbuilding strategies that both ask for are opposed. Ezuri says gimme lil guys and I'll mutate them into hulks, whereas Gwenna just asks for you to keep dropping Hulks. Not a non-bo, but definitely works against each other.
I was originally building around her as well, but with the scry cards I added, I get more value out of Elrond. Also the colors make it beyond easy to ramp out to get everyone on the board

Building this one but with the 2 drop Arwen instead. Four drop is too slow and you can tutor up the Elronds easy enough
