    I bought one in July of 2023 and I still absolutely love it just don't forget to take your power brick literally everywhere because even with simple tasks you're looking at this thing chugging battery life.

    The reason for the unusual hinge placement, is because the screen can be pushed all the way down. Like all the way flat. Asus calls it the '180° lay-flat hinge' and it is a design feature for professionals who might be used to working more traditionally with tools like pen & paper. It is designed to emulate that experience.

    So how many hours of battery life do you get with this ProArt 4070 model? My junk i9 HP Omen 16 2022 gets only about 3 hours of battery life just from web browing and using Word.

    Oh thank goodness they kept the physical dial. Looks like they improved the design too, these "tailed" designs are super underrated! So cool. I wish I had the money to buy one lol.
    This is probably the most useful laptop I've ever seen. The dial would be perfect for CAD, game design, and even just 2d art.
    No laptop beats that built-in stylus! Those 2 in 1s suck. Gimme a dedicated drawing tablet over a touchscreen & stylus every time. Even iPads suck imo.
    The specs are fine. Upgradable ram and storage should be standard. Even the battery is a good middle-of-the-road between battery life and weight. The only thing it's missing is a slot for the XG mobile.
    Note: I'm coming from owning a legion s7i, asus x16, and a lenovo flex 14. I plan to get a framework 16 when I can afford it, but now I'll have to consider this now too!

    • @firstNamelastName-ho6lv
      @firstNamelastName-ho6lv 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@nr7645no I have not, but I can tell you the x16 is only worth it for primarily gaming, the whole 2 in form 1 factor is too much of a gimmick for daily productivity. It's so obnoxious to use it as anything other than a touchscreen gaming laptop.

      i'm trying it right now, and there is a worst effet, it seems like there is a grid, i checked out with my macro lens, and im disapointed to see pixels are not really square like most of screens, and so it has sharpness issue, if you want i can send you the images

      @@mcmofff im confused, i'm using it right now, it's so powerfull (i use it for lightroom and premiere pro) so it's perfect, and its so well built and feels so tough, i'm 40 years old, so i really like the retro design, the keyboard and touch pad are also the best i ever used, the placement of connectors.. even the display is not as bad, it's bright, and have a good pixel density, so, may be after few days, i can accept this issue, or may be i have to wait.. lenovo just announced a new Legion 7i Gen 9 at CES2024, and it looks very interesting, it has a mini led display that seems to have a better color accuracy than oled, but, i'm not sure i can wait to see it on the market, je need a powerfull laptop next month :(

      @@mcmofff finally i purchased my own laptop, and i'm finally almost happy, bocose, ok, the proart is really a workstation, but, i know, i will not survive with this screen, so, i ordered the VivoBook 16X, the IPS screen version, it's much less expensive, feels less tough thant the proart, but it's ok, it has the i7 13650hx, it's also really powerfull, especially when i've seen that it has the same thermal solution as the proart (2 big fan, 4 exhausts, 4 heat pipes... so the CPU can run at his full potentiel, the IPS pannel is really perfect ! and also has 500 nits just like the proart, the only negative is the fact that it only support max 32G of ram and only one nvme slot, with 2TB max, but for the price, it's ok i'm really happy with it, and really happy to not spend the double of the price for the proart :)

    Buyer beware! Touchscreen has grainy dot/mesh pattern its quite visible even from 50 cm distance, especially on faces, bright colors and whites. I sent mine to service they replaced the screen came back the same.
    Rest of the laptop is excellent and quite premium on every aspect.

    • @HarTechFr
      @HarTechFr 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      i noticed the same issue, i tryed to take some pictures of the display using my macro lens, i'm not sure but it seems that the pixel shape is not usual, and there is always a black dot between pixels, and this is what causes the mesh pattern effect, i can send you the pictures, it's very shaming from a laptop as expensive, i also noticed some issues with USB A ports, it's not so stable.

    I would rather have an i7, but more VRAM honestly. That's a deal killer for me sadly! Real time render are becoming more common in my field, and that requires memory on the card which this machine lacks. Everything else is exactly what I wanted from a laptop. Really annoying!
