    I’ve made this during Pharmacy Technician School. So much fun. One of the things we do is if we talk about a number under 1, we say”zero point 4(0.4)”. Anything less than 1 gets a 0 first. Helps avoid mistakes. Enjoy watching your videos,great job.

    Do you sterilize your bottles? I put them in bleach water and they took a few days to completely dry.

    Hi, I am new to making my own skin products and am excited to try this out. I have 2 questions for you. 1. Could I use Optiphen Plus? Is there a difference between Optiphen vs Optiphen Plus. Will it preserve it the same? 2. Do you still get your fragrance oil at Bramble Berry? There shipping just seems to take longer than what I’m use to.

    • @VWFamilyFarm
      @VWFamilyFarm  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am not familiar with optiphen plus. I do still order from Bramble Berry and yes do you have to wait on their shipping but it seems to be the best prices to me so I just wait.

  • @jenniwaidman9274

    Can you add the preservative and scent before blending? I was going to try blending a little thicker so it's a whipped lotion so wasn't sure if it could be added after blend thicker? If that makes and sence

    Thank you for this vid, how did you come up with the recipe, I have a couple of questions, can we add honey and beeswax to replace the preservative? And do we have to use water, can it all be the milk for the liquid?

    • @VWFamilyFarm
      @VWFamilyFarm  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I am not sure about altering it. With milk in the recipe I am afraid it would grow bacteria without a preservative.

  • @sunshineriv6850
    @sunshineriv6850 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you for sharing your recipe. It is very informative and easy to understand. I want to try making my own lotion using your recipe and was wondering which Optiphen you use. I checked the website you mentioned Bramble Berry and they have 2 different options. The Optiphen and the Optiphen ND which is best? Also on the wax there is emulsifying wax and palowax emulsifying wax. Does it matter which one? I just want to make sure I use the right product. Thanks in advance.

    • @VWFamilyFarm
      @VWFamilyFarm  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I know this is a 2 year old video. I really would like to make it. However I want to try to make it more of a thick cream or butter. Is there any way to use a goats milk powder to cut down on the liquid ratio and allow a thicker butter consistency?

    • @VWFamilyFarm
      @VWFamilyFarm  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would not change the ratio, I would just blend longer. If that doesn’t work, I would just find a body butter recipe.

  • @alteredLori
    @alteredLori 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    How long does you lotion last? Since you only use Optiphen? So many are controversy about making goat milk lotion and causing bacteria to grow with in a couple of weeks. I am not saying that yours will but curious how long it will last for you. Thanks for your experience making this product. Do you ever have it tested??? thanks!

    • @kcfamilyfarm939

      Jessica, dont skip warming the milk and water. If I understand correctly, the reason you warm them is to have all of the ingredients close to the same temperature when you mix the oils into the water/milk mixture.
