Never tire of these two. Yes the busiest Ben Lomond, best done at night (for sunrise) to avoid the crowds (my fav way)...or at least up Ptarmigan route if during day . And Vorlich is best done from back shoulder from Ardlui or Butterbridge...again just to avoid the crowds...🌋🌋👍
The Algo recommended me your channel Paul after following the Munro Journey videos. I'm now a proud customer of Step One undercrackers after watching your gear videos 🤣🤟 gave them a run out last week up Mount Keen and my two pals are now in the club!!
I've thoroughly enjoyed following your journey over the past few years and you've brought so many memories to this old Munro bagger good on you and keep going buddy
Usual lovely video. The number of people coming up the road was amazing. I've done Ben Lomond many times, and apart from in the hill race it's never been that busy I guess because the last time was in the last century! The steps up Vorlich look horrible. So much nicer and more interesting to turn up the hill after 500 metres or so and bimble up the ridge- the start is still steep but without the artificially placed rocks, and the higher ridge you'd probably have to yourself.
Ben Lomond is the only Munro I've attempted but not made it to the top - it was cloudy and 13 year old me didn't want to miss dinner... More great views and another beautiful video, thanks James
Ben Lomond was my first Munro, I was so unprepared and unfit and it put me off for a while. Fortunately, I'm in much better fettle a couple of years on and have been bagging a few Munro's. I'm gonna go back to Ben Lomond at some point to face my nemesis and hopefully enjoy it more!🤣🤟
Hi James, a couple of busy old hills as you say, stunning views from the summits of both though. Great to see Lexi back out with you again. All the best Dave 😀🥾⛰🏴
Nice one, James. I didn't know Ben Lomond was so rugged up top - and if it is the busiest Munro (and I suspect Ben Nevis might be in hot pursuit), then it's little wonder with all those spectacular views it affords. Good to see Lexie out with you again, you're clearly very fond of each other!
You definitely did Ben Lomond the right way around, I did it in reverse when I did it back in 2021 and the descent was nowhere near as fun with the slightly featureless forest section, definitely need to rectify that at some point! Great vid as always James, great to see Lexi get in on the fun :)
Hello James, thank you ever so much for this one! I‘m quite astonished to see you hiking in your T-Shirt. I will leave for Newcastle tomorrow. I’ve heard the last nights in Scotland were so cold that we wonder if we should sleep in our campervan at all. I think we will stay at the rugged coast near Eyemouth first and then decide were to go in the highlands. What are the midges doing currently? Hope for a few beautiful hikes - best regards from Germany (only just), Martin
Hey Martin, this was a few weeks ago so its definitely a lot colder here now! I was out hiking yesterday and there was snow on the summit, crazy for this time of year 😳 hope you enjoy your trip anyway! Things look to be improving for next week, I haven’t seen any midges yet but might just be lucky! Cheers, James
@@ScottishMunroJourney Good morning James and thank you very much for your kind answer! Glad to hear that things are going to improve (at least the weather). I‘m really excited and looking forward to the mountains. Cheers, Martin
Brilliant video James. Love these 2 mountains. I prefer going to Ben Lomond for sunrise to avoid the crowds lol. I have done it 3 times now. First time I did it I was either hungover or still drunk from the night before at a friend's wedding lol. Not the best idea lol. But done it as a dare and had a freind donate to a charity of my choice. So good in a way. When I done Ben Vorlich it was not that busy for me but had cracking views. Well done on bagging another 2 munros. And to lexi. ATVB Alan
Just done ben vorlich on sunday amazing views all the way up and down....we went to the 2nd point as the map said, people looked at us confused when we walked past the 1st point😂
I took rather too much pleasure in telling a group at the south trig point that they weren't on the summit. Their whooping quickly stopped. I definitely took too much pleasure in that 😬
Ben Lomond is busy but Ben Nevis is worse (and with crowds of people without the right gear). As someone has already suggested in the comments, better done very early in the morning or late in the evening. Nice happy dog, btw 😊
A 7... only a 7 .. your going to lose a lot of subscribers after that insult 😂 Good video, that Munro had great views 👍 It doesn't look that busy , do that hill in the school holidays and every single shot you took would have about 200 people in it.. 😂 I made that mistake and couldn't get parked in the car park..
I done Ben lomond while I’m lockdown and only seen 1 guy and his son… apparently he was an off duty police officer and argued with me for being more than 5 miles away from my house but I don’t let fools spoil a good day and loved it having the Munro to my self
@@ScottishMunroJourney he told me he was going to get my registration number and send it to the office 😂😂 even his son looked at him like he was an absolute idiot hope ur experience wasn’t 2 bad and u didn’t cause anyone’s death by being alone on a mountain 😂😂
@@glasgowbhoy8711 I climbed Ben Starav during lockdown and didn't see a single soul. When I got back down to the car someone had stuck a notice on my car warning about covid and should I be out and about. Absolute crazy how the government struck fear into the population.

What a really lovely video. Stunning views and very well filmed. Thanks for taking us with you 👍🏻

Brilliant video my closest munros. Only done 1 so far, your channel inspires me to do more
100%, this channel has totally given me the bug!!
Thank you, glad you have been enjoying the vids 😁
Sauchiehall Street on a Saturday up on the Ben sometimes 😂 Big journey for you. Lovely video.
It certainly felt like that 😂 great hills though!
Was up on Monday there not too busy, great views though.

Cheers Alan, haha that would make for a memorable experience 😂 definitely a good idea doing it for sunrise, miss the crowds that way..
You should have mentioned that there’s another Ben Vorlich at Lochearnhead. Great video though 👏
Looking forward to seeing which Munro you have kept for last, not long to go now.
I will be discussing this soon 😁🏔
Just done ben vorlich on sunday amazing views all the way up and down....we went to the 2nd point as the map said, people looked at us confused when we walked past the 1st point😂
I bet a few people have messed up with that one 😂

Nice video! Nevis is by far the busiest hill though!
Give you a bit of advice. Keep An Teallach for last and make sure u get the weather. It will be some one to finish off with
Haha I will be discussing this in a future video 😁🏔
Two of the easiest Monroe's in the whole of Scotland. Lomond is like Princess Street on a Saturday afternoon. as is Ben Nevis.
I would have done them both in the same day if it wasn’t as hot as it was 😂
@@ScottishMunroJourney Yes the heat can drain you on the mountains, I managed 180 ish before I emigrated in 1997. Miss the bagging very much .

I thought 2pm would be pretty late but I was wrong 😂 Sunrise hike if I ever do it again! Cheers, James
You missed a trick taking not taking the circular route, I'd say the experience going down the other side is even better than the ascent.
Next time 😁
