Thank for evaluating Tuxedo OS. 1 interesting thing is Tuxedo is producing a new decent Laptop with Snapdragon X elite, that might interest others.
The first rule of Tuxedo OS is, you don't talk about Tuxedo OS.
Tuxedo OS is the kde flavor of linux mint imo its rolling for mesa/DE but on a stable lts base.
I would like to buy a "TUXEDO InfinityBook Pro 15 - Gen9 - AMD", for 1350€ is it a good device?
Off topic question - A1RM4X, What's your current recommendation in terms of a kernel interrupt timer frequency value for tkg kernel? I usually use 1000Hz with full tickless mode.
This should be OK. If you encounter any issue you can still reduce the frequency.
Can i ask why do you use kde and not gnome ? Because i use gnome atm but its a bit heavy is kde better ?
its good and is fun to use but its not perfect so maybe give it a try and see if you like it in a vm
For what it's worth, their support team is pretty good and knowledgeable. I have personal experience with them, and also heard similar feedback from friends who also own Tuxedo computers.
Not sure if I'll keep their OS in the long run; I'm more of a Gnome or Cinnamon person, and my distro of choice is Mint. Fortunately, it's possible to install Tuxedo Control Center on other distros, so I wouldn't have to give that up if I decide to switch distros.
Hey there! Nice video! I tried to use TuxedoOS in 2 seperate occasions but it didn't feel right, it felt more like it's builded for Tuxedo hardware and in comparison with Pop!_OS which is also builded for System76 hardware but runs perfectly on any machine i installed it and never felt like it was only for System 76 hardware. So personally i wouldn't suggest Tuxedo OS. Can you plz make a video about NitruxOS & RegataOS?
Hello,
O would like to ask which of the following are the best for gaming on a pc with AMD cpu and gpu...Nobara, Bazzitte, Chimera or Garuda? Thanks!
It really doesn't matter. AMD, unlike Nvidia for example, is fully supported by Linux and their firmware is directly in the kernel, thus AMD will work (almost flawlessly) with any Linux distribution.
At this point, any of the above mentioned Distro's should work with your AMD hardware.
They all achieve the same end result in that it sets up the Linux gaming and it's efficiency out-of-the-box and you don't have to download and tweak things yourself.
That being said, you can technically achieve a "good" Linux gaming experience, on any/most distro, if you are willing to put time and research into it (not just those that are "gaming distro's")
If I had to recommend one it would probably either be Nobara (based on Fedora; slower release cycle) or Garuda (based on Arch; Faster release cycle - this could lead to more frequent OS borks)
Both of these are popular choices, and you would enter a bigger and more active community, which could lead to quicker fixes and responses on certain questions.
Bazzite looks like it could be a better alternative to Nobara. However, that and Chimera seems to be a little less popular at this time, which could potentially makes things slower/difficult for you.
@@mountainman6420 Thanks for your feedback 👍
I have tried Bazzitte, in my experience it’s very good, better than Nobara. But it’s immutable, you should know what you’re doing.
@@sperrex465 to be honest, o think i prefer immutable...😅 Thanks for the feedback.
Do you recommend any debian based gaming distro that uses KDE?
Network installation of Debian 12 and select KDE in tasksel.
@@rafistadia6943 yes, I agree. Totally.
Steam runs on Linux, distros are irrelevant
Watch his videos about Debian. I think he talks about how to optimize it. Or he’s video about Linux Mint
use it for 6 months, I finally switched it after the KDE 6 update.
I love your french accent xD
i had a clevo laptop that worked with tuxedo control, it was ok/greatish, unfornatly not the laptop lel, so i sold it for my legion 5.
Flatpak for getting the lastest version of OBS :D
Obs: 300mb
Flatpak obs : 3gb 🤣
If you want to install 10 apps normally that hold 10gb, in flatpak should have 100gb 🤣😆😆
@@redahaskourihachlout9302 nobody said installing more than obs
Any thinking of being patriotic and try a French distro Mageia? I use it now (as it is the right successor of Mandrake and Mandriva) and it is very snappy, with NVIDIA drivers autoinstallation (now version 550 is available).
Okay next can we use Pop OS because it most uptodate kernel unlike tuxedo
even mint looks good compared to Tuxedo, because of the "EDGE" variant of the kernel you can download
@@Karti200 okay
@@rocklinks is just mint but with 6.8 (or maybe 6.9 now) by default instead of 5.15
@@Karti200 Im using cachy os now ao don't know about mint
@@rocklinks I get up to go to the bathroom, come back, update; I get distracted, I go back, update, I close my eyes, I open them: update. this is not rolling realease, bleeding edge; that is: it is cachyRules.
Fedora and Opensuse is King
With the fundamental detail that openSUSE is independent, Fedora not.
@@sitaroartworks What is Suse Enterprise? In my opinion is Fedora -> RedHat and OpenSuse -> Suse Enterprise!

TuxedoOS for me - after 2 weeks of testing - felt really… Like a crappier version of Mint, but with pre-installed KDE
call me weird but that really all feeling it gave me xd
Exactly. The newer Plasma, new kernel and drivers were somehow conflicting with some very old packages, creating various, undocumented issues.
👍
tuxedo os is cool!
Can you try pika OS?
Done: th-cam.com/video/-bUnKEjV6z4/w-d-xo.html
if i buy a tuxedo laptop or pc i will install fedora , tumbleweed or arch dont care about tuxedo os
Ah Tuxedo, that expensive company that assemble hardware and pre install Linux systems for you? I see... :)
David Guetta. Pls Man. Make tutorial how to install arch system with drivers steam lutris and configure this system to daily work for newbie. For NVIDIA users and 555 drivers pls man❤
If you really are a newbie, nothing in your comment makes sense. Arch is not for newbies, don't even try. There are many arch based systems more tailored to new users; like Garuda (which comes pre-configured for gaming and day to day use), or Bazzite, or even Manjaro as long as you don't use the AUR. Also don't use the Nvidia 555 driver in beta as a newbie and then complain things go wrong. A tutorial won't help if you don't understand what you're doing.
C'est teuxido 😂😂😂
xD
I love your german accent haha
you sure its german? it sounds more french to me. :D
It's french
@@nikiiv i think hes from alsace lorraine which is why his accent has german influence
@@nsa3967 I swear his distro was in german at the start. I cannot really tell if he's german or french
@@nsa3967 I can hear French actually the way he said "Distwo" for Distro sounds super French
Tu speak bien ze english
Dude, what is texedo hardwere? They don't make their own hardware. They can only make their own firmware or drivers.
