    Welcome back, Mrs. Ellen. We miss you! don't mind both. But Unscented is best for me. Your soaps are special, "loaded" with vitamins and minerals. For the 1st time, I don't feel nausea when I use your soaps with fragrance. The green color is beautiful. Love it 💕

    Since I only make hot process soap, it is more fun and new to see the technique or mechanism of CP soap. And I'm very curious about what a naked bar made of CP soap would be like. Usually, when soap makers add fragrance to soap, it is not only to add a nice fragrance but also to cover the smell of oil. Of course, skilled makers like you can minimize the smell of soap by perfectly saponifying it! I use salt to get rid of any residual oil smell in the soap. anyway! Your videos always make me study more and love soap more. From the first time I saw your video many years ago until now, there has never been a moment where you haven't improved!💖

    When using goat milk in my soaps, my experience has been that my soap overheats and cracks. I don't know if it's because I live in a warm climate. I soap around the same temperatures that you do. Needless to say, in the fridge my soap goes. I like learning about others' experiences though. Helps me learn on this soap-making journey. Love all your videos.

    As usual these are purely gorgeous! I prefer EO’s over no scent, but there are folks who don’t want any. We have people at our church who can’t handle scent, so we’re asked not to wear perfume or cologne out of respect. I’ve been several places where that’s the case, so having a fragrance free soap certainly has an audience. I haven’t tried gel phase yet because I’m so afraid of the whole lava thing happening.

    • @EllenRuthSoap
      @EllenRuthSoap  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Years ago when we lived in CA, our church had a "scent free" service because folks can be so sensitive to it. When I have a soap that I'm afraid might overheat, I just keep an eye on it by peeking every hour or so. And if it starts to feel too hot or looks like it's rising, I pop it in the fridge.

    So good to see your videos again! I recently ordered one of each kind of your conditioner bars and I love them! I have 3 little girls so they work great to rub a little in their hair after a bath and just leave it in, it really cut down on the tangles! We couldn't decide which scent we liked best, when they came we were sniffing them and I said well lets put them away and my 7 year old daughter, who was sniffing the heavenly one, was like wait mom I want to smell it longer. 😂 Also they were so excited to get something from Ellen Ruth on you tube! • @kristenbellinger6589

    Most of the soaps I've made have been unscented; I've been experimenting with different things like oats, coffee, honey, colloidal, etc and a few colors. I have done several scents, and I'm going to be doing a lot of different scents here shortly! As far as gel goes, I guess I'm kind of middle-of-the-road ;) I've only ever done goat milk soap, using 100% goat milk instead of water: I'm always a little worried about overheating so I've never done CPOP or wrapped in blankets, but I've never put them in the fridge either. I just spray the tops with alcohol, cover with cardboard or parchment, and set on a baker's rack, and unmold the next day. My soap studio is pretty cold most of the time. So far it's worked for me. Sometimes I see that ring that I guess means partial gel, but after the bars are cut and cured I don't see that anyway. I've been learning that forcing gel will make colors more vibrant so I've been wondering if I should force gel once I start using more colors. I have lots more experimenting to do! Thanks for the video, I love the swirls in these pretty bars!

    When you do your goats milk, you said in oil. Do you mean powder mixed in oils? And if so, how do you do it? To add to this, I used your triple butter bar recipe. And I fell in love with it. Going to try it unscented. I'm still learning about essential oils and natural coloring. But I really like fragrance oil. I got the swirling tool you had suggested.

    • @EllenRuthSoap

    Hey Ellen, beautiful soap. I'm team either or, I really don't like facial soaps with fragrance oils, I would rather use soaps with essential oils for my face.
    Question, when you make soaps for friends and family, do you charge them 🤔, and if so is it full price or discounted?

    • @EllenRuthSoap
      @EllenRuthSoap  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh boy, that's a good question and one I've struggled with my whole soap journey.. I've made gifts out of my products for friends, and I've also had friends shop on my website just to support me.. If one of them requests a whole batch of soap, I'll usually give them my cost pricing, but it gets tricky.

Does refrigerating actually help preserve the EO scent?
