This was really helpful, I was going back and forth between the air 5 and 11’ipad pro. You rlly helped me out because I rlly need at least 256gb or more of storage, so at that point I’d just go for the pro with the m2 chip, which will be supported by ipad os longer
Thanks for that video! based on it, i bought the ipad air 2022 64gb and don't regret it, since i'm painting only in procreate and store the finished stuff elsewhere. pro: my bankaccount cries not that much & i've got it in a christmas sale this month. i drew in the past on a surface 128gb and did not manage it to fill all the diskspace with apps and data up. hope that helps for someone who is short on a budget too.
I just started considering buying an iPad like yesterday so this video is right on point! I like how you go into details and all. My eyes were on the air but I am someone needing a lot of storage (no videos but a lot of reference images, I can fill a 100 go in a few weeks 😅)) ... I also loved that you answered the question of "if an air with a bigger storage has a closer price to a pro why not directly take the pro" haha. I am going to consider the 11, I might need to save for longer than I planned but if I get something I am happy with it's worth. I wouldn't want to invest in an air only to realize it's not it. thank you for this video, it was very detailed and interesting. It answered a lot of questions and took a lot of things in consideration!

I don't believe it has taken me so long to decide and I haven't bought it earlier when I was trying to draw with photoshop and wacom tablet...Thank you for all the useful information you made it clear to me what was enough for my needs as a beginner !

Thanks for sharing your suggestions for iPads. It's really helpful to see each iPad next to each other to get a comparison for the various sized screens. I think I'm leaning towards a refurbished 11" Pro Gen3 or Gen4 with 256 GB.
great video. I am trying to use it mainly for drawing and note taking. For drawing (which will be my main use)I do want to have the ability to lay my hand on the screen and focus on detail as well. I feel that normally i prefer bigger sizes thought. Would you recommend the Air, or Pro. At the end, I am a beginner ,and while I learn quickly, I have never use procrate before. Go with what you can afford. I have the air and it works great for drawing. I'm used to screen of 12 to 16" in graphic tablet, so an 11" screen is a bit small for my own taste. I'd get a drawing glove to avoid having your hand sticking on the screen and to make it move around more easily. There's palm rejection in procreate as well. It's automatically set, so you don't have to work on that. I've been drawing on computer for a while now and a lot of programs have brushes, layers, a colour wheel and a selection tool. Though, I don't really like the hand selection tool in Procreate very much.

After looking at my iPad I realized I don’t need a lot of storage cause my iPad has 32gb and for 11 years of using it I’ve only used 26gb so I think I’m gonna buy iPad 10 64gb

Hi! I am a young artist who is looking into buying my first I pad to learn how to draw and animate! This video was very helpful on how to do that, but I really do want your opinion because I don’t really know much about apple products despite having an I phone. 😅 I’m going to use the I pad for procreate, TH-cam, and minimal reference photos. I’m not all too worried about the portability or the type of Apple Pencil ( I don’t know if I should be 🥲). My biggest concern is the storage of the i pad, will it fit all of my criteria? I don’t want something TOO expensive because I don’t have a lot of money, so I maybe thinking generation 10 with 64GB? (This is what’s in my current budget) As I said before, I am new to digital drawing and would really like to know your thoughts! Do you think I should save for the gen 10? No, I've used Apple Pencil for years before upgrading and it didn't create any limitation on my artworks. The only thing is that holding Apple Pencil 2 is easier on the fingers when you draw for a long time. My budget is personally like ipad air but 256gb but tbh I'm gonna wait since it's kinda rumored that ipad air 6 might release this nov or october and some are saying it might have 90 hrtz refresh rate and hopefully the hover feature with m2 chip what do u personally think do u think I should wait? This was helpful, but i have a few questions. We are kind of on a budget and were looking at the Ipad pro 12.9 inch, and it was wayyyyy to much money. We then found the Ipad 10th generation. I am a budding artist and i've always wanted procreate. The Ipad 10th generation is a good price for us, but i've heard it doesnt run procreate as smoothly. It also doesn't support the second gen apple pencil. Would the ipad 10th generation still be good without the newest pencil (if that even matters) or do you have advice about a different ipad that would run better entirely? Thanks for the video! I havent noticed any performance issue with Procreate on iPad 10. If you are just starting out, it’s a great choice despite using “only” Apple Pencil 1

Hi there, no worries, your English is great! Quick question - is there anything wrong with your current Android tablet - is it broken, is it slow, etc.? Bcs if you are happy with it and there is nothing wrong, why change? Now if you want to use Procreate, and you have limited budget, iPad 10 will work great ... and if you are happy with 64GB on your current tablet, then go for it!
@@artsideoflife Well, my current tablet is a 2020 Tab S6 Lite and it works well, if you don't count the side opening (I found out that it could be the glue or the battery), and the applications closing with a chance of corrupting the files (unfortunately I've already lost work like that), it's a great tablet but these details are making me very worried, so I thought about buying an iPad but people say that the iPad 10th wouldn't be good because of the non-laminated screen (the Tab S6 Lite has a laminated screen) so I'm a little afraid to buy it, Is the non-laminated screen really that bad?

Hey, that's helpful. I need your help deciding which iPad to get. I am going to start my brand (apparel) For that I want to design my own custom fabrics. I do have a laptop, I use photoshop cc 2017 but for the motifs I use a phone app called ibis. I don't have an iPad And recently I am thinking I might need one. (I am a fashion designer. I more like do designing garments and all. Never got to do textile patterns, but I learned the basic of basics in college After that I have never designed textile patterns. But now as I said I want to design custom fabrics for my brand.) And I would not change the iPad soon what I mean is I am looking for something I would use for years and years. I am also someone who needs a lot of storage. So, can you suggest to me what to do? honestly, I have no idea what to do.

Hi Bella. Glad it is helpful ❤️ The storage is important if you work with big canvas files and too many layers - then your files may become too big and fill your storage fast. Glad I could help! I’ve used Adobe Illustrator app on my iPad Pro and drawing was very smooth. When you check the latest requirements I can see they support iPadOS 14+ and recommend Apple pencil 2, so I recommend any of the iPad Pro and iPad Air if you want to have enjoyable experience using Illustrator on your iPad. Hi, I just bought ipad pro 11" M2 and I'm using procreate. Is it normal for the ipad getting heat while drawing? Im not saying it's overly heat but it quite warm compared to casual using and it makes me a lil bit uncomfortable 😂 is it a normal thing? I usually draw at 4000x3000 300 dpi

Glad I could help 😊 Great choice! 1TB will have 16GB RAM which gives you more layers in Procreate and more computational power if you are simultaneously working in different apps or for example video editing. if you work with many layers and big canvas sizes you may want to get that one. And of course if you plan to store a lot of files for references or videos, online courses, etc. otherwise 512gb is pretty sufficient. Enjoy!
For me it is im now using a xiaomi red me 9 and im improving with drawing and i noticed it holding me down as im Busy creating my own story o im need to write draw and animate on it a lot as it need a lot of storage the amount of money dossend mater if it means that nothing is holding me down with ipad would you recommend for this cause i think the last one would be the most logic for it but still i still wonder what you would recommend with great greatings veerle
If you are not constrained by budget and you want the best for art and animation go for iPad Pro 12.9 or iPad Pro 11 if you want smaller size. Enjoy!!☺️

Oh so the canvas size dictates the amount of layers? I'm planning to get an Ipad / Pro Create to drawing, but I never use a Ipad, I have just a Android Tablet with Ibis Paint and never see such a limitation, but I don't use canvas size that big so I don't know if could be a problem, usually I use sizes like ~3000x3000 300dpi or ~2000x2000, I think will not be a problem but I don't know, oh and I'm trying to get the Ipad Pro 11" M1 or the Air 5 M1

This was really helpful, I was going back and forth between the air 5 and 11’ipad pro. You rlly helped me out because I rlly need at least 256gb or more of storage, so at that point I’d just go for the pro with the m2 chip, which will be supported by ipad os longer

Thanks for that video! based on it, i bought the ipad air 2022 64gb and don't regret it, since i'm painting only in procreate and store the finished stuff elsewhere. pro: my bankaccount cries not that much & i've got it in a christmas sale this month. i drew in the past on a surface 128gb and did not manage it to fill all the diskspace with apps and data up. hope that helps for someone who is short on a budget too.

I just started considering buying an iPad like yesterday so this video is right on point! I like how you go into details and all. My eyes were on the air but I am someone needing a lot of storage (no videos but a lot of reference images, I can fill a 100 go in a few weeks 😅)) ... I also loved that you answered the question of "if an air with a bigger storage has a closer price to a pro why not directly take the pro" haha. I am going to consider the 11, I might need to save for longer than I planned but if I get something I am happy with it's worth. I wouldn't want to invest in an air only to realize it's not it.

great video. I am trying to use it mainly for drawing and note taking. For drawing (which will be my main use)I do want to have the ability to lay my hand on the screen and focus on detail as well. I feel that normally i prefer bigger sizes thought. Would you recommend the Air, or Pro. At the end, I am a beginner ,and while I learn quickly, I have never use procrate before. Go with what you can afford. I have the air and it works great for drawing. I'm used to screen of 12 to 16" in graphic tablet, so an 11" screen is a bit small for my own taste. I'd get a drawing glove to avoid having your hand sticking on the screen and to make it move around more easily. There's palm rejection in procreate as well. It's automatically set, so you don't have to work on that. I've been drawing on computer for a while now and a lot of programs have brushes, layers, a colour wheel and a selection tool. Though, I don't really like the hand selection tool in Procreate very much.

I’m going to use the I pad for procreate, TH-cam, and minimal reference photos. I’m not all too worried about the portability or the type of Apple Pencil ( I don’t know if I should be 🥲). My biggest concern is the storage of the i pad, will it fit all of my criteria? I don’t want something TOO expensive because I don’t have a lot of money, so I maybe thinking generation 10 with 64GB? No, I've used Apple Pencil for years before upgrading and it didn't create any limitation on my artworks. The only thing is that holding Apple Pencil 2 is easier on the fingers when you draw for a long time. Sounds unlikely they will put similar tech into iPad Air that is in their Pro line. But who knows 🤷♀️

This was helpful, but i have a few questions. We are kind of on a budget and were looking at the Ipad pro 12.9 inch, and it was wayyyyy to much money. We then found the Ipad 10th generation. I am a budding artist and i've always wanted procreate. The Ipad 10th generation is a good price for us, but i've heard it doesnt run procreate as smoothly. It also doesn't support the second gen apple pencil. Would the ipad 10th generation still be good without the newest pencil (if that even matters) or do you have advice about a different ipad that would run better entirely? Thanks for the video! I havent noticed any performance issue with Procreate on iPad 10. If you are just starting out, it’s a great choice despite using “only” Apple Pencil 1

My current tablet has 64 GB and is simply working fine, I really have doubts since I've never had an Apple device and unfortunately I don't know anyone with a device or stores to test it in so I would like some recommendations.

Hi there, no worries, your English is great! Quick question - is there anything wrong with your current Android tablet - is it broken, is it slow, etc.? Bcs if you are happy with it and there is nothing wrong, why change? Now if you want to use Procreate, and you have limited budget, iPad 10 will work great ... and if you are happy with 64GB on your current tablet, then go for it!
@@artsideoflife Well, my current tablet is a 2020 Tab S6 Lite and it works well, if you don't count the side opening (I found out that it could be the glue or the battery), and the applications closing with a chance of corrupting the files (unfortunately I've already lost work like that), it's a great tablet but these details are making me very worried, so I thought about buying an iPad but people say that the iPad 10th wouldn't be good because of the non-laminated screen (the Tab S6 Lite has a laminated screen) so I'm a little afraid to buy it, Is the non-laminated screen really that bad?

Hey, that's helpful. I need your help deciding which iPad to get. I am going to start my brand (apparel) For that I want to design my own custom fabrics. I do have a laptop, I use photoshop cc 2017 but for the motifs I use a phone app called ibis. I don't have an iPad And recently I am thinking I might need one. (I am a fashion designer. I more like do designing garments and all. Never got to do textile patterns, but I learned the basic of basics in college After that I have never designed textile patterns. Hi Bella. Glad it is helpful ❤️ The storage is important if you work with big canvas files and too many layers - then your files may become too big and fill your storage fast. Glad I could help! I’ve used Adobe Illustrator app on my iPad Pro and drawing was very smooth. When you check the latest requirements I can see they support iPadOS 14+ and recommend Apple pencil 2, so I recommend any of the iPad Pro and iPad Air if you want to have enjoyable experience using Illustrator on your iPad. Hi, I just bought ipad pro 11" M2 and I'm using procreate. Is it normal for the ipad getting heat while drawing? Im not saying it's overly heat but it quite warm compared to casual using and it makes me a lil bit uncomfortable 😂 is it a normal thing? I usually draw at 4000x3000 300 dpi
It might happen if you are charging it while you are drawing or if you are running too many apps with too many processes.

I'm planning on getting an iPad Pro M2 2022 but I can´t decide between 512GB or 1TB storage.
I'd mainly use it for illustration on Procreate and ocassional Adobe Creative Suite use.
What would you suggest? :)
Glad I could help 😊 Great choice! 1TB will have 16GB RAM which gives you more layers in Procreate and more computational power if you are simultaneously working in different apps or for example video editing. if you work with many layers and big canvas sizes you may want to get that one. And of course if you plan to store a lot of files for references or videos, online courses, etc. otherwise 512gb is pretty sufficient. Enjoy!

So far I have been using Canva only in my browser so can't say but you can search for Canva app requirement on their website.
For me it is im now using a xiaomi red me 9 and im improving with drawing and i noticed it holding me down as im Busy creating my own story o im need to write draw and animate on it a lot as it need a lot of storage the amount of money dossend mater if it means that nothing is holding me down with ipad would you recommend for this cause i think the last one would be the most logic for it but still i still wonder what you would recommend with great greatings veerle
If you are not constrained by budget and you want the best for art and animation go for iPad Pro 12.9 or iPad Pro 11 if you want smaller size. Enjoy!!☺️

This was so helpful, i love and appritate all the thought put into this video, but i had a bit trouble watc thing through it all. I'm doing research to get an iPad tablet and apple pencil for my sister as a Christmas gift. I'm planning to get an Ipad / Pro Create to drawing, but I never use a Ipad, I have just a Android Tablet with Ibis Paint and never see such a limitation, but I don't use canvas size that big so I don't know if could be a problem, usually I use sizes like ~3000x3000 300dpi or ~2000x2000, I think will not be a problem but I don't know, oh and I'm trying to get the Ipad Pro 11" M1 or the Air 5 M1
