    Yep, I was using an iPad Pro 12.9” gen 2 and lost my Apple Pencil, and decided I would buy the 2024 iPad Air 13” because the Apple Pencil Pro has Find My, and overall was a really good deal. I was worried about going from a Pro model to an Air because the screen movements aren’t as fluid, and I will say, sometimes I notice weird lags in Procreate when switching layers and brushes, but considering my old pro will stop receiving software updates, and I didn’t have a lot of extra money laying around to splurge on another Pro model, I am very happy with my 13” Air. I’m also just a hobbyist so I didn’t feel the need to go crazy and get the Pro! Before I was in art school which justified the Pro model, but now I just do it as a hobby.

    Omg you made this video just in time for Black Friday! Such a big decision with the cost and life span considered, it's actually hard to know which one to pick! I have a 10th Gen iPad 10.9" 64Gb and you get 19 layers at 16"x16" 300dpi on Procreate (not 7 which this video suggests). When you factor in the gen 1vs2 pencil and the current 20% discounts most retails have at the moment its way lees than half the cost of an entry level iPad Air.

      @@lukewalker3 That's helpful to know . I have no experience with digital art or any of these devices ( my ancient iPad is 2011 which i only use for kindle now ) but i'm looking for an affordable device to expand my basic art techniques . £350 for an iPad sounds really cheap and the iPad 10th sounds like it might be just what i need, can i use Procreate with that and can you recommend anywhere for me to find one at that price or thereabouts ?

    I have just bought the 13" Pro M4 though have yet to unbox it, and am so disgusted at how much I spent, I'm considering exchanging for the 13" Air. Do you find 120Hz helps with painting? If overheating is a real issue then that might tip me over

    I’ve always wanted a bigger screen to draw and animate on, I’ve been using my iPhone 11 and my finger and it’s bearable but annoying..
    so I decided to look into iPads! I thought the 10th generation would be good for me, since it’s my first iPad, but I got an Apple Pencil 2nd generation for Christmas (along with my sisters since they both have iPads) and I definitely like the wireless charging on it, so I don’t want to return it. Luckily, I’ve decided that the iPad Air 2024 11” is the best for me! :)

    although i agree with everything theres a slight mistake(?) new pro's screen isnt just brighter, it also has better colors that pop more vibrantly compared to the air models! i can assure you that screen makes a huge difference when you look at then side by side but ofc its not a need! ipad lcd screens are already great so if you like the screen quality as it is no need to choose the pro instead of the air!

      Big difference, the 13" iPad Air from 2024 (the gen 6 if they call it that) is what I recommend: it's compatible with the Apple Pencil Pro, has a bigger screen, and gets a little brighter.

    120 oled and promotion are absolutly worth it after using m2 air and m4 pro side by side at the same time the difference is like yea. but if you are a casual and just doing it for fund and dont care that much or dont have money to buy one get whatever fits your budget and 1/2tb isnt worth it and nano screen actually kinda sucks if it gets scratched its over those bumps dont hold up well your better off with paperlike and a tempered glass screen protector

  • @johnradium9994

    Funny enough I watch the previous 2024 video a few months ago to decide which IPad was best. One thing you forgot to mention and I think is a breaking decision for most people is Pro Motion as drawing on 120hz or 60hz can be wildly different. Though the new pencil pro is nice and is useful, having a more faster/fluid screen is personally more of a priority for drawing experience.
    Anyway, enough of my yapping. Your videos are truly amazing and thank you so much for the procreate/art education! ❤

  • @yogeshvaran
    @yogeshvaran 29 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    One clarification - when you indicate 41 layers, which rgb size are you referencing it against? Because that is crucial factor when it comes to procreate. I use procreate on iPad Air 2nd Gen.
    I have used more than 41 layers when I create a page based on screen size.
    It is only when one moves to RGB mode, the layers play a major role.
    Thoughts?

    I have not watched this video, but I am very confused as to why this video was even made as the BEST iPad for Art programs is the best iPad, the M4 iPad Pro 13". The 11" model is equally great for people on more of a budget or who find the 13" model too cumbersome, but for the best experience when using Procreate or other art apps, the better processor of the M4 iPad Pro means faster rendering and less lag and the real estate of the 13" is easier to work with needing less zooming in and out. Also I believe you need to have the iPad Pro in order to use the newer Pencil Pro with its upgraded features.
