This was a great review, to be honest I’ve been routing for the badlands to perform exactly as you showed.
I think some people put a lot of concern into these things breaking but honestly it’s a floor Jack, they should last a decade with no issues!
When it comes to a problem IF you ever had one harbor freight is almost no questions asked for an exchange and only a drive up the street to do it.
Budget or not I think I’d rather have two badlands jacks over one pro eagle for the same price. One for the truck AND one for the garage!
Appreciate it. I think it's a great jack
There is absolutely zero science behind this review, yet it 100% covers most questions out there 😂 Solid review, I'm taking my 3ton extension Jack back and getting one of these after seeing you put it through the paces 👍🏽
I'm not smart enough for science.
@@GrimRZR you and me both brotha 😂 The actions are enough for me. I’m driving to HF now to return this Jack I got yesterday and placing an order for the badlands.
@@Fahrenheit_Motorsports awesome
best review I've seen yet of these two jacks. Thanks!
Appreciate that
On every SXS forum I'm on the Badlands has been the main topic of conversation ever since HF launched them. Just based on the sheer number of Badlands being sold by HF, I'm guessing Pro Eagle is having to rethink their price point. About a year ago I bought the 911 Motorsports conversion kit for the 1.5 ton HF jack, and I think this new Badlands is probably going to put them out of business.
I don't know exactly how they will fair over time but from just using it to start with it's going to be what I would get. I need to find the forums and ask what everyone thinks of my video. If they agree or not
they certainly act like they don't want to adapt, either way they're going to be kicking and screaming. They added an infographic on the Kratos webpage filled with mostly misinformation/outright lies or irrelevant marketing points and then in the review section someone thinks the product would be better off with a handle lock, but the store owner feigns that there's no issues with maneuverability without it. Yeah, because giving up the swivel casters doesn't come with any pitfalls.
They're going to eat some serious shit if they don't adapt quick. Harbor Freight's already got a great floor jack reputation due to the Daytonas. And this Badland has been cleaning house in every single TH-cam review/comparison. Pro Eagle probably praying Project Farm doesn't put their product up against the Badland and the CAT anytime soon, because that'll really do them in.
I agree....i was looking to do the same thing ...until the Badlands jack came out......
I’ve had my pro-eagle for a couple of months now and some kind of handle locking mechanism has been on my wish list the whole time.
That locking mechanism is a game changer, I just hope pro-eagle offer some kind of accessory to compare.
Looked at the 911 conversion and that price is insane. Thanks for the tip!
Just discovered your channel watching this. Subbed. The very best most non bias comparison we could hope for. I'm just an 80 yrs old low bucks man up in the mountains guy using these off road Jeep etc rigs to get up the trail to my cabin. Not a Rock bouncer. They're both heavy for me but price wise and what I've seen in your review it's a no brainer. HF wins. Thanks Dandahermit
Really appreciate the compliment. Welcome to the channel
My neighbor bought a Pro Eagle before COVID, he paid right around $300 for it, and that was with a veterans discount. Then all of a sudden they jumped to $600, when HF introduced theirs I paid $250 and it was one of the early jacks. I have been nothing but impressed, lifting my SxS, and my 4x4 it makes things much easier to work on.
Hard to pay double for a pro eagle
Good video and review. Keep up the good work.
Thank you
I was counting the number of pulls on the jack handle when you were lifting. The Badlands beat the Eagle by at least 2 pulls every time. On soft ground the Badlands won by at least 5 pulls.
Sweet. I think it's a really good jack to have for SxS stuff
Great video!! And perfect timing. I was getting ready to buy a pro eagle. Think I’m gonna give the bad land jack a shot & save some $$!!
Thanks
Glad it helped
I have to say you did an excellent job!!! I do reviews on products as well, and have been looking for information on this jack to buy for outside use.... this video will show people exactly the questions i had as to whether the extra $ is worth it in the end. Excellent job!!!!
Appreciate it
@@GrimRZR I've watched probably 10 videos on this jack, your video did the best job... also a huge plus that you had both jacks!! If I do a video on one, I will list yours in the description.
@@RoadHardRoadhouse that would be awesome. Thank you. I still think it's a great value
Great review i was eyeing up the CAT version as the local off road shop. As much as i hate HF some of their stuff is really well built and a great value the real question is warranty and long term support.
You are right. For how much I use mine its going to be good either way
Great review
Just bought the badlands jack. Had to get it from a harbor freight over an hour away! Noone had them in stock! Seems like a stout jack. I run a mobile mechanic business and we jack up vehicles on gravel and grass all the time and this is gunna do it for us!
It's been great so far
Awesome video.. you have helped me make mine mind up … going to ring a bad lands jack .
I will probably get one too
Thanks, watched a few videos and haven't seen anyone choose the Pro Eagle jack over the Badlands yet, I'll keep looking.
Thanks for the review.
Very helpful
( I'm going to need 2 of them, I can't see paying double the price for very little difference ( I'll buy the warranty on one of them, I'm covered for a few years....)
Appreciate it. ProEagle didn't have much competition before
The comparison everyone wanted to see. It would be interesting to see if any of the hydraulic parts are compatible for future repairs. Also I don't believe the Pro Eagle is made in the USA, so I don't really see a $300. advantage there but time will tell. The Pro Eagle does have a really good track record, so there's that. Being able to rebuild your jack is a big advantage as well, but for half the money, I think the Badlands is a no-brainer for those on a budget. And hopefully someone will figure out where to find the parts necessary to rebuild the hydraulics (HFT are you listening). This was the video I wanted to see before I bought one. Thanks!
I have recently heard that you can find part numbers on the Badlands easily so maybe replacement parts would be available
@@GrimRZR I thought I heard HF will support/ sell the parts but you'll need to call customer service to order them - i.e. you won't be able to just click-and-buy on your own like you can with Pro Eagle.
If so, I can 1000% live with that.
@@etmccaus I've heard that too but haven't tried to confirm anything yet. That would be sweet
Good review buddy!
Appreciate it
just bought my badland today, its a no brainer
It's been awesome
A very uplifting video
Lol. I see what you did there. Thanks
Wow, great video, and the science behind it all lmfao. The zip tie part was super technical, haha. But for real awesome video and great comparisons, can you please do one for bud light and coors light?
Appreciate that. Im not a beer drinker so that would be pretty tough. Maybe a YooHoo and Nestle Quik or something like that.
@Grim RZR that will work sprite vs squirt lol.
@@vazpaii2000 I'm on it
I noticed the extension was coming unlocked on the pro when you dragged it accross the yard. At least it looked as if it was turning out.
It didn't seem to cause any issues and was nice and fast to change out but for me I like the bolted on version better.
I noticed that the extension on the Pro Eagle was quite a bit larger in diameter than the one on the Badlands which I would think might account for the difference in it's stored hight. I might get a Badlands jack because I use my floor jack outside every once in a while and it's a real pain in the rump moving it around out there. Harbor Freight had really come a long ways with it's quality. They used to sell real junk but not any more, I've been pretty impressed with everything I've gotten from there. It's just about my favorite store these days.
I like the Badlands for sure
Also at KOH BF Goodrich had the badlands in their garage that was setup to fix any broke vehicles at KOH, which was free service. They had all badlands and swore by them, so I went and bought it. Also, the pro eagle ait jack is the best thing since slice bread, I have it and when you get a flat on the trial it's awesome. So I have both brands lol?
Nice. I'm in for what works not what name is on it
Another advantage of the Badlands is, if you’re u can time it right, you can use a 20% off coupon, saving $60!
Great point.
I have the badlands and I love will go across almost anything
It works great
You need to seal your driveway!!! Just kidding. Really like this vid. Tool comparison is always appreciated. Thanks for posting
I haven't sealed it it probably 4 yrs. I'm sure it would look nicer. Lol. You're welcome
@@GrimRZR how well does Roxxzillas do in the mud?
@@davidedwards5474 I avoid mud as much as I can do I don't have much to go on
Good stuff
Thank you
Great video! I think I counted 13 pumps bad lands to 18 pumps pro eagle on the rzr lift??
I didn't count but they both were very easy
I like harbor freight’s Badlands line, I have their Apex Winch and it’s been Awesome! My only issue with Harbor freight is getting parts or accessories in the past, so that’s my only misgivings about the Badlands Jack…
I haven't tried to get any parts yet
You don't need to get parts. Just buy the extended warranty for 1 year, take it in every year and get a new one. Just renew the warranty
@@Blue_Flame_Raptor nice
I just noticed this jack was out. I've got two 4x4 trucks and needed a jack. Just went and bought the badlands. I used a 10% coupon and bought the 2 year replacement instead of 90 day standard warranty. Total after tax like 375. Hoping it works out well for me. Tired of blocks and bottle jacks.
I think you will be happy with it. So far so good for me
@@GrimRZR great to hear that yours is still doing well. I got that extended plan just in case. Thanks for the vid. Def helped me out. Be safe out there!
I have a PE and its been great. No regrets and with the extended adaptor its made cycling my Jeep with coilovers and 40" tires easy.
That said this Badlands will be my second buy as an additional and hopefully HF will offer a list of accessories like PE does. What I'm curious about is if the extension section of the PE slides into the base on the HF.
There really isn't anything for it to slide into
@@GrimRZR Doesn't the center section lift out of the base that bolts to the jack? It has to move up and down to pin in for height. That's the only downside for the HF is I need the longer 10" adapter for height.
@@highwayman1218 the tube section of the extension is definitely a different size. It would not be hard to make a longer one though
@@GrimRZR Got it, thx. I was hoping they were close enough, U could order the 10" and just slip it into the HF base and GTG. The HF is still on the radar as a second Jeep jack. Thanks
What was the hight of both before you jacked them up? Looked like the badlands was taller when they were side by side at lowest.
I will have to go back and look.
I’m grabbing the Badland for my first ever Jack for $249. HF has a special June 2024
Nice. Glad it was helpful
@@GrimRZRthink it beats the Daytona?
@@appleztooranges never had one of those
@@GrimRZR rav4 is 10” clearance. Will this make it under?
@@appleztooranges I hope so
I just pre ordered the Badlands jack and if you have an inside track club membership you can get 20% off and that took $60 bucks off the price so with tax it was $259
Sweet deal
tried pre-ordering here in S.California and they don't do this for this particular product. Not sure why.. Good to know they take the track club discount being this is a new item.
@@denz5085 makes it even better
I've been seeing pro mechanics using Harbour Freights jacks, I doubt this off road jack is any less than those they sold. I've been looking for one to buy (Dec 23) but their all out of stock. I usually bring a Hi-lft jack & this will be a great addition to it.
I think it's a pretty good jack. Hi-lifts always seem to have issues when I tried using one
@@GrimRZR Hi-lifts have their own use, unfortunately for my truck I don't have a jackpoint for me to lift (using hi-lift) to change tires so I normally jimmy rig something to be able to use the hi-lift when changing tires (which is rather sketchy) I have a E350 4x4 van that sits high.
I saw some using some harbor freight blue jacks look alikes, but they are a brand you'd find at an autozone store for like twice the price of HF. And some tire shops do have hf ones
@Just Chillin Most likely, these Chinese products have been re-branded 10x. Probably Pro Eagle is also manufactured from the same place, contract expired so it's all out for other brands.
Wasn't aware of the badlands brand, but I sure need to find something. This turbo r has so much droop that it's sketchy with all the blocks I have to stack to get the tires off the ground.
It works good on mine. I have seen it jack up a turbo r on 35s
Order my jack right before Christmas and was told 2 weeks, 2 weeks later was told the 27th of January. Went in on the 28th and now they say maybe the end of March. Hope you aren’t in a hurry if you order one of these.
I didn't even know you could order them
@@GrimRZR they let me order mine, but I am thinking I might be canceling my order and getting something else as it seems like I might be waiting a while and kind of need it now.
@@groundzero6129 maybe just call some that are close by every now and then to see if they have one
I laughed when you dumped the zip-ties on the floor. It looked like something Wile E. Coyote would do to try and catch the Roadrunner. (Were they Acme brand zip-ties, at least?)
I figured people would relate
Unfortunately I have had to use the Harbor Freight warranty on a winch (for my sxs) and was super easy and no questions asked.
Good to hear it went smoothly
That plastic thing is for shipping purposes, keeps profile low so it can fit in the box
Makes sense
Great video this helped me decide what route to take. I’m going to grab the Pittsburgh 1.5 ton from HF and do my own big wheel conversion.
Awesome. I figured it would be close to the same cost
I’m a machinist so it will be a lot cheaper. Your video gave me a good look at both jacks and what I want to copy. Again thanks!
@@goinwheelin nice. Glad it helped.
I just used the badlands to rotate the tires on my Cummins 4x4 truck. It worked great. I have another harbor freight jack that is ten years old and still works great after years of abuse off-road. I’ll take two badlands over one pro eagle any day. These are car jacks not rocket ships
Im with you on that.
@@GrimRZR great job on the video man. Totally made it for your average blue collar guy. Answered all the questions that people could think of.
@@yourfavoritewelder3162 appreciate it
Can you compare both of them vs the Cat 3 Ton Big Wheel Off Road Hybrid Jack - 240330? Less then the Pro Eagle, More then the BadLands. :D
I did see that Jack come up. I was just borrowing them for a video. Maybe if I knew someone that had a cat jack
I'm convinced that they are both made by the same Chinese factory, especially since the main pumps are the same, same wheels, same extension strap locations etc. The only major difference is the lock on the handle for maneuverability.
Very possible
Great review but I was going to say that the parts for that pro eagle are probably going to cost you more than the Jack from Badlands
Probably so
My harbor freight can’t even keep them on the shelf and still not available online.
Hopefully the stock will catch up
People will say “ components are better” on the Pro Eagle but I think that’s because the Badlands comes from HB. Don’t sleep on HB because they are pumping out quality products now. Their winches are designed by former Warn engineer.
Good to know
I know somebody need one enjoyed watching 👍😍❤️🍑
Everyone needs one
Badland for the win 🏁👍🏻
Absolutely
Harbor freight has a parts department and said they will supply parts for the jack you just call them the # is on the website.
That makes it even better. Appreciate the info
911 motorsports has tons of accessories for the badlands
Awesome
Will this jack up a standard car
Yes
Can you use the pro Eagle mount for the banland ? Has anyone tried?
I haven't tried
Doesn’t fit
@@Speed-ku6jx I didn't think it would
The big difference is the quality of the components. Quality of the piston, the o-rings, etc. That will come into play over time. For the price difference, I too will go with the Harbor Freight jack.
It's hard to tell that in this short amount of time. Really have to consider how often you plan on using these too. Commercial or industrial use may wear them out quickly compared to me at home using it a couple times a month are always a factor
You might have me sold on a Badland Jack.
Its been great so far
They need wheel locks like a pin that you can push through the wheel into the body I almost lost a few fingers do to the wheels moving way to easy we use floor jacks to lift up RV slide outs as I was lifting a slide out the damn badlands jack moved backwards slamming the slide out downwards thank God I saw the f floor jack moving I will never use this badlands floor jack again I'll stick to the original floor jacks
It's probably not great for that
The only thing I cared that it won't let a whole truck crush me to death 😅
Not a fan using blocks to reach my lifted truck
Definitely not a fan if the jack fails or slips in bad floor conditions
Good point
The plastic thing just holds the handle down during transport to make the packaging more compact. And yeah you’ll bend the shit out of that bar if you don’t pull it out first…
That said they could have just added a second lock notch to the whole handle lock thing…
I thought that's what it was for
Just a normal Costco arcan type of jack with bigger wheel and extension and cost 6times more expensive.
It worked good
I'm getting the Badland it's half the price and it has the locking handle and bothe are made in China.
You didn't tell us why you have both Jack's.
PLUS Harbor Freight always offers 10% 20% 25% 30% off
Great deals when you catch it
$300 now! Harbor Freight
I think you can get discount codes too
I’ll take the badlands! For the money! You’ll get a lot more and basically same quality!
I agree
It’s a Daytona with offroad suspension
It works though
If you wanted to count pumps, badlands took less pumps.🤔
Thank you
Goes to show that the more expensive option isn't always best! Also to all the cucks that say satv is the harbor freight of parts heres a good example to "the most expensive isn't always the best"!
The more expensive version was really all by itself for a long time.
@@GrimRZR very true!
Horror Freight’s Badlands jack is just their 3 ton aluminum race jack just modified…
Im sure it is. Works good like this for what I need.
@@GrimRZR yeah that’s good and an extra few 100s in your pocket, definitely a cheaper alternative. But to each their own.
What I have noticed in the videos is that the PE rolls much easier. I have the 2 ton and I’m kinda finding it annoying. ANY decline whatsoever it starts to roll.
Not saying Horror Freight is horrible, but I too have their 3 ton aluminum jack and after a year of use, it doesn’t raise anymore. I’m constantly trying to fix it, which it irritates me.
@@jerryclleung I've heard you can look up part numbers for replacement
@@GrimRZR excellent thx, will look into that! 👍
Zip ties 2 , Jacks 0
It was dramatically better than a regular floor jack
From all the videos i have seen i dont see any reason to spend the extra $300
Me neither
Both made in China. HF's is equal, if not better. When it comes to offroad stuff, HF is NOT what it used to be. It's waaaaay better. Their Badlands Apex 12000 winch is better than a Warn, which is shit nowadays. And costs half of a what a Warn costs. There is something to be said about buying shit made gucci crap. I don't buy for the name. I buy it because it works and works well.
It worked great for me
