Convert Adapter to Wireless Card Reader | Just another click bait? [ESP8266 FTP SERVER]

- A normal micro SD to SD adapter is converted into a wireless Card reader using esp12E with FTP support.
Files can be transferred to SD and also files can be copied from SD to any device where you can run an FTP client. In this video, I used the AndFTP client for Android and the same process can be followed in PC by using WinSCP.

I was making this exact same thing, i referred the same videos as you did and was thinking of implementing using http. I made the hardware and uploaded the code got from the G6EJD channel. On uploading a file larger than 10 MB caused the ESP8266 to freeze and reboot, I tried to find the reason but all i could find was that there was a buffer overrun, I then tried to make a version with a card reader and esp8266 such that whenever the card reader was powered the esp8266 must make the SPI lines input and go into deepSleep and then resume its process on battery power once the USB is unplugged, that didn't work too. Thank you for all your efforts into FTP. I'm waiting for the ESP32-S2 too but it doesn't support SD_MMC.

That is a very cool project but a real bummer that you can't interface the USB data lines with the 8266. I was looking for a wireless USB solution for my 3D printer without having to resort to wasting a Pi Zero W just for that. Thanks for sharing your experiment!
Hi i have a question maybe you can help me..i want to use USB Stick to the SD slot.there must be some way. my problem is in the car it is mercedes glk with comand ntg4 it has sd slot but no usb. I would like to convert this socket to USB.

actually 6 years ago, i have a friend who owns a seagate hard disk that has wifi connectivity so you can do access if you connect to the wifi of the disk. the cost is 4x the normal hard disk back then.

USB or hard disk won't be possible with esp8266, maybe if you use esp32-S2 you can use USB but will still lack hard disk.

Could you please make a tutorial on how to use esp8266 for wirelessly assessing power devices paired to our account like by using Google assistant or Amazon Alexa to control devices. No with the circuit it won't work, try replacing the esp-12E with ESP32_S2

Try the Transcend WiFiSD or PQI Air Card (microSD to SD with WiFi) - it's been hacked by Dmitry.GR to run Ubuntu, and fits nicely in the back of my iPod!

I can not run the program, when compiled there is an error in the Wireless_SD section,
more precisely on SD. begin (2) // 2 indicates the Chip select pin.

@@Neutrino1 this is now working, I was running on the arduino IDE there were some errors even though I had completed the libraries it needed. after that I run the program on platform_io program no problem, and program successfully. thank you for making this project, very useful, i am very happy.

Use two different esp12e module 1 as wifi jammer and another as fake capative portal of any type like college server with custom ip for login or local attendance system block network from one esp and start fake copy server from another use it as password grabber

No, that's not possible. There is not option for USB, so only FTP will process.

Would you please show me a way how to use this project without using access-point, because I want to use my router in this project. I want to connect the esp8266 to my router, and also the FTP client to the router. I have a Desktop PC, which doesn't have an inbuilt WIFI module, so I am unable to use this method with my PC unless I use my router in this project. I can use my phone for this, but if I could use it on my PC, it would be more helpful. I am waiting for your reply.

I did it! Everything works great. SD pins should be connected like this: mosi-hspimosi, miso-hspimiso, cs-gpio2, sclk-hspiclk. I connected all GNDs to the SD card just in case. The SD card must be FAT32. The speed is small. Like dialup. But it's still better than nothing at all.
