I just got my Sage Green, Grey interior 05 this past week. It was a one owner garaged car. Perfect interior. I’m so happy I researched this model and now I own my very own. Hard work and patience pay off. To think that 2 yrs ago I was taking the bus and now I’m driving around in a Lexus :)
Proud Lexus owner here and I can say that nothing beats the quality build and long term performance of my 05 ES330!!! I have only good things to say about the car and my friends
My 2005 Lexus ES330 just had it's FIRST major service at 157,000 miles (254,000 km) This included timing belt (its first) water pump (first), air filter (sixth), spark plugs (first) and full fluids (first). Up until this point, the only service I regularly performed was 15,000 mile oil (synthetic), had the brake pads changed twice and still have THE ORIGINAL brake rotors all around ! This service cost me $1200 and all the others were a total of about $1300 for a grand total of $2500 over 10 years using a local, master mechanic and NOT the Lexus dealership. This means a total of $250 yearly and It still drives JUST LIKE NEW ! I am amazed. 90 mph at 3000 rpm feels like 50 mph in a Ford...
Though dad had lots of US cars, he switched to the new LS400 in the '80's (he loved it, then totaled it in a snow/roll-over accident), then bought an early nineties ES250, which he also loved. After losing everything to medical, my wife and I have been driving beaters for the past 5 years, and hers (with 212k miles) finally died an ugly blown head gasket/head warpage death. We considered newer imports (Hyundai Sonata, VW Passat, Nissan Maxima), and I found this '06 ES330, with navigation, 6+1 CD player, all the bells & whistles in this video, and only 46,000 miles for $12,700. It's now 10 years old, but just one beautiful car! Alternator went out within the first week, but with simple hand tools, I changed it in an hour with TH-cam help for $107, and had to tighten the front/right strut nut with an impact wrench, but everything now works perfectly, fitment of doors are that of a new car, I was more than happy to exchange the slightly lower gas mileage for the 200+ horse power v-6 (steep grades/passing no longer an issue), so though it has been compared as being too close to the Camry, Lexus broke from Toyota's design/manufacturing plants (finally their own entity) just before this car was redesigned, and the Lexus plants have far higher standards in regard to fitment, paint, and their assembly techs are far more scrutinized than those of Toyota's, meaning this is one of the most reliable pieces of rolling luxury on the road. Made the mistake of driving our ES330 before even looking at the similarly priced (5 years newer) Sonata, and one year newer Accord, but the interior approaches breathtaking. The maple woodwork on the dash, steering wheel, and all doors oozes luxury, and not only heated, but cooled seats, and automatic rain sensors, which automatically detect rain, the amount of rain, and adjust accordingly, rear window electronic shade, steering wheel mounted Bluetooth and audio controls, dual zone air conditioning settings, let alone the Nav system, which worked beautifully on our now weekly joy rides? I'm age 59, have owned lots of new and used cars & trucks, and this car (unlike my old Porsche), doesn't have the *to be expected* BS electrical issues Beemer's & Porsche's have. Benz's have the same, stupid problems, yet the Japanese actually took the time to design around such potential problems, so I don't have to worry about that kind of BS, or at least until I hit 300k miles, and if I do, at least the Lexus 3.3 liter engine doesn't have to be pulled for me to perform most necessary maintenance issues, like timing belts, or bolt-on parts. Loving this car more and more every day!!!
Scott Douglas MacLachlan haha I am 18 and have owned mine for 2 years now. I bought it with 180,000 miles and now it has 230,000. It is BEST car for long trips to Vegas and San Diego’s and Bay Area. I have every option like yours, and it’s just unbelievable good car, I only payed $5,000 for mine and it’s just beautiful immaculate condition everything works flawlessly
@@805NAVE I'm looking at buying one for $6,500 with 149,000 miles on it, is that considered a good deal? I've never looked at luxury cars before so I have no idea. My other options are a Hyundai Santa Fe and a Honda Civic but this car seems to have higher reviews.
These are AMAZING Cars!!! I just bought a Gold Metallic one last year and it runs and drives beautifully! Easily one of the best sedans I've ever owned. Love It!!!
Aside from the current and upcoming Lexus GS350, this is one of my favorite Lexus models. My dad also has a 2009 ES350 which I think is really nice too. Glad to see a full review of the ES330!
I thought the same thing, I was looking at the es350 as a possible next car but man the interior is so bare looking, wish I could have that exterior with this interior
kgisabeast Exactly. The 97-01 ES300 had a nice exterior and nice (at the time) interior. The 02-06 ES300/330 had the nice interior but blah exterior. If you could combined the ES330 interior with the ES350 exterior...seems like the rightful replacement to the 97-01 ES300 as it would have a slightly squarish, masculine exterior and an improved, opulent interior.
They all bought and scrapped their bmws while this car is still running strong somewhere in the world... Ought to see if I can spot the ViN and do a lookup to see if it is in fact still going strong.
I love this car. I've been driving one for a few months that I'm technically borrowing due to the fact that I had to scrap my Nissan. This car has the best sound system ever. It has 208,000 miles on it and just keeps going. Runs like a dream. The worst part about the car is the gas mileage - it sucks on this car.
What mileage were you getting? I get about 28MPG city/hwy and if I drive hwy conservativly, 58 to 60 mph I get just a hair over 33mpg, that is pretty good for a V6 with the get up and go this car has.
So excited to get this tomorrow morning! Imagine this car but a smooth SEXY maroon wine red exterior. Or maybe it’s horrible and I change the color but so excited! First car 70k miles on it for $7k(used clean title). Nice first car hopefully the gas doesn’t kill my wallet too much
These cars are far from being exciting but they're amazing value when bought used. Comfy, quiet and reliable. This is the kind of car you want on a long trip.
The engine in ES330 and ES350 is so quiet after initial warm up that with slight outside ambient wind noise of 5 mph, you can't hear the engine idling at 15 feet away. I also often times restarted my running engine while seated in my car getting ready to drive somewhere...
Hey Kyle, when i was young, i'd see these cars EVERYWHERE, i really liked them, they looked much nicer then other luxury cars in my opinion, what do u think, Kyle? (PLEASE REPSOND)
My mom and my pop pop in New Year’s Eve got a 2005 Lexus rx330 0 down and it’s like a light blueish green very nice and good car only got 130,000 miles runs good
This comment is two years after yours, but May I ask how much you paid?? They are selling me one at $5,500 with 122k miles. Not sure if it’s a good deal
225hp. Add on a new exhaust, and a new filter, and possibility a upgraded chip and you have about 250hp. Or you can do a 3.5 Toyota V6 swap and then add on the mods, so it's about 295hp. I want one so bad!!!
My mom has a silver one and its interior is dark gray and overcast (cloudy sky) gray... she was bought used at lexus of mobile for $11,950. R.I.P to my mom's Lexus RX330 (2005-2014). Totaled in an accident...
This car is more than a rebadged Camry. Go drive one. I personally dislike the exterior, but the quality of the interior, and thickness/softness of the leather and materials is out of this world and make the Camry interior seem like it was put together by Fisher Price
I'm gonna buy a Lexus someday! I Love Lexus'! My grandma drives a 92 SC 300, my grandpa used to drive a 92' LS 400 & my uncle drives a LX 470 (Don't know what year it is). My grandma's gonna finally sell her SC 300 & buy the 2012 ES 350.
Update: I finally bought my first Lexus! A 2017 IS200t F-Sport. Gray exterior with red leather interior! Bought it 4 months ago for only $27,500 in great shape with only 15k miles! Car's very smooth & has been excellent so far! Huge improvement overall over my previous 2015 Toyota Camry XSE V6.
Update #2: Just traded in my IS & bought a 2016 GS350 F-Sport (white exterior, red interior) three months ago & is even better! Had 41k miles when I bought it & paid $28k. Still has the original window sticker & was originally priced at $58k when it was new. Has over 30 more features than what my IS had.
Kyle i remember you mentioned on your Facebook page that your 2007 ES350 had some problems and the customer service was bad but what about your 2002 ES300 that got totaled? Was it a dependable car during the time that you had it?
Man I love the ES-330 & ES-300 I currently have a 2005 Rav4 S. Hoping to get one next year As a second vehicle so that way my Mom can get my Rav4 to replace her POS 2006 Ford Taurus that way she has a reliable car and have a nice reliable luxury car myself.
@ 0:25 is that a 2010 or 2011 Camry? I have the same exact one in the super white and mines a LE trim and has 179,600 miles. And it’s a 2010. With the 2.5L SMPI dual vvt-i and a 6 speed auto. Makes 169 hp.
I would say what motivates him is the chance to review a reliable and affordable luxury car that will not become an endless money pit like mercedes bmw porsche lambo, etc....
Holy smokes this is a throwback! Funnily enough, over the last 8 years I've met and talked with Kyle on a few occasions and can totally understand his motivation to review cars like these--cheers!
you said regular unleaded gas. the manual says use premium for better performance but if can't find premium use. i would like to use 87 because big difference in price. have you found regular still has good performance?
Yea, but your car is 25 years old! You can expect that from ANY 25 year old car. Over the past months, I have noticed a slight valve ping under heavy load, but normal driving is 100% with the cheaper fuel. I suspect as I get another 25K miles on it, I will have to switch to better fuel. At that point, the car will have 250,000 miles...
kyle.... please please please do a 2006-2009 infiniti m35 i know u have one on your Channel but it was one of the old videos, so please do another one in wheat interior if u can
Hated the 05. The seats were very stiff and uncomfortable, the dash would shrink and the airbag compartment would start to pop out. The transmission would randomly upshift and downshift and had a dangerous 1 second delay upon acceleration. It's a beautiful well built vehicle no doubt, but those quirks alone for me were a deal breaker.
Just liek a Cadillac is basically a Chevy, A Lincoln is basically a Ford, Infiniti is basically a Nissan. Mercedes and BMW's are now owned by Chrysler Corporation. Toyota is the best built and most reliable caron the planet. Who wouldn't want a top of the line car such as LEXUS which is made by Toyota(#1 car in sales)

I just bought a pearl white 05 a couple days ago 140k drives excellent
It rides exactly like my 97 Camry and all the interior is the same except for the fake wood

Umaxen 00 Don't know if this is comparable but I have a 93' Camry V6 and anytime I put gas less than 93 in my car runs like shit
Eh, I bought it from a friend and he said he's always used 93 so I don't want to mess anything up by going lower
Buy 3 gallons of 87 and see what happens. Like I said, I have driven my ES330 with 87 for 12 years and it's fine...

TOYOTA #1 #1 CAR IN P,R,💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪👍👍👍👍👍👍
*Lexus
Hated the 05. The seats were very stiff and uncomfortable, the dash would shrink and the airbag compartment would start to pop out. The transmission would randomly upshift and downshift and had a dangerous 1 second delay upon acceleration. It's a beautiful well built vehicle no doubt, but those quirks alone for me were a deal breaker.
What in the absolute hell are you talking about? Lmao this entire comment is just false. I know youre trolling but cmon lol......
Dear Kyle,
PLEASE DO A REVIEW OF THAT COROLLA.... I CANT SEEM TO GET MY EYES OFF OF THAT...
Hope this helps.
I love how in this case, the speaker in the camera was hindering the true quality of the sound system
Sorry between LS430 2003 vs ES300 2003 which one is better to own?
Depends on what you like. The ls is basically the flagship. Big body with a v8. Es is basically the common mans luxury car which comes with a v6
Sophea Thun they both run forever
Does this make you cry cause of your accident with your graduation present
I am buying this car
