Quad SMU: 4 channel Source Measure Unit based on AD5522. Part 2: Implementation

  • This project uses the AD5522 to implement a 4 channel SMU.
    Arduino controlled, +/- 10V, 5 current ranges from 5uA to 50mA.
    Force current and vorce voltage.
    and - voltage and current clamps.
    16 bit DACs and ADC.
    Part 1 is Design: block diagrams and schematics.
    Part 2 is Implementation; Prototype and PC boards, and demo.

    Great project! Super explanation. I'm looking forward for your next videos. I would consider using CYD (cheap yellow display) . It's touch screen and ESP32 can be used for wifi communication between SMU a PC. Probably there is not enough pins on that board to use it for driving SMU itself.

      I hadn't heard of CYD. Always looking for good (cheap and easy) embedded GUI tools. Yeah, It needs a good SPI and some GPIO fro this project. Thanks.

    Excellent project, I followed your previous SMU project with interest, it had good voltage and current capabilities but single channel, this quad channel unit looks very promising but i fear the GUI amd control software might be beyond my programming payscale, are you planning to take this part of the project further?
