    last time i did UR bars i think around 4 or 5 pieces of them including strut, under carriage front and rear, rear anti roll bar, etc on the FD2 (non R), the car became too hard and very bumpy for daily drive. After that i pay a visit to KL Auto and they removed almost all the bars except for strut and rear anti roll bar and do an under carriage, A, B pillars foaming, the car handles very well with some natural roll and much much better comfort to live with daily. From there on, foaming will be my first choice without going into bars unless i want something more.
    The bars are good for handling (not denying) but can be a bit too hard for daily drive. No doubt if the car is planned to go on track, bars are the way to go (with foaming).

    Budgetwise, I suggest install rigid collar at first (thailand brand one is enough, no need the Spoon one).
    Rigid collar is strong regiment to improve handling dramatically in a proper way without affecting much comfort.
    Then if it's still not enough, add sport spring kit, like Eibach/H&R, and still use stock shock absorber to keep it comfortable for daily ride.
    Spring kit will affect your car ground clearance to be lowered 1,5 cm to 2,5 cm. If you still want oem ground clearance then change to the thicker tyre offset next time if your tyre need to change.
    Or, if you don't want any cons derived from the spring kit but still want to improve the handling then you go with UR at last.
    UR is not a strong regimen to improve the handling compared to the rigid collar and spring kit and it's very expensive. So it should be the last option to improve handling.

      You can make do with stiff ring , works the same like rigid collar

    • @ivanchiang1930
      @ivanchiang1930 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I had Stiff Ring installed on the next day after I took my X50. Doesn't really help much though until I installed 4 pcs of Eva Coil rubbers. I do not want to sacrifice comfort too much with stiffer setup like UR. Well, the results are while negotiating a fast bend at 130kmh when the road is uneven is clearly felt. The wallow is 80% gone!

    Good one, Bobby and Jeff for sharing his S70 UR set-up. You should have shown the viewers the Stage 1&2....struts at engine bay and undercarriage. Warranty not void? Not too sure about that as manufacturers generally don't like us having additional stuff or messing with theirs😅

    @20:15 that is what i always refer to as 'unrealistic expectation of perfection', it's still a mass produced product. it will NOT be perfect
    on the handling upgrade, it's the rear anti roll bar that makes the difference. i installed one for my previous Exora, same brand, it made a lot of difference. and going back further, i upgraded the front and rear anti roll bars on an Impreza WRX STI GDB and also it transformed than handling. first suspension upgrade an owner should do

    Bobby, on the side note. There's a viral video of X50 that are save from coalition supposedly from the ADAS system help him steer to the right to avoid hitting cat infront reversing at highway..
    Can the proton ADAS actually can do that? cause for me it seems far fertch.. yes it can brake automatically via AEB, but to auto steer? seems the technology too advance

    • @microvizart

      No it cannot. That very clearly is the driver own swerve. Painful actually seeing even Proton SA riding on that false claim. Such tech (auto swerve) doesn't even exist.

    • @germaineliew2012
      @germaineliew2012 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Torsion beam isn't exactly a bad thing if it's tuned right.
      Mazda got away with using torsion beam on the Mazda 3, so does some European C segmenters, with some decent results too.
      Pros and cons, but if there's options to sharpen up your handling even on a torsion beam, why not?

    • @napeenasir
