You ever succeed on a DC 20 roll with a nat 20 3 times? so that you don't lose your entire sense of self in a river that basically takes your sanity? I did, and made a song based on it.

Your DM better have just given you a special attribute or perk that basically it just “IRON WILL: this being’s mind cannot be turned against itself, charmed, or otherwise manipulated”
Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe I'm right in my deduction that this hero also appeared in the Elturel song. If so, then you once again show your proficiency at slowly building up the legends of your heros through song like a true bard.
They did! I recognized them too from that!
They're the one with two swords, and the one thay rescues them is also there, theyre the 4th one with the gold wings.
I NEED to hear the full story of these 3 nat 20s and the battle that threw Vera into that river
And I wish I saw the DM's reaction to THREE nat 20s when they expected a character death

@@Irathemad My DM rolled 3 nat 20s in a row in a the campaign I am in, unfortunately it was a manticore multi attack agents my character and i ended up getting one shot at full Hp. we reacted mostly by taking away that dice as well as trying to find the odds the 3 nat 20 in a row would be
You beat the River Styx? Now that’s impressive
It takes your sense of self, the description says, which i would think includes your memories, so technically it would be the river Lethe.

@@kungknas6108 yeah, the River Styx in DnD clearly have the effect of the River Lethe in the mythos, idk why they chose Styx except the fact that is a more iconic underground river

Reminds me of my tabaxi barbarian rickert, he died saving his friends from a disintegration spell. He fell apart in his adopted moms arms( party cleric) even in his last moments he made sure his new family was safe even if it meant he couldn’t see them anymore

Beating the river Styx is a moment that deserves to be immortalized in song
One of my party members fell into the river Lethe last session and is desperately trying to cling to their memories while swimming to shore and this song just fits that moment perfectly
What happened?
Oh I know what you mean I have a NPC loosely based off of Cami/Danerai in how epic of a Bard she is, and she's going through her own Hells and she's getting to the point where she and the party are going to also face the question of "Who are you"
@@pilentus wow did not even know I had replies to this comment. They lost the memory of their parents and siblings which was their whole quest was to find them. They later found their family but they had already been turned into vampires and they had unknowingly destroyed the cure for them.

This reminds me of the time my Wizard needed to make an intimidation Check and despite have expertise in intimidation had just brought himself to his 5th level of exhaustion so he had disadvantage on the role.
Got guidance from the Cleric.
Rolled 2 Nat 20’s and a 4 on the d4 for a whopping 41 on my intimidation to make the rest of the bad guys leave.
DC was 30.

You just gotta love those moments in DnD games when you just DO IT. You set out to do a thing, and you manage to somehow surprise everyone by succeeding in the most brilliant way possible. With all the DND songs you do, part of me wishes I could see the games that inspired so many awesome moments that you went and made songs about it.

I would kill for full lore videos on Danarei and Vera. I dm and play D&D and have never been more invested in the backstory and journey of a character as i am with Vera.
This seems like something that was supposed to be unavoidable, but you kept rolling nat 20's so the DM was forced to accept that you survived.
I like how these songs always tell a story, and the visuals help it along some more. How this is a continuation of a story that started being told when Eltruel had fallen, of the party that tried to avenge it, the desperation of how far over their head they truly are.
It's impressive, it's beautiful, I love it.

I was searching for songs for my OC Captain Vera Sparrow as I am going to cosplay her and came across this gem. In fact the song fits so well with the recent roleplay events that she has undergone even if it is different. Heres a bit from the roleplay:
A look of horror would spread across her face as she desperately tried to reach for the railing unable to grab it as she fell to the ocean below. Her fear only increased the longer she fell. How did it end up like this? Why did this have to be the outcome? She'd look around at the sky before closing her eyes. The once beautiful sky she had adored so, now dark and cold scared her. She had fallen from airships plenty of times but this time no one would be able to save her. Tears formed in her eyes as she thought of Silas, her crew, her family, and her friends. She'd reach into the sky and grasp at the air for what reason she didn't know. All that she knew was sorrow, pain, hatred, and fear. No warmth, love, or happiness was left. She was cold. For once she felt the cold crisp air shivering in response. Had it always been this cold up here? Did she waste all her years? Was this a life she could be proud of? As she slowly opened her eyes she'd cry out,
"I'm sorry."
She'd close her eyes once more. Her life flashing before her eyes. All she could do now was wait. Wait for the sweet release of death.
Here in a little over a week, my DM is starting up this module (with his own spin of course), and I've been listening to this far too much while i prepare my own character.
