I honestly love hunter’s character development, the angst, the emotions, all beautiful.
SPOILERS, SWEETIE: By far my favorite. Next to King of course I mean who doesn't love the occasionally 4th wall breaking Bill Cipher of it all who is OP as fvck in his beautiful Titanesque ways desired to be coveted, stolen, and ruined by all? Looks pretty familiar if you ask me.
This is a prime example of why TOH getting canceled is so heart breaking. Imagine all the creations that it could inspire, all the love song, healing song even war songs. All the comics and reimagined stories.....plus I really wanted that beach episode.
As long as we keep TOH’s flame alive, it’ll keep inspiring people. We need to show this cartoon, fan art, fan fiction, music and everything in between to as many people as possible and encourage them to show their friends, children, family, anyone.
We may not get more Owl House but we can make sure what there is gets the love it deserves ❤

This song really fits one of my character I once played. He was a paladin who was raised by a church worshipping a small deity. The acolytes raised him as a beacon for their faith and to draw in more people to their church. In order for him to survive they taught him magic, combat and about life. One day he was curious what they were doing when he was not around and found out that in actuality the religion was a lie. They were no deity they worshipped and they scammed people for their money and lively hood and he was to bring more people into ruin. His entire life was a lie.
Damn, I think I sent this to our party's Cleric who came from Earth in the 1770's and told him that this fit his character in an alternate timeline.
This is beautifully haunting and it captures just the angst and the hurt of this poor boy.

I am Catholic, and I grew up around a lot of other Catholics. I had a lot more about my upbringing in an earlier draft, but basically I went to a really conservative school and then a much more liberal school. I have learned so much more about my religion, its history, and its impact on people today.
Basically, this song is incredible. It's clearly filled with religious language and about religious trauma. The focus about seeing the world in a new way after making your own discoveries is amazing.
My personal favorite lines are "Would we still follow the teachings if we really knew the cost? If we knew who all was bleeding when the lines you made were crossed?" Just the double meaning of crossing a moral line and crossing oneself for prayer alone is incredible. But, as this song seems more aimed at those who are the leaders of a religion (in this case, Belos), it just rings true for me. The clergy have had moments in history of extreme corruption, and many leaders of the Church continue to cause extreme pain for people. They have covered up scandals in which children were hurt. Many of the people I was told to look up to when I was younger would consider me not truly Catholic if they knew I was queer. The Church does a lot of good, but we often do not properly address pain we've caused. There have been times in which lines have been crossed, and some people are really good at keeping quiet about that, allowing more suffering.
It's just a really good song, and I have a lot of feelings.
I guess my view on it is thus- every religion across the world, from the tribal beliefs in the spirits, to the Divine Destinies of the Shinto, all the way to the Abrahamic Faiths, have caused pain- you could fill oceans with the blood each and every one of them has spilled, no religion is truly innocent. We have to decide individually if we are going to wallow in it or rise above it. I am not a faithful person myself, but- as you have said, there are still good people in it, even if the past and present is tarnished.
Just seeing Hunter and Flapjack next to "Zealot" in the thumbnail is enough to make me cry

I like this song and th artwork. The story of Hunter is a painful one since he was created and gaslighted to be Belos' replaceable right hand man. Only through his bonds with Luz, Flapjack, Gus, Willow and the others he has been able to overcome Belos' manipulations and be his own person, even if his body and mind have scars that he will always carry.
Not to mention that when he finally turned against Belos, Mr evil emperor's response was simply to sigh and go "oh well, I can always make another one". That had to absolutely break him

Clicked on this fully expecting to be hurt. Beautiful and haunting song, poor boy needs therapy. And closure, closure would be good for him too.
I really love that last verse, where the rest of the song was completely somber and melancholic the final verse progresses louder and rougher. From deep sadness to rage.

This captures the pain of a religious man who has left the church out of disillusionment instead of contempt.
Belos is one of the best villains ever. He's absolutely despicable and his influence on all the chacters especially hunter is strong and terrifying
After hearing the original, this one matches the emotion perfectly and adds some of cami’s flair to it. Absolutely beautiful and it captures hunter perfectly.
Belos was such an eerie antagonist. A religiously motivated bigot with no empathy and no respect for the rights or dignity of others. On the flip side Hunter learned how to respect others and now has good friends backing him up. That’s something Belos can’t comprehend and that’s why he keeps failing. Because he’s so cruel and repulsive he’s alone. I think that’s what makes the Owl House such a great show is the character driven storytelling. Definitely check it out if you haven’t already! Also this song is great! I really feel it helps one understand what Hunter was going through.
For some reason, this gives me the same vibe as a Warframe song. Slow, melodic, beautiful, and haunting all in one.

Cami keeps delivering! This kinda gave me flashbacks to when I watched the season 2 finale and then laid in my bed all mopey and depressed cause I found out the show had been stumped, but also Celldwellers 'Against the Tide' came on and basically my head made a little AMV for me.

This is amazing! I love both Hunter's tragedy as a character and the Frollo-like religious zealotry that Belos portrays, and both were conveyed wonderfully in this song!
