You demonstrated real integrity by returning the trunk to the lady - where her ancestor had once used that travel-trunk. Your empathy and kindness was outstanding
Well this was a different one. It was lovely that the pieces went back to the original owners. As far as the console table , while it isn't to my taste as is , it was a great original idea. I would have preferred it painted and with a Victorian mirror .
I think the console door came out beautifully. Personally, I would have put on more paint, then distressed it to make it look a little more even, then coated it with a clear fish, but that's just me.
I like the console table concept - I just wish it wasn't left with the flaking paint - it makes it looks run down. But maybe shabby chic is still in style over there??
How many of us think that Patti's grandmother had a hand in bringing Sarah together with Patti's husband! Was that out of love for dear Patti, or could Grandmother just not bear seeing her fab trunk destroyed...Oh, the memories that trunk must hold. I believe that Grandmother just had so many reasons for stopping it's destruction! 😇☺️🥰
"Not to everyone's taste.." Since when do you ever do anything conventional Rupert?---Did I detect Sarah getting choked up when she had those flowers?---I'd tell one of Jay's pieces anywhere!!!
The trunk was made just after Jul 14 1885. it says PAT and look- there’s the date. American furniture makers often marked their pieces that way, using date codes more often about 40 yrs later. Check out 19:23-25
As usual, Jay worked his skills, his designer's magic on the chairs. The console table made from the door is a joke. Beyond horrible. I think the former owner of the trunk should have paid Sarah for the work she did - another day or two and it might have been sold!
@@tinawhelly396You obviously haven't seen much of his work, nor his company's Facebook page? If you have ever tried to restore a piece of Ercol furniture, you would understand the amount of work involved!
@@tinawhelly396well we really don’t know what else he does besides these chairs. Or I don’t. The trunk was beautiful but I didn’t care for the door or the chairs.
I like the idea of this show i just think they should stick with a sellable design if they’re doing a show trying to flip something unless it’s REALLY AMAZING, which neither the door nor the chairs were. I love the trunk though and I’m very glad it went back home.
Why in the world would you go back and give money to wasteful people who carelessly throw things out? I have no patience for people who do this. They deserve a lecture, not money. I'm pretty sure that even in the UK, there is a way to offer up items for free to someone who could use them or there are probably charity thrift stores to donate them to. I'm so sick of this materialistic, throw-away culture. As for the trunk, they didn't like it until they found out it was worth money. Too bad. They should have had to live with their careless, rash decision to THROW IT OUT! Again, why throw it out? Give it away but why in the world should this have been trashed? And how does someone even live in this world and remain oblivious to the fact that something like this trunk has value? This makes no sense to me at all.
Nah... There needs to be a clause that whomever agrees to donate their junk to Sarah will NOT get it back! Hello, folks - you were ready to chuck it into the skip, remember??
Thanks for the informative video, your information is incredible, however, knowing that everything related to investing. If you know Coach Evelyn, honestly you must be a successful trader by now. However, I have to admit that her technique for Bitcoin day trading is completely different.....

I loved the chest!
I liked the console table!
Love the revived Ercol stickback chairs!
I grew up with these chairs. I still have the sideboard, which is a masterpiece, and so loved.
Uk people are so creative very nice innovation is the key for more advancement and finally power😉
The chairs are so so beautiful and adding the color is a bonus.

Amazing. The pieces returned to their previous owners.
All so inspiring, I absolutely love this show.
Best joke yet....no bell prize...love it.
So generous giving back.
Love this show

That's all well and good...but let's be real. Patti checked online and realized it's value, and wants to sell it herself! 💵

Jay blade does a little painting and he’s called a furniture restorer and designer ? Lol

Don't u worry, dove, this is a series, remember...They're all paid by television and on top of that get free publicity ;-))
I’m leaning toward hating the console table.
Even with a lot of bla bla it never sold!
Weirdest thing I’ve ever seen
Me tooo
Me too. I love the concept…but it just looks ugly. Would paint it all white to try to save it. Mirror is way too small. Sorry.

I would have painted the console table.
The console table? Are you kidding me? And it didn’t sell ? Did you really think it would?
Jay blade was he a DEI hire? How in the world do they call him a designer? The Uk cracks me up
The guy who wanted that awful console table back in his house, must be crazy - although it wouldn't have sold, so he did everyone a favour
You could see the horrid console table in Martin's shop, the one who bought Jay's two Ercole chairs !
in italy it is not possible😅
A do…that’s half a door…hahahahahahahaha😂
Well, that odd-looking thing went back to the family. That's a first! It wasn't a surprise that it didn't sell.
I am guessing the family painted the door once they got it back ...
That door is awful it's not designer or fantastic it's rubbish and belongs in a skip.
Brandon YOU are not trippin, but THEY are definitely trippin.
How does Sarah make a living giving back the money?
I wonder if she really changed her mind, or they knew they could not find a buyer for the trunk.

That 'consul table' is bloody awful. It looked better as a door. £200!
Joke!
Jay seems to under value his work.
No on the contrary, he’s thinks he a lot more skillful then he actually is.
@@tinawhelly396 I totally agree with you. His work is boring and predictable, usually black legs with one leg in a different color... Yawn!
