I just love finding new ways to upcycle and flip thrifted finds, this is a stellar way to repurpose old dinnerware!! I'm always on the lookout for cute vases and pots to hide my nursery pots, but now I'll certainly be looking in the dish isle 🙌🩷 you did a fabulous job

@@patriciacrozier7624 I almost didn’t do it, but I really wanted to see plants in it😅

Aloha! While I'm too much of a 'purist' (not putting holes in glassware), I thoroughly enjoyed watching the process. Thanks much for sharing, and I look forward to seeing what you create from these seemingly "random" items! 😊

Thank you! I totally get not wanting to put holes in some of them. when I picked these out I tried not getting ones that looked like they were in a set or like it would be complete sacrilege to change lol.

I've been doing no hole planting in clear glass, I put a couple inches of clay pellets on the bottom then use soil, I love the way they are looking.

I have been wanting to try leca for awhile, but mostly for a more airy soil and for propagating. I have put rocks and bark in the bottom of planters that don’t have drainage holes, but I know you have to be careful with that.

What do you put under those assortment of dishes to catch the water? How come so many decorative ceramic planters have no drain holes?

I just use a saucer or a shallow storage container to catch the water, but they don’t live in there, since about half of my plants don’t like being wet all the time. I think the reason some cute planters don’t have holes is they’re just for looking cute and not functional, but you can hide the actual pot inside. So, just do what works for you.

Thanks for a great video. What type of bits did you use?

@@jodoumbia4851 I understand where you’re coming from, but when I work with my hands I usually need to feel what I’m doing and if I wear gloves can’t do that. I’m always careful and when it’s absolutely necessary I’ll wear them but it’s not my favorite lol.
