- Every time I go to Memphis I try to visit a new place. On June 10, 2023, I was traveling through Memphis on my way home from a convention and decided to stop by Ginger Alden’s Memphis home she was living at with her family when she met Elvis in 1976. This video includes a few short stories from some of the pictures I discovered that centered around Elvis and Ginger’s time at the Alden family home. I consider Ginger a friend and a very nice person. I hope she and the Alden family enjoy this video highlighting a few of their precious memories.

I use to get letters from Ginger and her return address was from this house. We would write back and forth to each other.
@@sallyjb6209 I was an Elvis impersonator as they called us back then even when Elvis was living. Back then there were only a few impersonators now called tribute artists. We talked about Elvis and she had done a movie in a town I lived in for a short time and would go on set to watch the filming. I still have the movie poster from that movie. I also received a Christmas card from her which I thought was very nice of her to do that.

I used to pass that house every day taking my daughter to Crump Elementary and never had an idea that's where Ginger lived.
Elvis was just so GIVING. With a humble heart. More should have learned from him. Elvis blessed so many people. RIP Elvis God bless his soul.

Thank you very much, for making this video. Ginger is a very lovely lady..Glad to see she is finally able to show people, that she is not what they say about her. People can be so cruel. So glad that Elvis finally found someone, that he felt he could be part of the family..They are good people, and Elvis recognised this, or he wouldn't have visited them in their own home. He proposed to Ginger, because he wanted to, not because he had to. My only wish is that they could have been married..Then a lot of his so called friends, wouldn't have been around...That's my opinion, anyway.
I doubt at 20 she would’ve been able to stand up to a 42 year old man, husband or not. I think she is and was lovely but she was 20 and only knew him 9 months. Glad they were happy though

I recall Elvis paid for a pool to be installed at the house. It was actually installed ~2 days after his funeral. I read in Giner's book.
The pool has been filled in and does not exist anymore.

Priscilla B. forebade Lisa Marie to talk to anyone except Vernon, Minnie Mae, Delta and maybe some other family members like Priscilla's Graceland-spy Patsy Presley. Ginger wrote that she saw Lisa Marie only one time after the funeral. Lisa Marie was driving a golf-cart and called from a distance she was not allowed to speak to anyone. I don't remember if Amber was with Ginger on that occasion. Anyhow Ginger and Amber never properly could say goodby to Lisa Marie thanks to cold-hearted Priscilla B.

A big house, especially for 1976/77… almost 1700 sq ft. I am happy for Elvis that he found Ginger especially since he was at the end of his life (I know ). She was good for him and good for Elvis to experience ‘real’…

Billy Smith said in an interview that Elvis was instantly smitten with Ginger. He would run around like a young high school boy trying to impress her. Billy couldn't understand why someone like Elvis felt a need to impress her or anyone. Elvis told Vernon there was something about Ginger that reminded him of Gladys. It has been stated, by Billy, that Elvis was supposed to take another girl on tour with him. It was said in passing to make Ginger jealous because she had told him she would meet him later on tour. She didn't want to leave that day because she missed her family. I think that part has been embellished to lessen her importance in his life. Vernon had admitted that Elvis told him she was the one he had been searching for. Whether most of you agree with it or not Vernon was his father and knew Elvis better than all of us.
I don't believe Elvis truly loved Ginger. He just wanted a warm body that happend to be Ginger b/c he had another lady in the wings to go on tour b/c Ginger didn't want to go

It's been said by the Memphis Mafia that Elvis didn't have any real intention of marrying Ginger. In terms of all that he gave her and her parents, well Elvis did that that with all his women. He was just a very generous soul and loving soul. Even the engagement ring was an appeasement to just keep Ginger around, again also said by the MM. I don't know, will we ever know? One thing though is absolutely certain in my mind Ginger Alden was a lovely young woman. She was polite, courteous, and always had ready smile on her face with no pretensions. A humble girl from a good solid family. I liked her a lot. I can't say the same about Priscilla, who has essentially written her story to eradicate every other woman Elvis was in love with. Cilla would have us all believe she was the great love of his life that he never got over. Oh please. Thank you for this video.
The MM were totally jealous that Elvis spent a lot of time alone with GInger, upstairs. The "old gang" type of arrangement was going to come to an end, and that's why they resented Ginger. They can speculate and dismiss GInger all they want, but I will always believe they were going to start a new life together. I believe it's totally rude of them to speculate that he wouldn't have married her, when the bottom line is, Elvis proposed to GInger and gave her an engagement ring. The MM cling-ons loved Linda because she was like one of the boys and didn't pose a threat to their way of life.
@@rosemarykingpate7832 Yes, I think I'm inclined to agree with what you have said, it makes perfect sense actually. As far as Linda Thompson is concerned the MM maintained that she looked after Elvis better than anyone. Thats a least one truthful thing they have said. Linda herself has stated in interviews that Elvis would fall asleep with a mouth full of food that she had to remove from his mouth so he wouldn't choke to death. There were a lot of other things Linda came to Elvis's rescue for. I believe Linda, and I believe she was good for Elvis. Perhaps Ginger wasn't with Elvis long enough to have seen any of the real problems Elvis was facing due to prescription drug abuse. In any case both these women were great girls. I'm sure had Elvis married either one of them he would have been a lot happier than he ever was with Priscilla. I actually think Cilla was the worst thing that ever happened to Elvis.

Even with my ex, I have never regretted him or said he was the worst thing that happened. He was a lesson as was Priscilla. As for ginger, she does seem lovely but she was 20 and it was a new relationship of only 9 months so anyone’s guess there on the outcome we would never know.
@@CarynHillMcGraw Aside from the precious children that are born as a result of a union between and man and woman, it doesn't alter the fact that some unions are absolutely toxic. They can leave one partner or even sometimes both emotionally and spiritually utterly broken. Some people don't recover from a cold calculated, manipulative, and even narcissistic spouse. Then too there are the physical abusers, not just the emotional and psychological ones.
Lisa Marie was indeed a blessing to Elvis even for the short while he had her. She was 9 when he died. However, Priscilla was not a blessing for a wife, and for many many reasons which I won't go into here. For anyone that wants the facts on Priscilla, not the fiction, there have been enough good books written about Priscilla Beaulieu and the sham of a marriage she and Elvis had. Elvis was no saint; we all know that, but compared to this woman he married Elvis comes away from that short-lived relationship smelling like a Rose. Of course, you are going to love the child or children produced in any union, though that goes without saying. However, it doesn't alter the reality that people finally become aware off, ... and that is that your choices in life a very important, and there is none more important than who we chose to supposedly spend the rest of our lives with. Elvis by 1967 didn't want to even marry Priscilla, but as he stated on the eve of his wedding, he "didn't have a choice", he had to go through with it. She brought him in the end nothing pain and misery and shame. Not to mention almost bankruptcy.
I'm sorry, but we have to leave the children out of it . They didn't ask to be born and when we get them no matter who they are, or who we have had them with, we love them. All children are a blessing no matter who the other parent is. Priscilla was a megalithic error for Elvis, and I believe he paid the ultimate price for his mistake.

They keep painting brick on these new homes - ITS HORRIBLE!!!! During the Pandemic a subdivision couldn't get bricks During the supply chain problems. I seen them use all the left over bricks on one house!!! White, red, Grey- all of them! I was like what in the he'll are they doing?!?! Then they painted the whole think white w/black trim in a farm house style. Wait until those builders decide to take that paint off in the future.... they are going to DIE.

It's because Priscilla is trying to rewrite history, making out that she was Elvis' one and only, and completely being disrespectful by attempting to erase Ginger from the story. Many people, especially the new generation, have no idea that Elvis had moved on from his ex-wife and was actually happy and content in the end with his new fiance, in contrast to the story his ex is trying to spin, that he was a miserable, pining ex-husband. True fans are just trying to set the record straight, that's all.

Yes. She married and had a son.
She married and her husband sadly died a few years ago.
A little known fact is that her Husband Died on August 16th ( in 2019 i think - But im not sure of the year )

Ginger's father left the family when Ginger was dating Elvis. The family Alden lived in the house with their three daughters. Their son was married and lived elsewhere. Ginger refused to move to Graceland as long as they were not married. Mrs. Alden and her daughters wanted to stay in the house but couldn't buy out Mr. Alden. Elvis Presley offered to pay the $40.000,- to mr. Alden but died before that had been effected. Then Vernon Presley refused to pay the $40.000,- and mrs. Alden sued him for the money that she badly needed. Mrs. Alden lost the lawsuits.
