SPOILERS: At around the 35 minute mark the homies said that Brolin's and Del Toro's character's were corrupt. No, they aren't corrupt, Brolin's character is a CIA Special Operations Group leader and he can't legally operate on American soil without being attached to a task force headed by a non CIA asset (they used Blunt's character to circumvent that law by attaching her and keeping her in the dark about what is going on). The USA gov is morally reprehensible to some degree in this fictional movie because it's doing everything it can to put a specific entity back at the top of the drug chain by eliminating specific individuals (with the help of Del Toro's character - a now CIA trained assassin). They are doing so, not to stop drug flow into the U.S. (they view that as a losing battle), but to reduce the violence that has erupted with the cartels competing against one another in the drug trade. In essence, the U.S. wants one cartel - not a dozen - and they are using the CIA to achieve that goal.
still corrupt. they can rid everyone if they want but why do that if US not gain any profits.
go looks what CIA did in the whole world. you will shocked how they hides many thing so US goverment can profits from other people war. example
wo create islamic states? go do research about the founder of islamic states and you will know why they let him free after get caught for few years. and then look who create mujahideen later on turned into Al Qaeda, and why islamic states today moving to Afghanistan to bombed that country today.
as a Muslim, we deemed Al Qaeda and islamic states as wrongdoer and will be send straight to hell.

1) Silvio, the Mexican police officer was a real police officer who was also working for the Cartel.
2) The actor playing Silvio is the same actor who played Agent Sitwell in the Marvel movies until he was killed by the Winter Soldier.
so he only plays corrupt shit?
You guys didn't understand why Kate freaked out on the guy who tried to choke her. You missed what she saw on the table. The sicario killed the kids to make him feel the pain he felt when they killed his wife and daughter.
They missed a ton of stuff in this movie, unfortunately.

The question "You have a husband?" Is because if they hire you for a work like this, they want people 100% concentrated in their work, no distractions, no children, no family, etc... I'm surprised other reactors don't understand that, it's really obvious.
they asked about a husband and kids because the CIA doesn't want the cartel to use the husband/kids against her or to target them if they found out about her
The border crossing scene and the build up of tension culminating in the shootout is just flawless filmmaking. The sequel is really good too. Highly recommend a follow up reaction
Although is not the way authorities perform this in reality. They cross this criminals by air is safer.
For those special forces operators escorting the convoy, it was just another day at the office.

@@spartanical Juarez and El Paso both cities have airports I think they overdue this scene. In real life I doubt authorities have planned this way. Specially with American agents armed in Mexico territory. Good scene just unrealistic.
Sicario is a masterpiece 10/10 and part 2 Day of the Soldado is good too I’d give that one a 7/10
The second on is very good. The problem is, the first one is a masterpiece, and that fact makes the second one feel like it is sub standard.
@@deanhibler3117 true and 2 had a whole different director so it was different in its unique way, I like both of them and Josh Brolin & Benicio Del Toro are my some of my favorite actors along with Jeffrey Donovan.
What about the Netflix shows like Narcos Mexico and Ozark all have to do with Mexico cartels ! 🤔🇺🇸🇮🇹🇲🇽

Villeneuve’s best movie and IMO the 2nd best best movie of 2015 after Fury Road. A masterpiece that did not get the recognition it deserved. Every performance is spot on. I think it will age like Heat and eventually get its recognition.

This is one of my favorite movies ever. Just to let you know, they needed to have Kate there because she's FBI, and her being attached to their unit allowed them to operate legally.
For a certain value of "legal"
FYI during the border crossing, everyone rolls their windows down for two reasons:
1.) Better vision (no glare off the window, etc)
2.) Lessening the effects of what happens when you fire a gun inside an enclosed space, like a vehicle (overpressure)
Timestamp 43:57. If you're wondering why he's holding a gun to Kate's head to make her sign that paper. Earlier she threatened to "tell everyone what they did" She was a loose end and was a threat to their operation. The fact she signed that paper saying it was done by the book basically guarantees she can't say otherwise in the court of law. She has her signature on an offical document stating it was done by the book. And she can't prove that it was done under stress because it's her word against his, no other witnesses.
To explain this, the CIA is prohibited by law from operating on US soil unless they are legally requested to do so by a domestic law enforcement agency. The CIA knew who they wanted to target, and those men were in Mexico. Kate was brought on purely as legal cover -- they didn't want anyone incisive enough to ask the smart questions ("No lawyers on this train") so they selected someone who who was process-oriented but who didn't understand the big picture ("She's a door-kicker," someone whose job is focused on the use of brute force).

I like how the assumption is that the FBI is open fire raiding a house unjustified. I mean yes that can happen and I am sure it rarely does happen but its a weird default position to got to. If FBI is shooting their way through a house there is probably a good reason. And I am no big fan of the FBI.
Both Sicario movies are Very well done. I've lived in Chihuahua City and El Paso/Juarez in these times. Sicario 3 should be out soon!

You should definitely watch Traffic, which is another movie with a similar subject matter, and also with Benecio it turns out.

This movie has 3 actors from marvel universe. Daniel kaluya(pretty sure I spelled that wrong), benicio del toro, and josh brolin who played thanos.
Great storyline and plot, but the great thing about this movie is the music and the photography of landscapes and the 🌌 SKY

He killed the cop because he was a cop in the smuggling business,making him just as guilty as the rest of them for his family's horrible deaths.
Nothing mattered but revenge. All were expendable.
NO NO NO .. the cop was not the least problem .. he was the worst .. A cop should be their to stop crime, not do it or help it.
One awesome fact about Sicario that makes it a very unique film is that on your first watch you probably think Kate is the protagonist while Matt & Alejandro are the antagonists, but its the other way around. She tries to hinder all the impact they're trying to achieve: the impact the "system" has failed to produce. She is stuck in her ways and almost compromises the mission multiple times. This fact is so much more apparent after a rewatch, and especially after watching the 2nd Sicario and you see how Matt's team works more independently.

Chandler, AZ is not like that. There is a fashion mall and lots of city blocks with rich people about. But there are bodies hidden there. It is Arizona after all. The bags with bodies can be real. It's just not public there.

the windows are rolled down in the traffic shootout to prevent the occupants from going deaf. the decibels & change in air pressure when a gun is discharged in a confined space is…unpleasant…noticeably, the windows being rolled down are the ones closest to the shooters’ ears
This type of thing will never stop until Mexican leadership actually stops either being scared of the cartels or stops being corrupt. Sadley it would take an extremely brave, motivated, strong and once in a lifetime type of person to achieve what so many have not been able to do.... We will continue to live in the world of wolves in many of the major Mexico/US border cities. Great reaction.

Y’all need to watch the writers other 2 movies that he considers part of a thematic American frontier trilogy. The other 2 are hell or high water and wind river, both of them are absolutely stellar but sadly get almost no love from reactors. Best stretch of 3 movies from someone in the 2010s decade imo. They’re so so good
I live a few hours North of Chandler, Arizona where the house siege in the movie took place. In the scheme of things, it doesn't feel all that far away. Arizona is awesome though.

The ending works on multiple levels because it also shows that Benicio’s character really has nothing to live for. If she’d shot him he’d have died and I don’t think he would have cared. His entire family is gone.
