I’m happy to see other Louis fans! I’ve seen a lot of people say they found his character very unlikeable this season and had enough of him. I too hope to see Louis in season 3 as much as you do Jess. It wouldn’t be the same without him.
Do you think there are new ways to use him? Louis is a flawed character, but aren't we all? Jess and I both love watching him and it helps that Jacob is phenomenal! -Matt
episode 8 is my last...i only watch because of Louis...so, I am glad he really kicks ass for this final show...Louis is my favorite because he is the only black gay vampire ...we lose our only character that represents us...but, good luck to the series...I did love these two seasons...gonna be watching these two seasons for years...
Matt, Jess, I am team Claudia. I am in agreement. I am very angry about how Delainey Hayles (Claudia) came to an end. I’m not buying it that Armand was unable to help the three of them. Louis, Claudia, the dress maker. After all he was the covet leader.
I tend to think that Armand could have done more, but will there be a chance for Louis to come to understand that over time? I'm sad to lose Claudia and yet, I still want to believe her loss is not in vain. -Matt
I love how Sam Reid has an idea for how Hayles(Claudia) can continue to appear on the show for future seasons if they get renewed: "Dream-dia" a hallucination Lestat sees in the same vein of Louis seeing "Dream-stat" this season. "I really hope, should we continue, that she haunts him, because I just love Delainey so much,"Reid says.
I co-sign that idea! Plus, Delainey and Sam didn't get enough scenes together. How much would we get her? Even if it is only small doses, I'd be happy. -Matt
Yes, they wanted more scenes together. Claudia even after her death is so important to Lestat, his life. Lestat brings up claudia a lot, he remembers her so much, everytime he mentions her, its like someone is stabbing me in the chest. he still thinks about her & carries the grief with him centuries later. i am not well 💔 @MattandJessTV
In the books, vampires do live that we believe to be king dead, including Lestat’s maker, Magnus. He comes back as a spirit and Claudia not only has Magnus’s blood, but also the queen herself, Akashas blood also runs in her veins
I think Jess brought up some good points. Why wouldn’t Armand take credit for saving Louis? Armand can’t be trusted, I would question everything. Also, where’s Lestat? Maybe, Armand did something to him. Consider that maybe Lestat was not as willing a participant as we believe.
Or, could Lestat just be led astray or tricked? I love all the different possibilities here! I just don't know how so much can be wrapped up in one episode. -Matt
Armand will rescue out of the crypt in the wall just like he does in the book. I don’t think we done getting all the details from the trail yet. They will probably end up in New Orleans like in the book too.
Armand will absolutely get Louis out. I want to know what happens with Lestat. In his last scene before they open the skylight he was looking like he was in a trance or like he was weak after his "performance"
Thank you guys for the great discussions. You try to be fair and open-minded about all of our beloved monsters. 💜 I think Armand will be the one who saves Louis, but the details will be sketchy and sus. Because Armand can’t be trusted!!! He’ll incapacitate Lestat from being able to help Louis or rewrite the events in Louis’s mind. Anything that will make Armand more heroic. Like he accused Lestat of doing during the trial/play/stoning/farce.
Justice for my girl Claudia!! Armand aint sh!!t I don't trust him, though I believe he will rescue Louis. *whew* Lestat look so dayum good this epidode! That voice and and that jawline! 💦
Louis would have been dead ten times over if it wasn't for Armand. If Armand wasn't the leader of the coven to begin with Claudia and Louis would have been forced to joined the coven from the get go. There's no way any other coven leader would have allowed Louis to walk around by himself
But does Louis really feel like he owes him at this point? The history between the two is so complicated at this point, and that is why (at least were it not for the source material), their relationship is far from a straight line. -Matt
@@MattandJessTV What have Louis ever done for Armand? Armand is the one always doing something for Louis. The coven is not only in Paris. And the coven is far more powerful than can imagine. After all the coven defeated Armand's master Marius who's two thousand years old
I don’t think Armand and Louis have really been a couple this whole season it’s all been for show for the interviewer Daniel. Any love they had for eachother is has been gone for awhile. Daniel was brought there at the time for Louis to say his peace so he can move on. I think they are going turn Daniel at the end of the season.
And aren't these perspectives valuable? I'm honestly not sure there is another show out there that goes as deep in its people in as limited an amount of time. -Matt
I am leaning toward Armand saving Louis. I can't wait to see Louis get his revenge. What will the cliffhanger be? Possibly Lestat crashing the interview? You two have so many great theories. *Side note: How do we know Armand wasn't controlling Lestat's thoughts during the trial? At that point, I assume Armand is the most powerful vampire in the room. I enjoy your videos - keep them coming. ❤
Thank you for watching! If that is the case with Armand, how would we figure it out? I really hope we do, just because it would drive me nuts otherwise lol. -Matt
I think you are spot on with the interview getting crashed, but I don't think it will be Lestat. (Spoiler theory below) . . . . . I think Akasha will crash the interview to kidnap Louis as a gift for Lestat. Daniel will be mortally wounded by her, and Armand will give the dark gift for the very first time to save him.
Well in the movie Santiago had Louis placed in coffin and sealed up in the walls of the theater. Armand broke Louis out of the wall sadly after Madeline and Claudia were burnt up by the sunlight in the dungeon. Louis seen this with Armand and went apeshit. That is when Louis went on his revenge tour.......
I've only seen the movie and I think something similar will happen in this like it did the movie but I won't give any specifics about the movie since y'all haven't seen the movie, also I really really hope AMC announces Season 3 soon 🙏
Jess has seen the movie, but I haven't! Appreciate the discretion, though :). I really just want that renewal since there's clearly potential for so much more good stuff. -Matt
I miss the days Louis and Lestat were together. They were both toxic. This season shows Louis wasn't really a victim mostly with Lestat's side coming to view.
Louis was still a victim, even the writers have said this. Lestat confessed at the trial that he dropped him out of the sky so he would be broken and he knew it would hurt him, so he couldn’t physically leave with Claudia. Sam also confirmed in interviews that this was an unforgivable act. That is the definition of abuse. The new revelations only shows that there was more to it, that Louis fought back more than he let on. We also have to consider that there will be another perspective from the real Letsat himself. This is only a retelling from Armand and Louis’ pov of the trial. I still agree, I miss Loustat. The dynamic made the show. Yes, they’re very toxic together but it’s kind of the point. They’re horrible for each other but they love each other so deeply, even when the aspects of their relationship can become very heinous.
So many possibilities. My bet is on Lestat saving Louis but who knows? What I do know is that I am disappointed that we do not know if this has been renewed for a third season. I would enjoy next season being Lestat centered since I am not a Louis fan. I did love Claudia though. Besides her personality, the character’s presentation and styling was a real work of art!
I am a Louis fan, but I really would love to know more about this Lestat as well! Do you think they'll put us out of our misery before the finale? -Matt
With one word, Armand was able to put the vampires to sleep in that restaurant. So i think he can put them to wleep again, get Louis out, and let Louis' temper destroy the cove. The coven that Armand is sick and tired of. Then Armand can take Louis and the 2 of them can be in love forever. Now Lestat, he seems a bit out of it, so Armand might have a bit of mind control on him. But who knows, Louis might tell Lestat he really doesn't want anything to do with him. And Lestat accepts it. ????? Hence why Louis and Armand are still together in the present, and why Louis didn't want to talk to him in San Francisco.
I think there has to be some kind of conversation where Louis tells Lestat it's done. We know Lestat is alive and he's not one to just flee so it feels like it had to be a discussion and a choice :) - Jess
"I like Lestat, but I LOVE Louis." I feel EXACTLY the same way. I feel some trepidation about Season 3 if they decide to marginalize Louis, as Anne Rice did in the books.
Louis is just such a special character and Jacob Anderson breathes so much life into him. I just love him. I won't lie, I'm nervous about a whole season of Lestat and I do hope they find a way to incorporate Louis some how. - Jess
Everyone's blood turns darker/brown once it's out of the body from oxidation. There's no clue with the color of the blood. I feel that there's only 2 choices of people who would help him get out with their blood: Lestat or Armand. - Jess
yea, i probably won't be watching anymore if Louis is gone...but I will always have seasons 1 and 2...best of luck immortal fans ...enjoy the series cause the chronicles really get ridiculous to me (from all the TH-cam reviews of the books that i have seen online...the vampires are really aliens from outer of space and they were sent to kill all the earth beings, and etc...just stupid...just like the Mayfair witches which i have listen to all three complete audio novels, just ridiculous and nasty...the incest...ewww, that's why i just could not watch that show after the first couple of episodes, it was just stupid...i don't think the writers could make it make sense...and i only finished all three because they were on sale as a bundle and i like listening to audio novels while i workout at the gym)...i think the novels are a success because of the first 2 maybe 3 novels because the chronicles and Anne Rice had built a fan base and the fans wanted to continue to love Lestat just because it was Lestat or an Anne Rice novel... but let's be honest, did you guys really like the novels after "Queen of the Damned" or even "The Vampire Lestat"...many say they didn't?...
I can't speak to anything in the books, but I am curious to see where the story goes from here. Honestly, I'm just okay staying focused on the core group of people here -- why can't we just have more stories on just them? haha -Matt
I stopped after the tale of the body thief, and read only Armand's story, after that it just got weirder and weirder and never finished the rest of the series.
I agree about all the incest and crazy Taltos stories in the 2nd two Mayfair Witches books, and some of the Vampire Chronicles. I would like to see them do Marius story/ Blood and Gold and Pandora's, though. The first Mayfair Witches book was like a history of the family, then it gets crazier in the other two books. I think it would be interesting if either Lestat or some of the Vampires show up at the end of the next episode wishing to tell their stories and get it all out with Daniel. Then induct Daniel into the Talamasca, or even make him a vampire or both since he now knows their whole story.
