Jacob is like the kid who didn't study the whole year, stayed up all night before the exam and then scored an A+ and Sam is like the kid who studied the whole year because he's loved the subject since he was a kid, chalked out every little detail and trick question in every possible way and then obviously went on to score an A+ 😂😂
I'm just really loving the amount of intellectual conversation you can have about this show. Like I've not seen an episode with friends where after, we just went, hmm-ok, that was funny or that was sad, shrug, on to the next thing. It's always been long debates, some hilariously heated, about the nature of the characters and their version of morality, wrong/right, truth/lies, and what constitutes as sustainable love for an immortal. It's so great to also hear the actors tell it from their perspective with really good questions given to them in this interview.
I love Jacob's answer to the last question, about IWTV being an origin story for The Vampire Louis. If you had faced the racism Louis has faced, you would hate humans too. He has decades of rage to process, and what better way to do that than by being a bloodthirsty vampire! "I think he's the most jonesing for blood" "he's reticent about who is until he isn't" that just makes so much sense and I can't wait to see how that plays out
The best thing about the BOOK 📖 is reading 📚 it and in the Novel Louis and Claudia are actually White. So there u go, and Louis wasn't a Brothal owner he was a Plantation owner and I dislike how they change back stories it defeats the purpose of what Louis stood for.
@@kaylaclarkyall sometimes you change things for an adoptation to shine a light to a new and more complex perspective. they made the right choice for the show.
100% agree with Jacob that Louis is the most vampiric of the vampires. I've always felt his is actually the strongest as you read the books and hear about Louis from other's perspective. They seem scared of him, and no without reason.
I love how Sam is almost constantly wanting to look at Jacob in this exact position 1:39 (with his hand cradling his face) but he kind of remembers he's being filmed, and stops doing it 😂 It's funny, because he does it several times, as if he usually does it.
In the books, Louis is a legend in the vampire world. He is the first to come out in a book and tell the world. Up until then, vampires hid in the shadows terrified of being discovered by humans. Louis is revered and feared by other vampires. There is a quiet, powerful strength about him. There is a scene in the later books where all the elder vampires come together and they are all sitting and staring at Louis. They are in awe of his bravery and defiance but they are also aware that he has Lestat’s ❤️ in his hip pocket. Nobody wants to be on his bad side for sure.
Loved Mara's intelligent questioning during last season's promos, and it was equally as entertaining and satisfying hearing Sam and Jacob responding together this time around! When this cast isn't up against the clock in terms of needing to conclude things quickly, and they're allowed to give full and insightful answers to thought-provoking questions, they are a JOY to listen to - and I only wish we'd had longer with Mara, Sam & Jacob here, but I'm greedy when it comes to Jam Reiderson, lol! Thanks Mara!
100% agree with Jacob’s view of Louis his rigidity of self-accountability is what sets him apart from most other vampires. He has lived a human life of being who he needed to be for his family and even now he’s living in a way that would honor that. It lives on in the way he takes care of Claudia before himself. Still not quite living for himself but maybe one day
Idk why I was surprised by JA's answer to the last question, watching the first season and seeing how people treat him and how he responds and holds up this facade of care and leniency... yeah totally I get it
Such an insightful interview, very interesting questions! I especially liked hearing about Louis and Lestat’s biggest fears/weaknesses and strengths. Thank you!
Yaaaaaay! I haven’t even watched the interview, but Mara’s discussion with Sam last year was insightful and flowed well. ♥️ Watched: that was awesome. They both got wonderfully candid about some things. Especially Jacob, holy crap. 🤩
Mara is great. She has the most deep intelligent and beautiful questions that are interactive and never sound scripted. I lover her interviews with Jacob and Sam especially cause he's a total fanboy and he loves the details which she goes into
this is the most insightful character interview we've seen this press run. mara your questions were so thoughtful and triggered such thoughtful answers. i hope you can interview delainey and assad because it would be enriching to hear them talk about their characters in this much detail
This interview is stellar because of the interviewer. Her insight about and deep analysis of the characters, story, and scenes are reflected in her questions, which lead to this delightful interview.
Woah good questions! Mara did a wonderful job ❤ Always awesome to get more insight into the show ❤ Also, Jacob's last point about Louis and Sam's response about how Lestat is with the theater.. so interesting!
Excellent interview! 👌 Such insightful responses from Sam & Jacob. They really understand their characters & possess superb acting skills to portray them magnificently. They are PERFECTION, as is this series! I'm hooked!!!
it sounds like you have a hybrid english/US accent and it was fun to hear your accent shift from more US at the start to more english as it went on! great interview
Louis is the most “vampiric” because he possessed all “vampiric” capacity BEFORE being “turned” by Lestat. It is in his bloodline genetic capacity which is latent and all but forgotten. This capacity actually occurs at a far higher frequency than that which occurs when dependent on the blood of the living. It is also far more solar-compatible than solar-aversive. Lestat sensed this aspect in Louis at first sight and was captivated. There is far more to this phenomenon than most understand. Vampirism is the “left hand” process.

lmao Jacob's response to the last question... LET HIM COOK!!!!
yeah he was taking it loool
Right? I kept listening like damn this guy is spitting
These two are perfect for the series. There is a real bond between them. Beautiful together.

I mean he is lestat's blood, and lestat has ancient blood from his maker AND he has Akasha's blood in him so ofc Louis gotta be powerful af
lestat is definitely the strongest vampire however louis is up there for sure cause he has lestats blood
Jacob knows Louis so well. His Louis is a very complex character. Everything he says is true
I always say if Sam is possessed by Lestat Jacob is by Louis

I love the image of all the publisists turning around as one to see what wild thing Jacob is going to say. He's right! And he SHOULD say it!!!😂
