This was brilliant!!! Thank you so much!! My instructions (for elna brand but same everything) were so confusing and not at all clear! I'm so grateful. Thanks again!! 😙😙😙
I can only echo everyone else's praise for your really excellent video tutorial. After finally paying for a lesson this week on how to use my overlocker (years and years after buying it but despairing of ever being able to use it), 2 days later I tried a test piece. Aagghh. Threads all tangled so had to try and re-thread. 3 hours and huge frustration later, I wanted to throw the machine out of the window. Tried again this morning with the help of your great video. HOORAY! SUCCESS. You will be my constant companion whenever I need to re-thread the machine - especially that pesky lower looper. Can't believe why Janome made it so incredibly difficult to thread. Many thanks once again. You are a talented teacher.
You do it so effortlessly. I saved this video months ago so I can view it every time I need to thread the lower looper. I can’t thank you enough for doing it.
Thank you for taking the time to video these threading instructions. I didn't know the loop for the 2nd thread was hidden at the top. You were so helpful. God bless you
Your videos are WONDERFUL!... They are so easy to understand and you talk slow enough to be able to absorb the information. Your explanations are so clear and detailed. I just can't thank you enough for all your video's!
I haven’t bothered using mine in 3 years just because it was such a pain. Threads always breaking and whatnot. You’re a friggin goddess for figuring this out and sharing it with the world ❤️
This was wonderful! I'm used to sewing so it's a first time with a serger for me. You handled the tutorial very well and made sure you noticed where the threads went. Not only was it helpful, but you made it seem fun and enjoyable! Thank you very very much!
Thank you , so grateful to you for this video. I have had many hours of frustration trying to thread it. Hopefully now I will get more use out of it. 😊
Thank you so much for this video! I was gifted with a second hand serger and clueless 🙈 first I tried it myself and ended up with super loose seams. After watching your video and rethreading the seams are excellent. Ready to sew little pants for my baby boy now 🙏🏽🤗
All I wanted to do is smash the wife's serger into little pieces! We had miss placed her manual and her color code diagram was confusing. After watching this twice and then again while I threaded her serger. You made it look so easy and I now am able to do so myself! I don't understand why I had so much trouble before! You would think since I am able to thread both of her ten needle embroidery machines from scratch that the serger would have been easy! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!
Thank you so much for this video! My mother-in-law has an OLD serger and lost the book. She couldn't remember how to thread it. You saved me so much time and trouble! Thank you again!
Thank you for the refresher. I was changing my serger from rolled hem back to serging late one night. It beat me. I finally gave up and just finished with a zig zag. I will go back to sewing area and beat "The Beast" ....newly afirmed I shall conquer and divide...
I'm so happy, I could cry right now, see, I have 3 craft shows coming up, and I need the serger to do my dog kerchiefs, and some of the collars. thank you, merci, MILLES FOIS! :) NOW I will take the Dew (my dog) for a walk lol! :)YESSSSSS!
That was SO calm, and I stopped feeling overwhelmed. Thank you for the informative step-by-step! I think I can do it alone on an older model w/o a book. ;))
That was REALLY helpful. I was given a serger from a friend. There was no instructional manual. Are sergers similar to sewing machines in that I don't need a manual to get a sewing machine going, no matter what kind. Are all sergers set up using a similar premise?
@Colleen I have the My Lock 134D as well but at the moment the wheel is locked up and will not turn at all. Do you or anyone else have any suggestions on how to fix this issue? I have already taken the machine apart and oiled it but still cannot get it to unlock. Taking it to a repair guy is not an option
I could kiss you! OMG thank you SOOOOO much for ... for... this, for saving my sanity! I was given a Juki Serger, and well, I messed up the threads serging catnip toys (which is really NOT an easy feat with cats around...) anyways... I had to re-thread it from scratch, and my teacher had told me, NEVER try to NEVER have to. well, your awesome vid (and the Lord answering a quick prayer) saved my sanity, AND the nip toys! :) thank you! MUWAH! (I love your "accent" :) a no longer fearful gal! ^_^
I loved your clear instructions, But, why did you not run a piece of fabric through to show the result? Is it like my machine that after all the careful threading it does not mesh? I would have loved to see you zipping along : )
Hi, I honestly have not heard of this brand of serger before. I've had a quick look on the Internet and can only find one which seems to be an industrial serger. Make sure you DON'T but an industrial machine as your first. Industrial sergers are very fast, make a lot of noise and use more electricity than a domestic one.
Hello, I was looking to purchase a serger and I came across a siruba overlocker that was $150. Have u ever of and is it worth purchasing for my first use .
Hello I love your video. I am having an issue with by ulna serger. It used to work great then all of a sudden i turn it on and it sews for half a second then gets stuck. When i open it up to look what is it getting stuck on it looks like the lower looper blade can't move because it gets stuck with the top needles thread. I can move the hand wheel away from me but when i turn towards me it gets stuck in that position also. I have tried rethreading it 100 times to make sure i have everything in correct order. It is still not working, do you have any advice? Thank you
Hello! It’s been soo hard finding videos that use my same serger! It was a Ahhhhhh yes moment. My mother gave it to me and never used it. I don’t have a manual but can you please tell me how to thread a rolled hem on it????? I’m desperate I can’t find anything online for this machine I know it older like 2000 but my goodness come on Internet. I hope you can help
hi colleen hun ... once you have threaded ya overlocker ... when you change thread colour do you not tie off and pull the threads through ... i do that and its much easier
To be honest Tilly Timperm we in the UK call it an overlocker as well. Most of my audience however are from the US so I try to accommodate the language used.

Thank you for the compliment Patricia.
You do it so effortlessly. I saved this video months ago so I can view it every time I need to thread the lower looper. I can’t thank you enough for doing it.
Thank you for taking the time to comment Denise. Those lower loopers can be tricky to master.
Thank you for taking the time to video these threading instructions. I didn't know the loop for the 2nd thread was hidden at the top. You were so helpful. God bless you

Excellent news. Thanks for letting me know and I'm happy to help.
Thank you so much for your very kind words.
Great video on the lower looper. I usually tie off each new thread color. It takes a lot less time.
Great tip thanks for sharing! Thanks for commenting.
Happy to help.
BLESS YOU MY DEAR!! I just acquired an older serger (my first) and I was flying blind. Brilliant video. Thank you!

Haha. Don't let it beat you.
Thank you for saving me from threading my machine wrong. I found this video to be the best on-line so far.
Thank you Arlene for your kind comment, happy I could be of help.
Thank you for the great instructions. I do have a question though. If I am only using one needle do I still need the two lower loopers or only one?
Yes you do JoAnne.
Lovely! So MUCH help, thank you!!!
You're very welcome!
wow great video so so very clear many thanks

Hi. I have two sergers, the first (and my pride and joy) is my Bernina, the second, which appears in this video is a Janome My Lock 134D.

You’re welcome! Thanks for commenting😊
Your video has saved me from wanting to pull my hair out, thank you for this!
No problem ivy bowne! Glad I could help.
You are great! Thanks again!!!
I notice you threaded the upper and lower looper threads in a different order to the diagram. Does it make any difference?
Thanks.

Thanks for sharing Richy. Yes I am aware of this technique.
Is this for all sergers? Is there a difference between Singer, Brother and Janome?
Sergers basically have the same setup, they all sew an overlock stitch regardless of brand. Thank you for commenting yvobalcer.
Cool....very helpful
Glad you think so!
I can not thank you enough 😃😃😃😃😃
Have you seen this amazing tutorial video by FashionSewingBlogTV?
Threading a Serger
Down under we call it an over locker. I told the students about it being a serger and they looked at me funny.
To be honest Tilly Timperm we in the UK call it an overlocker as well. Most of my audience however are from the US so I try to accommodate the language used.
@@petertimp Called an overlocker in the UK too.
I have a new home differential feed...is it the same process?
Thank you!
You're welcome Deborah!
