Oh THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Bernina videos are not my favorite because they usually play music and dont TALK the customer through the process. Thank you so much for explaining I have been at this for days. Now I am sure I can go and do it properly
Gayle, you have another diehard fan here! I was unable to understand how to thread the confusing lower looper by reading the mfg book, watching their video or from the brief demo at purchase. Your video perfectly clarified how to do it, and I’ve bookmarked it for future reference. A million thanks!!
Thank you! Your tutorial was exactly what I needed for the lower looper! Thread broke and I had never had trouble and had rethreaded many times. I wish I had looked you up sooner!
Thank you so much Gayle for the first tutorial that doesn't presume I already know how and then skip the tiny steps! I'm always frustrated by how instructions are not designed for a beginner in a specific area, I've been sewing for over 50++ years, but we're all beginners at something, that's what makes sewing still fun. I'm back to surging without fear of breaking a thread!
I had spent two days watching various videos, reading the manual and experimenting with my Funlock. Just had to stop and put it away, nothing was working! I finally came across your video, Gayle. To use the same phrase as a someone else, yours was the "best video ever". I'm jumping for joy that l have, at last, mastered threading my machine! You are precise, from top to bottom, with the mechanics of where threads go and how placement is supposed to look. Thank you, so much! : )
Thanks Gayle. I just got my new B44 funlock and your tutorial did helped me a lot. So easier to follow than referring to the manual. Your tutorial focused/magnified the actual action and so it was so handy to pause it, do my bit...rewind and proceed. Enjoying my diy projects now. Kudos to you for helping out.
The tutorial is very helpful thankyou. I would possibly substutute descriptions of "here" and "here" with left or right. I find threading this machine somewhat challenging and fiddly.
I have tried numerous times (20) to thread this machine. I follow the video instructions as given. The result is failure. The threads bunch up under the presser foot wrapped around two small projections which lie next to the cutter. Its impossible to start a chain. In the instruction book there are no suggestions in the Troubleshooting section concerning the issue that i am faced with. The troubleshooting section assumes that you have been successful in threading it in the first place. I am hopeful that one day i will be able to use my overlocker. I bought it 6 months ago and am ready to get rid of it unless i get some help.
@@jeaniem7756 on this model, the threading heavy thread is exactly the same as thinner thread. Consider lowering tension setting on the paths with heavier thread.
The bernette 44 does not have chain stitch capability. Are you using a model b48? If so, make sure that the needle is in the cover/chain center hole rather than the needle set marked for overlock stitch.
@@BERNINAofNaperville if the bernette 44 does not have a chain facility what do you call the 'stitch' which comes from the machine when you start the nachine going? What causes the machine to 'stitch' on one spot? Am i the only one this happens to?

Much better than the manufacturer video. Just what I need!!! Thank you so very much!

Thank you for the lovely tutorial, especially for thread 2!! saved me :)
Thank you Auntie Gayle this was much more helpful I will try again after work

Thanks your tutorial is well done and old fumble fingers managed to thread my Funlock. I saved your video to refer to in case I need it.
U are a great teacher, thanks for this.

Thanks GAYLE! This makes it a lot easier to understand. I’m still learning to use this machine. I’m taking a class next week on serger basics.
Thank you so much!!! I tried threading serger using my manual but the RED looper threw me for a LOOP!!!🙃
You made this so much easier to understand ❤ the manual is very poorly written. Huge thank you 🙏
I’m about ready to throw my b44 across the room. Thank you for the simple explanation.
Know exactly what you mean!! 😂LMAO!
Can you do a video on rethreading with the knots attaching a different color thread? Watched this several times so thanks!

I can’t get the red thread looper to be in place can’t understand it???

This machine works great once it’s threaded. It’s a bargain for the price. It works great.
