    First thing I enjoyed playing with was the sequencer and getting it to behave some what like a straight 16 beat part/ measure. I like syncing up with Pocket Operators haha. This little thing is awesome and so is your channel. Keep 'em jam'n! 🎶

    You made this machine easier to understand

  • @Erbauer

    The idea is good, but here are three thoughts:
    You could have gone to 1/2 or 1/4 with beat. Then the interaction with other devices is easier, or the bpm a little more plausible.
    You can multiply a finished, repeating bassline via the menu with 'dubl'.
    You lose the bass note when recording the melody.

    a question ? How to use the Roland S-1 Aira sound. Using a Novation launch key keyboard.
    What parameters or settings should be activated in S-1?

    Hey man can you just record a live take? or does the J6 lock it in always? On the T8 for bass press the keyboard button and lets you do a 16/32 live real handy

    • @davehyper7835

    When you were adding extra notes to the initial main baseline, how come it didn’t just add the notes overtop? Instead it replaced them? I thought you could play four simultaneous notes per step?

    • @davehyper7835
      @davehyper7835  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You can play simultanous notes per step but i jumped an octave and couldn't get to that bass note to press it at the same time as the higher note. Basically you can press more than 1 note whilst recording each step (a chord if you like too) but in order to keep that original bass note i would have had to of pressed it together with the higher note and i'd shifted an octave i wasn't able to access it. Perhaps with a midi keyboard plugged in you would be able to play notes across multiple octaves simultanously. Hope this makes sense.

    • @schmapps1
      @schmapps1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@davehyper7835 ahhhh ok. I would have thought you could just add a note overtop, I didn’t realize you had to play all the notes simultaneously in order to make a chord on a step

    • @ChrisLoos1
      @ChrisLoos1 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@schmapps1You could accomplish that with one additional step after live recording the melody: edit each step with a melody note and add its missing bass note back in.

    • @schmapps1
      @schmapps1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ChrisLoos1 ahhh ok. Too bad you can’t just ‘live overdub’ on the J6

    when you change the sound, the parameters from the potentiometers are no longer the same and you can't make the connection from one sound to another.....all the new range has this handicap , no one asked for the rotary potentiometers, but still you can't get over that serious problem.... it's a joke from Roland

    • @davehyper7835

    OK so nobody uses this machine to write any intricate cord progressions and like trying to see if you can go like a bar for one note but maybe half bar for the next like some core progressions are complicated like that like but everybody just runs this thing like an Arator or a sequence or trying to get as many like busy note things happening as possible so that way twiddling knobs sounds interesting OK gadgets are cool but……. …. … …
