- I'm always impressed by these videos of (young) musicians doing complex dawless jams, where their fingers move with lightning speed over all these little devices. My 50+ year old fingers are not that fast anymore, so I keep my jams simple, but I still love making this kind of music. @rolandsynthandaira did an excellent job with these two machines, which are perfect for a beginner like me. I would love to see more machines in this series though. Especially something that can easily be used as a lead synth, like the Volca Keys or Volca FM. So I hope you're listening @rolandsynthandaira 😊

great, sounds like an old 90s record
Very cool 👌 enjoying here in California 😎✌️
This sounds great!
Nice. I'm also 50+. You're not alone! I started out around eighteen months ago with a Novation Circuit having no clue what I was doing or getting myself into! I really like the T-8. I've uploaded quite a few recently including the T-8.
Thanks. I’ve been looking at the Novation Circuit Tracks as well, but haven’t decided yet. There’s so many cool budget devices out there, like the Volcas, and I don’t want to end up with G.A.S. 😄
@@stofbug I have the original (OG) Circuit. Very intuitive. I've not used it for a while. Yes it's very easy to get carried away and buy more gear, especially as devices like Volcas and Aira Compacts are relatively affordable. I've tried to buy stuff that covers something different. Doesn't always go that way though! The latest thing I bought is a DIY kit from Meeblips. That does something completely different to anything else I own. Makes me feel a little better about the purchase!
How do you like the J-6? I've been tempted to get one as it's such a unique device and maybe it will teach me some music theory at the same time (great excuse). I'm not actually that keen on a lot of the sounds I've heard from it on TH-cam but I'm sure it's very capable. I like the way you've used it here.
@@electro-soma I think it is a good starting device for beginners like me, because of all the chord presets in different genres and the variations/styles that can be applied to these chords. It helps you understand how chords can be combined to create basic melodies. More advanced users are probably better off with synths that have a bit more freedom and sound customization control. I like the restrictions of both the J-6 and T-8 for now because I will not get lost in a myriad off options and it will help me teach the basics of electronic music, but I can definitely foresee moving on to more complex machines in the future. As I said before, the Novation Circuit Tracks looks interesting because of it's extended sequencer functionality and ability to add additional synth/sample packs, and I also really like the sounds from the Volca Keys and Bass. And all on a relavitely beginner-friendly low budget.
Very nice.
Thanks.
