As someone who’s worked on quite a few different vehicles myself, and owning a BWW (granted an older one from 2003) BMWs aren’t as hard as people make them out to be most of the time. At least compared to modern cars. Obviously there are loads of cars ways easier than mine from that generation of vehicles, but as someone who knows a good bit but is still learning I’ve been able to do a lot of stuff myself: like replace my PCV system cause when I bought it, it was burning oil, and my power steering pump and lines, outer tie rods and my front control arm bushings so far.
It's reallly not that bad. No offense but there's a reason you aren't an engineer. Like it ain't as simple as snapping your fingers and moving the subframe, the car needs a subframe. I hate how people make it like it's suuuuuch a simple thing to fix.

I do those in about 3.5 hrs flat out the door. Love those things. Its an N20 really good time to do the timing chains and guides if the customer has the money

My old 2010 750 was leaking oil from the oil cooler line and the cheapest price to have it fixed is $2200.!! Since I fixed it I sold it right after!! Actually lost money on it. They're beautiful and ride like a dream but EVERYTHING on it is crazy expensive!! $320 for the plastic around the driver's rear view mirror!! Just the plastic!! Never buy another one!!
Brother you literally had a 7 series with a V8, that car is meant for luxury and performance not reliability. There’s a reason that car was 80k new, it’s not in your price range to afford. Also if you have a BMW, if you can’t work on it, you’re dumb as hell for paying someone else to if you can’t afford it!!!! Go buy a Prius or Toyota if you want reliability, but you lose the luxury and performance and feel of the ultimate driving machine
I did an oil pan gasket on my 2010 335i xdrive last year. Took 3 days with my buddies help. The xdrive models have the front axels passing through the actual oil pan so u gotta take those out too along with removing the subframe. Never again...
@@ZSAGamingthe new ones you can't work on. There are sensors on the shroud. Once you take the shroud off you lose the warranty. If someone gave me a choice between a BMW or bicycle. I would choose the bicycle. Easier to maintain

Imagine having to lower the subframe to remove an oil pan. Absolutely despicable engineering. Worked on a 2011 FX 35, that needed a new starter. Had to unbolt and raise the engine and transmission to get room to remove the starter.
Somebody tried to get me to do this job for them on the street. I laughed. Told them I could drain the oil and hope to seal it from the outside with Permatex RED STUFF 😅😅😅
And now you know why it cost so much to repair autos. They need to take off so many parts to get to the one that needs repair then reassemble everything.

The only other available 6cyl engine available for that model year was a gas N55 or a diesel N57 both turbo charge which are not a “528i”. Thus leaving me to believe that he is actually working on a early model with naturally aspirated 6 cylinder engine that was only produce at the first 2 years of that model production (2010-2011). Maybe you should take your own advice, listen and watch the video , then do your research key board hero. I’ve built and repaired those engine for over 20yrs.
Buy them used right outside of warranty. Typically you'll get to 100k without major repairs. 100 to 200k budget about $2500. I've owned several different vehicles and BMW has their issues but they are very cheap to fix diy. Some models have bigger items like direct injector (Bosch's makes them last 140k or 10 year) water pump and ignition coils. Nothing beats the ride quality. Makes the extra repair worth it

Add another 5 hours if it’s an xdrive. It has a front differential that’s attached to the oil pan. Both front axels need to come off.
Don't forget to replace the bolts! They're one time use and they stretch!

2014 528 is a 4cyl engine. That oil pan gasket your holding is for a 6cyl. I believe you have a late 2010 to 2011 528 6cyl.
