***ABOUT THIS VIDEO:
This will be my fourth winter plowing snow with an ATV. I have a 2004 Suzuki Eiger 400 and the blade I use for plowing snow on this ATV is a Kimpex Click n Go 2.
Four years ago when we bought this property I did some research on what would be an economical and productive method to do snow removal. For us a that time plowing snow with a four wheeler made the most sense. An ATV is what we could afford and we could use for other chores around the property.
I watched many an ATV snow plowing video let me tell you, and that's how I decided to go the ATV and blade route.
I was very surprised how well plowing my driveway with an ATV was. I really didn't want to pay someone $60 a month to do snow removal each time it snowed. That would have been expensive.
This video is also a good tutorial on how to plow snow with an ATV. I think I do it about as good as it can be done.
I hope you enjoyed watching my ATV snow plowing video!

MOOSE ATV PLOWS... The best!!!
@@richarddowner4292 I'm not here to argue about brands or the workability of the plow. But I just checked out the Moose Plow and I would say the Kimpex Click n Go I use seems stronger and easier to use. I don't have to lay down on the ground to mount the blade to the mount underneath the atv either. Also I don't have to tie a strap to the front rack so I can have something for the winch cable to attach to. Not a big fan of the way the blade frame is attached to the mount below the atv. Those small pins seem like a weak point to me. Just my opinion. You should take a look at the Kimpex Click n Go plow system. I've used mine 4 years now with no problems.

Plowing with an atv is so much fun ! I find myself plowing neighbors driveways all the time. I use turtle wax plastic restorer on my plow and my shovels and the snow doesn't stick try it you'll love it
Thanks for the tip, I will try it. It is fun haha
Great video! I have about the same driveway and was just quoted $160 per hr, minimum 1 hr 😳 Now I'm looking at an atv to do it myself. No longer daunting.
Don't usually comment, but I actually bought a quad yesterday after watching this video as your plowing is a very similar use case to mine. I had no idea a quad could plow like that. Now I can't wait for it to snow!
I didn't think a quad would be strong enough to plow snow either until 4 years ago and some research. They work great. Good luck!
If you get yourself a big bore (750 cc or more) there’s very little that can stop it from plowing like a champ.
I have a 400 bombardier with a plow. It’s a beast in the snow. I love it.
How much you pay ?Thanks !
I think the snowplow on the ATV is the best way to go for a homeowner. ATVs can be had for as little as a few hundred bucks (if they need work) and the plow can be had for cheap too if you buy in the off-season. I have a 1998 Sportsman 500 that has needed a decent amount of work and a plow I got for $50 and it is a joy to use when we get snow, much more fun and less work than snowblowing, plus I can move the snow right where I want it without it blowing in my face the whole time. 4 LO is where its at.
I agree with you 100% You can get in any spot with an Atv as well. Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a good day. 😃
Atv is awesome, the only downfall is you're in the elements but other than that it's great.
Oh man! You just saved me thousands! I knew ATV’s could plow, but for the last six months, I’ve been researching three-quarter and 1 ton trucks with a 9 foot V plow…. because that’s what the snowplow sales guys were recommending for my application but now I don’t think I need to go that route. Granted, my application will be very similar to yours, but about 6 to 7 times longer in length that road that you push the snow out into the ditch, I’ll have a road just like that which will also need to be plowed and that’s about five or 6 miles long. Obviously, this would take me a lot longer to get the job done compared to a truck but if it can be done, I’m all forward and will not care about spending extra time when I can save so much more money. Thank you for the video.
Great to hear! 5 or 6 miles of straight road would be a blast. It doesn't take that long. Huge savings!
I am actually thinking of getting an ATV to plow my driveway, I even found a mower that can be towed behind, I was originally going to get a subcompact tractor instead, but the price with the attachments, was a lot more expensive.
Got a 700 kodiak with a 55 inch plow. Works really great. My gravel is kind of deep so I tried a 2 in piece of pvc pipe on the bottom on the plow. It actually worked really well but eventually shattered.
All great points, especially about not using skids (hockey pucks) when you have a layer of frozen ice so your blade doesn’t damage the road. You are lucky you can push off to the side. My driveway has no drop on the sides ad north facing. If you don’t push it all off going straight, you end up with frozen ice mounds till spring
Yeah.....I have the same plow set-up on my Polaris Sportsman 800cc twin 4 wheeler. Had it for 4-5 years now and no complaints here in up-state NY. Nice video.
I believe you, it's a good plow system. I'll be putting the click n go 2 plow to work this morning 🙂
I've been plowing my own, along with a neighbor or two, with our atv for five years. Saves me 4-500$ a year. And it's fun work. 750 foot of driveway takes me a half hour. More if I get fussy. Now I look forward to when it snows, more the better. It can be hard on the ATV though.
One serious upgrade I made is studded tires. I can plow up to 6 inches in two wheel drive with no spin. Good luck.
Yes it is fun, but now its March and I've had MySpace of fun lol 😆
yup, snowmobile studs are super agro and would be stopped at nothing.
just bought an eiger !! after using my ltf 250 for over 25 years
Hell of a driveway(expressway) lol👍
I know, I luv this driveway. Lots of privacy
Any tips for a first time snow plow owner ? How does the blade not get stuck n bend up ? How low do you drop it
You can also add wings to each side of the plow to contain the snow when doing your apron, & the edges throw better with the angle
Hi. I need one. What kind of ATV is it and what’s the CC on it? Also, I would need a plow like yours...
I bought a quad and plow this year to do my place. Best investment ever. Cut my time huge and so much fun. 😁. Great video 👍
Thank you!
Beautiful Honda Dream 💕
That Suzuki has a nice, warm, relaxing hum to it! All you need now is a remote angle release and/or a power angle! EDIT: I'm jealous of that beautiful homestead and allllll that nice distance from the road! God bless, bud.
Wouldn't that be nice to have a power angle! Thanks!!
Do you still have the quad and plow? If so are you still using it and liking it....enough power and traction while pushing snow?
The quad is gone, I have a newer quad but I'm still using the Click N Go 2 plow system. 7 winters now and I think it is great.
@@GettingItDoneRepairs thanks for the reply and advice.
Nice property.
If you get a lot of snow, do your edge passes first; then do the driveway as normal staring in the middle & working to the edges. That way you're not trying to push a ton of snow, & you can throw it farther
Not a bad idea! Will try it. Thanks
Nice sunrise!
Sure is!
I have to ask if you were in 4 wheel drive? It seems like you are only in 2 wheel drive with all the sliding around.
just as an idea if you get a sideXside you could put the plow from the Quad on the SideXside might take a little bit of modification to the plow mount but it save you from buying a new pow
And the best part is you have fun doing it with that Suzuki
Yes sure do!
I do about the same in Maine on my 2003 Arctic Cat 500 with a 54” Warn plowed. My plow has the handle on top to change blade direction. Just ordered some new SUNF tires on Amazon too! The stock don’t have that great of grip but I used to use chains. It’s just a pain to put them on and take them off. Might get some extra rims to put the old tires on and that way I can leave them chained. Also thinking about getting one of those polyurethane edges. I think it will perform better on my gravel driveway.
Thanks for watching
Just got a atv woth plow best money spent yet
Thank You ,that was a really nice video.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching
Let it snow let it snow let it snow... We thought about getting a plow on ours a few years back but in the end decided to get one for the tractor. Fun ride along! 🤙-Josh
That works as well. My Dad has a blower on his tractor.
@@GettingItDoneRepairs nice!
Add some reflectors or some hi viz paint on those poles so you can sell them. I guess we could ask everyone what they would do about the curb and the poles for safety.
That little ATV makes a nice snow-plow, too! Good job!!
Sure does, thank you!
I love my Suzuki Eiger
Yes same here, very reliable. Had some mechanical issues like any other brand and it isa 2004, but overall really happy with it. Its tough as nails! Thanks for giving us a view. Much appreciated 🙂
Nice to watch, that sunrise sure was beautiful. Oh my, steaming off the engine. Nice that the plow paid for itself in the first year. Side by side sounds like fun as well as being useful. ❤👍
Glad you enjoyed it. Yes the ATV is important around here for many jobs and fun!
Well that’s cool! Glad we don’t have to do that here....yet! Lol!
Oh you know you'd enjoy it. 🤣
@@GettingItDoneRepairs absolutely it’s right up my alley!
Will it plow heavy snow well? We are about to move to a home on 30 acres with a 1/4 mile gravel driveway and I am worried when we get heavy, 8" snows that a setup like this won't be able to do the deed. It looks great for lighter snows, though. This video helped put some fears of mine to rest, it was excellent!
@jwcarlson in 7 years living here, I have had to call a guy with a truck and blade twice. We had so much heavy wet snow the atv couldn't get the job done.
Nice video...helpful hint for you... you mentioned when plowing your atv wants to kick the rear out....and you commented it may have been the ice for previous stormes...that could be...
Suggest that you change blade pitch.
Roll the top of the blade out further past the bottom cutting blade. This changes the bottom cutting blade too drag ... it will not be so acute to the surface and not dig in when plowing.... hope this is helpful...great video tho...
Thanks, good idea!
what type of cc is it and what brand quad is that?
It's a Suzuki Eiger 400
wow no wonder it can plow through snow and nice vid
Do you have a center mount plow or a front mount? I know this video is 2 years old and you may not respond.
I met the limits of the eigers plowing ability. 13 inches of wet heavy snow was too much. I could push the snow only so far and the piles accumulated to the point it wouldn't move it anymore. I had to bust out the shovel and snowblower and cut paths to allow the quad to get by. Usually i plow with the storm but it started at 9pm and finished by 8am. I can see why you added the side by side with plow to your collection.
Great video! I enjoy plowing with my ATV also
Thank you
Hi! I really enjoyed your Eiger snowplow videos. I have a 2003 Eiger myself but cannot find a Kimpex Click N Go 2 system that fits. Would you still have the model number? I have received no response from Kimpex on this. Thanks from Eastern Ontario.
Yes I will find it for you.
Cool plow-along!
Best video I’ve ever seen!
Thank you
I use a Polaris sportsman 800 with a Mose plow
How much you for it?
That set up pushed the snow nicely! I add weight to my ATV when the snow gets deeper. Nice video!
Thank you
I have a question. Do you know where I can get cheap but decent suzuki eiger parts? I got an 02 Eiger LTF400F
I don't know what parts you need, but you can most times find what you need on Amazon and Ebay. Usually cheaper than parts from the dealer.
A little unrelated but what gloves do you use to keep warm while plowing?
anything warm I can find around the house.
You will want to turn your blade left sometimes instead of always right so your metal cutting edge on the bottom of the blade will wear more evenly
or flip the end around and then flip it the top down, and then repeat, so you can always plow the direction you want
Yes always plow wide
Is your ATV a 2WD or a 4x4? I was thinking of getting a snow plow for my 2WD Rancher but wondering if the 2WD will be a hindrance?
Its 4x4 you need. It would be impossible to plow with 2wd
@@GettingItDoneRepairs How much you pay? I want to get one. Thanks!
Nice video. Exactly the info I was looking for. Thanks.
Thank you
Great video!!
Thank you for watching!
Great Video hope you make more plowing videos :)
Thanks you, I actually made 2 in the last couple weeks. You can go to my channel and see them under "Getting It Done's Most Recent Vids"
That looks so fun.
It actually is! 🙂
Yes!! Can you come by the cottage and plow our drive?!?!? Lol 😂 Great video Roland 🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦
hahaha thanks Brenton.
Do ATVs need snow tires in this condition? And can you install and uninstall the plow yourself?
The tires are good enough for snow and yes I install and uninstall the plow. Here is a video where I install the plow to my ATV. Thanks for watching 😀th-cam.com/video/gOXV4w9NEJw/w-d-xo.html
That looks fun
Thanks and yes it is fun! Especially that day, the weather was amazing! Thank you for watching
Ok now your showing off. lol. I love this so cool. Great video
I'm just having fun and sharing it with you Tony 🤣🤣
Thanks for sharing your video, I really enjoyed watching it 🙏
Thank you!
I would love to have a snow plow ATV
When I hit 100K subs I will give this away in a giveaway lol
@@GettingItDoneRepairs ok be sure and remember me when you do lol !
Nice video and nice homestead. Are you still plowing with an atv or switch over to a truck?
Yes I'm still plowing with the atv, but I recently bought a side x side and plow also. Thanks for watching
Looks like fun, I want one!
GREAT video Roland. but... i will ask you in another month.. if your still enjoying this pastime lol.
No need to ask I actually enjoy it all winter. Haha
Nice! I'm going to be buying a new Polaris Sportsman 570 and plow hopefully sometime this fall (If I can actually get my hands on one)
Right on!
Do you know that it is eligibly to push the snow across the road
I can see why you bought the bigger HP side by side now. 😁. Thanks for the video, always a pleasure watching your insight on things.
Thanks for visiting Cory!
Always a pleasure bud.
What is the best ATV and plow to manage a long uphill driveway that is paved?
I can't say which atv is the best but seeing its uphill try to get an atv with power, maybe 500cc or more. I really like the Click n Go 2 plow system or the KFI plow. Keep an eye out on this channel, I have a video coming out talking about plowing and different conditions. 😉
What brand of plow are you using on your Eiger?
I'm using a Kimpex Click n Go 2. Thanks :-D
@@GettingItDoneRepairs Thank you sir.
Just bought a home with a 350m long drive way (Alberta Canada). $15000+ for a tractor with a blower is way too much, $1500 for a walk behind blower is too slow after a winter storm! I think you may have just saved my a ton of money and time because I've never thought to use a quad!! Thank you.
I love saving people money! The quad and plow get the job done. If you ever find the quad slipping, purchase chains for the rear tires.
What fun! ♥ your place!
Hi Lorrie! thanks we enjoy living around here. The past 3 years have been amazing
luckily, in England, we don't have much snow.
I was out yesterday snowplowing with my atv, but your driveway is way longer and you are living on a great place I see 😊
Thanks the driveway is my favorite part of this home. Lots of privacy from the road.
wow, how long is your driveway, and if i may, where do you live? are these ATV's capable of having snow throwers on them?
If you put a pool noodle on the bottom of the blade, you won't kill the gravel, and it will be a smoother run. Great video!
Wouldn't that pool noodle get chewed immediately? I imagine it would fall off right away also.
Wish I could use a atv to clean my driveway. I live in the wide open and get 4+ feet drifts in my driveway. Last winter I borrowed my bosses skid steer to clean my driveway and had problems with clearing it with that. Last fall I got a snowblower for my Craftsman tractor and that works great I just eat through the drifts with that. I also have a cab on my tractor the wind sucks coming across the field.
Yes I bet it does. You must hate to see snow sometimes
Thats a
Goodp video
Thanks Andy, lots of fun even when work has to be done.
Go to a trusted dealer and talk to them about a SxS with a plow and any other attachments you need. If you want new then search for one, otherwise go slow and make the toys work for you.
I actually have a side x side and new plow. I published a video today about that
Nice Video, My Wife has the exact same quad as yours, yes she loves it, no plow though (its on my Suzuki King Quad 400). Thanks for sharing your video :)
Thanks and the Eiger is a work horse. Very dependable
Is it a 4x4? I'm looking at an Eiger 2x4.
@@albertrotell3591 Yes my wife's is a 4x4
Happy New Year
Happy New Year 🙂
Great video. Looks like fun. North of 7.....Cloyne, Northbrook area? I'm up in Palmer Rapids. Getting a Warn Plow for my Grizzly this winter. Been doing my 20 car driveway by hand bombing the snow far to long.
In the marmora area. Yes time for you to get a blade
Is 450cc enough for plowing?
I have a 350 4 x 4 to plow snow
My blade on my Polaris has electric left and right angle, never have to get off the machine
That would be great. Thanks for watching
👍
That got the job done quickly. Take Care.
Yes not bad, goes quick with the plow
Does a great job! I’m subbed
Yes sure does, thanks for your support 🙂
I'll do the same for you. I'll check you out in a bit.
Is your ATV a four wheel drive?
Yes it is
Nice shirt man!!! What is all that weird white stuff on the ground? 🤣🤣🤣 That setup makes quick work of that snow!!! That GoPro on your head makes you look like a well insulated cyborg. 🤣 - Rick
LOL Rick, I didn't even think of how much I do look like a cyborg. This is my favorite job around here. You just drift off into thinkland and plow away. I turned to quick and didn't get to see the back of the shirt much.
North of 7 eh? You must live just down the road
My blacktop man tells me not to plow my blacktop. I use a snow blower when I have to.
Does he think a plow is too hard on the pavement?
I probably already commented,, get v-bar tire chains they make plowing a lot less effort
Looked into this plow after watching your video. I can’t justify spending that kind of cash on it. Going with a KFI instead.
You would track straighter and get "pushed" about less by banked snow if you had about 100# front and rear weights, salt bags, iron bolted on, wheel weights (ideal), or something, ... it's noticeable that you're surfing as you drive (surfing with the bars, because it's not planted). screw some snowmobile studs (find the super shorts) i just looked this up and bought more off ebay, best pricing per unit, cheeeeeeap.. Kold Kutter Track/Tire Traction Ice Screws - 3/8" #8 250 Pack - KK038-8-250
they're removable, very quick/easy, maybe 5 minutes per wheel to insert 20 into the deep tread knobs, so no flats, super traction, maybe run in sides of tall knobs so stick out less when tire compresses, to minimize chewing up pave
work fantastic on boots in ice conditions, packed sno, etc., probably work on truck tires to bail out of temporarily being stuck in stead of chaining up if one tire is spinning, battery powered driver... 2 minutes, bam, unstuck...
Don’t plow with blade straight. Not efficient and much more wear and tear on ur machine. Windrow as much as you can
Too bad it’s illegal to plow snow across the street but I won’t tell hahaha I do it too
Lol I always clean it up
@@GettingItDoneRepairs haha me too dude but listen I love your channel keeep doing what you do it’s great content
gotta love all the stickers on the wheel wells, don't do's BS.. I remove them It looks way better hahaha
You're right!
where did you get the plow?
I got the Click n Go2 plow from my local dealer in 2018
Great video. It looks so beautiful there. What part of the country is this?
I would suggest tire chains
I've been plowing 4 winters without chains no problem.
