Thanks. Very good narration considering how long ago it was. I was there also and was 14 years old. I raced there a few times, but mostly at Saddleback Park. (Beg, Jr., Int. classes) My memory of riders from back then is still excellent. Nice work.

My gosh, I was there, can't believe its been 50 years!!! Carlsbad was a motocross town (and a surfer town). During finals each semester at Carlsbad High, a couple guy would race down the hallway (with very loud expansion chambers!) and just disrupt the entire school!! We had the most fun, generation! Thanks for posting this.

Wow, what great camera angles for a 12 year old! Thank you for swiping the camera for the day - I was at the 1975 race when I was 14 following my dads untimely death the year before and motocross helped me though it and became an important part of my life Thank you again for this incredible footage - Carlsbad is still sacred ground although development has now closed it, it will remain forever open in part to footage like this....

Vintage Cold War Motocross. Times were so different back then. I am very impressed with your recognition of all of the riders, one rider who is always so easy to identify though is Roger DeCoster. Just look at him, even in these old movies, he really was and still is "The Man". He set the standard for proper position and style. I'm sure the first to agree would be David Baily. Thanks again!

I wish there was a database to watch all the old races. Newer generations need to see the history!

awesome video, I very much miss going to that Race. Me & My buds always made it out. I gave up racing when they shut down Indian dunes, & Saddleback, Then
    shortly after that Carlsbad died.
I wish there were more videos out there of
    these iconic tracks.

Man, I love this stuff. My Cousin's raced every weekend at Carlsbad and Wednesday's at Southbay. Having growing up in N. San Dawg County I can say these were Gods to us.

Anyone remember back in 1974 Yamaha put on "Yamaha Dirt Days"? Yamahas factory racers would go to local tracks and "teach" motocross for a day. I went to it in Michigan at Milan Raceway, "Teachers" were Pierre Karmakers , I think it might have been Hart, also and can't think of the 3rd.

Carlesbad got the Nationals because the Europeans couldn't win at ACP in Phoenix because the track was too dificult and they were afraid of the suicide. ACP refused to change the track so the Nationals moved to Carlesbad. Where are the Europeans now?
