I have learned so much of your lecture Dr. Abramson, & I enjoyed listening to you as well. I'm a Roman Catholic Christian but also a follower of yours.
Thank you very much for this invaluable source of information.

I'm Roman Catholic and also regard the professor as one of the best historians on TH-cam. We are of Irish ancestry but there is a family fable of a Spanish jewess, Rebecca, in the family line. We have a very old black and white of great uncle Joshua wearing the skull cap. There is a Jewish cemetery in Dublin so a few Sephardi may have settled there.
I like the long lectures!!! : )
And the Chinese food jokes!!!
Thank you!
Excellent presentation!
What a great teacher Dr. Abramson is.
Another Christian here who loves Professor Abramson. I think every Westerner & Christian should be more knowledgeable about Jewish history. Honestly, since Judaism in the foundation upon which all human rights & any logical, fair judicial system are based, I think everyone should have at least a basic knowledge of Jewish ethics & history. I don’t think Judaism & Christianity get enough credit for the positive changes they brought to the pagan world, especially Judaism.
Thank you for the kind endorsement! Glad you find the videos useful.
Thank you for uploading the video and taking the time to expand and explain this very important period of Jewish history..I missed most of the live webcast a few days ago and was pleasantly surprised to see it uploaded so I could continue watching it! Have watched quite a few of your other videos, so much information to those that want to understand more of Jewish history and struggle for survival and it's unproportionate impact, often but not always, with tragic consequences.
Thank you for your interest! I am glad that you find the videos helpful.
Hi. I listened to this lecture with rapt attention. An hour and a half flew by. I then listened to your lecture entitled 'Where do the words "Jew" and "Israel" come from?'.
So, Im back here for a second listen with an ear that hears 'Jehudim' when Jew or Jewish is spoken and therefore a new perspective. Thank you.
I'm glad that you benefit from the lectures!
It is also used to describe the Sabbath immediately preceding the Jewish fast day of Tisha B'Av, as it is a day of mourning.
WOW! Amazing. Thank you
Thank you. This was a fascinating lecture.
I'm glad that it was useful to you!
Thank you. I am at Tel Aviv. :)
My account represents people all over the world. We trust you have a sign on your door that reads, "Expropriator of property belonging to a banished, historically native family." (מפקיע רכוש השייך למשפחה מגורשת).
And if she is a descendant of Anusim who is returning to Israel then she’ll have a Mezuzah on her door post!
This was a Great Lecture. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Great new, full lecture.
Very interesting thank you
I have friends that live right near Iroquois Falls!! They were in Val Gagne, now in Timmins. Beautiful country up there! But yes, very... homogeneous. ❤ Todah for another great lecture!
Ty for this
Professor: wouldn’t that be be Aggripi or Aggripim? Love the Chinese food jokes. Always wonderful and educational
Growing up in Texas, I heard hillbilly Texans say: "You cain't hep it." In other words, their pronunciation of the word "help" was "hep". "Pillow" was pronounced, and probably still is, "pillar". My explanation for antisemitism is simply tension over the doctrine of majority rule. Gentiles cannot stand that such a tiny group are so successful and so influential out of proportion to their numbers. Thomas Sowell says basically the same thing.
Awesome!
Thanks!
Is it true that in 1483 King Ferdinand appointed Tomás de Torquemada as inquistor-general ending the papacy’s role in the Spanish Inquisition?
I listen to your teachings. I find them enjoyable and very informative. I am Catholic and believe it is important to understand history from both Christian and Jewish perspectives. I want to thank you for making your teachings available they have been instrumental in understanding my faith and world politics. ❤
Thank you for the very kind words.
Thank you for the image of King Herod digging into some lo mein
The supposed Cassius Dio interpolation was actually found in Arabic translations of Josephus that predate Dio and were found in Yemen.
I love it, the Inquest held at the tavern😂
תודה רבה שלום
Would it make sense to study Roman history as background?
Proffesor Abramson, I wanted your opinion what you think of Dr Michael Ben Ari's theory on the war of the Jews with the Romans
I’m not familiar with his work, sorry.
Thanks . HieroSolyma = in hungarian language - PLACE NAME still have SOLYMA : where lot of eagels use to living ( b'cause of lot's of food for them ) . Salem -> sólyom - eagle . Etc...
Whatever happened to the original canaanite population?
They disappear or were they absorbed!
They split of into different ethno-religious groups, one of them being the early Israelites.
no cc :(
I've heard people say 'Hep, Hep'' to move Sheep.
The story about Rabbi Yochanan ben Zackai is fictional. The story depicts Rabbi Yochanen sneaking out of Jerusalem during the siege to meet Vespasian. The issue is Vespasian was not present at the siege, Titus was. The siege began in April or March of 70CE, Vespasian was already Emperor for a whole year. Additionally you left out that the story is a near copy of the story Josephus claimed happened to him.
Were any of these military leaders women?
I thought the joke was good. Made me laugh before you wondered if you should have made it. Hope it was kosher.
Thanks, again, for sharing your well of knowledge.
Herod could not have had syphilis. It wasn't in Europe or the Middle East during that era.
There is no less-introspective historian on TH-cam.
Im very tolerant of jew jokes and mean th ings said to me the reason being i can counter every one of them logically and stay calm . I had a friend that was one of those people that would ask to see your horns or say your jew nose is really big did you make a lot of money today . One day he came down the stairs and the first thing he says loud you dirty jew .. i think i had enough at the point and had to adjust him in my own house .
