You're not going to believe this, but this is the hardest GameCube title I've ever had to record for the channel. The hardest of 400. I got to rank 28 half a year ago and kept the video files all along. It took me a week to get to that point. I spend two more full days last week to finally finish the game. I know how incredibly popular this game is and I know how many love it, but I guarantee you that not many people have actually played it till the end. Anyway, it's here, and I feel extremely accomplished lol. The other two SSX games will be played fairly soon as they are child's play compared to this title. Even the GameFAQ's mention that the later challenges can take many hours of repeats and are EXTREMELY difficult even for those who have mastered SSX 3 and SSX Tricky.
So in short.. SSX On Tour is just a random selection of challenges you can choose from. You start off with "Rookie" challenges and build yourself up to "Pro-Master" which are extremely difficult. By winning these challenges, you get points to help you climb up the scoreboard and gain better rankings and unlock harder challenges. It's completely up to you which challenges you decide to play and many challenges are actually repeated. I mainly did racing challenges but there's some trickstyle stages too and the final stages includes an absolutely gruesome trickstyle match which I killed and you can just go ahead and watch that one if you really want to see some trickstyling.
So with that being said, if you get further in the game you'll end up with a bunch of challenges that are all extremely difficult and you can't finish any of them (the pro-master part). This is where things get annoying and my strategy was to simply lose these hard matches to get new challenges which might be easier to complete. You still get points for losing a match, but it just feels really wrong. I haven't lost too many matches but I was forced to at certain points and made sure to keep them in the video. Even if you're pro-master level, you can still get rookie challenges too which are hilariously easy. I guess everybody is able to get to Legend status using this cheap tactic, but not everybody will be able to finish the Legend matches to actually complete the game. Funnily enough, I found the Legend Race match easier than some Pro-Master race matches... but the Legend Trickstyle match was H A R D.
Lastly, I do really want to applaud this game on the graphics, the controls and the gameplay. Everything works damn well compared to other racing games I've played... but gosh is it hard. You simply don't expect an EA Big Sports game to be THIS DIFFICULT.
I 100%ed this game back in the day. Let me tell you, I know how hard some of it was. Haha.

One of the best gamecube games during my childhood, I spent so much time playing as the Mario characters instead of the actual characters XD in all seriousness I loved this game even for messing around.

You can use the arrow buttons/D-pad to do flips and spins. Could be useful if you ever play it again :)

The most customization (even though you can't customize the premades anymore)
The most premade riders (which kinda makes the customization problem less of a big deal)
The most missions
And the funnest missions

I just put every race there as even the ones you fail will score you points and will also give you new races to try which might be easier to finish.

Sound had to be removed due to copyright and I have to admit I’m not great at trickstyle games but this game isn’t documented anywhere else nor do I believe it ever will, so I took the effort despite not being great at it. With that being said I do think my best performances can be found in the last races as they’re incredibly difficult

@@detricraft2583 Not sure if you're still looking for an answer to this, but SSX On Tour on PSP is actually a reskinned port of SSX 3. Therefore, if you look at videos of SSX 3, it will look a lot more like what you're playing.

I agree it’s not so good in the beginning but there’s no footage anywhere out there of the later stages because of how gruelingly difficult it gets. I suggest you just watch the final few levels if you want to see expert gameplay. That’s like 30 mins worth anyway
@@longplayarchive thanks for being so patient with me but I disagree. I think saying expert level is a little outrageous. We need an "all boasts" video, that would be epic.
Fair enough. I don’t think there’s anybody else in the world who’d dedicate this many hours to the game and upload it to TH-cam for no revenue anytime soon, so this shitty footage is all that’s available I’m afraid
