Popular title, or series, to many. People argue this to be the best in the series. Ty is nothing more than a collectathon platformer like many. The graphics are quite appealing and the controls play well (except for the double jump being a bit annoying). It's also a fairly easy and innocent collectathon, nevertheless recording 100% was very annoying and difficult and I want to give thanks to Doctormario4600's longplay of this game which I was able to mimic for the most part (The OG is a bit faster, because he knows his games incredibly well). There are three stages per area and each stage ends with a boss. Each level has a bunch of stuff to collect which I'm personally never a fan of. Most of the collecting items are tied to Thunder Eggs, which are the main item you require to get to unlock the boss stages or complete the game. Each level has 300 spheres and 5 cages, each which reward you with a thunder egg when you find all of them. There's also 10 golden cogs per level which can be collected to get new boomerangs in the main hub. The worst collectible are the picture frames. These made the recording a bitch. The picture frames are hidden in hard-to-find invisible boxes. They'll appear in the sky, underwater, behind trees or in tree leaves. There are many of them too. About 10-30 per level. They are not truly invisible, but they blend very well with the background. Fortunately, if you collect enough Golden Cogs you can get a boomerang that'll make a noise when one is nearby. It takes a couple of levels to acquire enough Golden Cogs though. I had the option to re-do the first four levels later on in the game when this boomerang was acquired, or just do it the hard way without the boomerang and save some time on the recording. I chose the second option. Anyway, apparently there's a special ending if you collect everything in the game so that's what I did. I even did the bonus level which has over 100 picture frames to collect. Literally nothing happens when you get all of them, so you gotta leave the level manually.
I forgot all about this till a Facebook ad popped up with the game, then I had a Deja vu flash back to being 5 years old turning my gamecube on after school plugging in my legend of Zelda controller in and playing this for hours.
i used to play these games back in the day with my grandma. she passed back in 2017 from cancer. my eyes instantly filled with tears when i started watching this. i sure miss that ole woman
Just another video game on my GameCube that did a damn good job of making me feel like I was in an actual other world. Memorable soundtrack, sound effects, atmosphere, gameplay. This channel is run by a legend!
Good lord, I can’t stop watching this. I’ve been falling asleep to this video the past couple weeks. This is just too good of a video game play through!
Reminds me of those mornings where i would wake up as early as possible to get as much gaming in as i could before having to go to school. Man how time flies 🥲
So it wasn't just me all along, the seahorse speaks a different language during the shark section lol. I love your longplays, the nostalgia is real! Thanks for these :3
Rainbow Cliffs combined with the music is imprinted in my mind, I loved this game, it was cozy, story driven and had a greater atmosphere ... Bush Rescue was more combat/action and focused more on variety in boomerangs, vehicles, characters etc.
I love how you're games. even if they're hard sometimes. Your authenticity is refreshing. Keep keeping it real. Great game. Your play throughout the game is absolutely engaging. It adds so much fun. The gameplay really good. Can't wait to see how you'll tackle the next level. Keep those gameplays coming! This brings back so many good memories Thank you for this video! just fun and had awesome moment with itThis is an awesome game, been playing awhile. I love the this. So much nostalgia. good one.
Oh hell yes you did a longplay if this masterpiece! Man this game comprised so much of my childhood it's ridiculous. Also I like how you went for the picture frames, so many people on TH-cam don't do that. One option some people prefer is to just wait until they get the Infrarang and then backtrack to each level, since it makes picture frames so much easier to spot - better method for first time players I think (so long as they don't mind the tedium) but our method is definitely more efficient for longplay purposes. Also I love how the bad the music looping is in the Gamecube version lol. I've always considered this the weakest version IMO, followed by PS2, then Xbox, then PC. Awesome job dude. Glad my expertise helped you out. :)
Yeah I plan on too but I hope they are a bit easier on the collectibles stuff.. I saw that in 2 it's best to grind for the best boomerang first before taking the game on so it's gonna require some figuring out. Linear games are the easiest to record for you guys. I heard 3 is gonna be really easy as it's mostly fighting
This and Kingdom Hearts I and II stayed on my Playstation 2. I was considered lucky by some because they didn't have a gaming system. Those really were the days: You had to be good friends with somebody who had everything you liked but didn't have if you wanted to play, watch, or listen to something.
I never knew how to do that energy power lunge...I had discovered Ty doing some sort of chi focus thing and thought it was the location (it was ontop of that huge tower island at the end of the level that taught you how to swim) I had always thought it had something to do with the Dream Dimension and the Bunyip sage...what button combo was it on gamecube?
I remembered seeing this on the back of my Harry Potter COS manual, and wondered what this game is, for years. Now finally seeing this for the first time, I must say this game isn't bad at all.
The first vide game I ever owned and played through all the way; I hadn't seen Star Wars yet so thought the Trench Run was ripped off from this lmao. I remember this game was epic (as a 10 yo), but honestly have more memories with the second one. Still own the same PS2, too. Gotta dig out the old memory card 😂 I always thought they'd make a TV show out of Ty but that never happened.. Eucalyptus they say.
I used to play this game a lot when I was a kid but I have one question if the main bad guy says that he wants to eradicate all mammals why are some of his henchmen mammals it doesn’t make sense to me .⁉️

44:55 Yeah, I want me a bite of that snack too! P.S.: Snow Worries was so hard to get through. It's bad enough he doesn't seem to know he can dive into water instead of going through the trouble of stepping in, then submerging, but add to that the fact that he keeps looking around entirely at random, as if he'll find something despite the infrarangs not making a sound was so aggravating.

thanks, that's exactly what i like lol

Is it a coincidence that Sly Cooper came out the same year and weeks before this game did, and there is a character in this game named Sly?
