It does have LEDs at the back, but older style. If it had full LED headlights, however, and a newer interior, you'd be fooled by it's design and never realize it's a 2007 car. Thanks, Pininfarina
Such a beautifully timeless car! The engine is to die for and the looks of the car… just wow! Everyone says the interior is out dated. I think it’s perfect. I truly don’t understand the modern trend of fitting screens the size of most laptop screens to the interior of cars… it’s pointless, things go wrong very often and it’s truly just distracting. The interior on this car is just as timeless as the exterior. To me it looks amazing and the fact that it’s an interior from 2007 makes it that much more impressive! You can quite simply get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on the stock screen with a relatively simple mod and it keeps the car looking OEM whilst bringing at least some of the newer stuff into the interior. Or get the 2017+ and you get the big screen in the middle and it’s plenty modern! 👍
One of the best looking and sounding cars I ever had the pleasure of driving (just an S though) and really cheap these days. Can't believe how good they sound from stock. Just a shame the facelift models never looked anywhere near as good as the first generation. A shame they weren't particularly fast for what they are either. Not much faster than a golf R to 60 with the S model but one of my favourites nonetheless
I don’t know. I’ve just gotten where I prefer cars that are really fun to drive as opposed to simply scary fast. The GTS is really plenty fast 95% of the time. And fun to drive? Check and check
Love it.. it hasn't the rollcage which means it is the lightest 4.7.. and the owner keeped the old audio unit while installing one which almost looks oem.. thats how its done.. well done.
People hate on Maserati for different reasons. One undeniable fact is Maserati makes some of the greatest sounding v8 engines. The gt and the old Quattroporte
your italian pronounce is very good Max 👍👏 surely this is one of the Italian best car ever made, I prefer the “classic” Maserati granturismo (version with 4 exhausts).. the design is simply amazing and the sound is not from this planet, thanks for the video!
You’re probably right about the top 3 best sounding V8 from stock, although if you’re making it a top 5 I’d also be throwing the Monaro VXR500 (Harrop supercharger and Wortec exhaust as standard) and Jag F-Type SVR into the mix. Long live the V8 😎
well, LFA os surly before maserati. the main problem of this maserati is the ridicules tiny power output, what makes it a show off car. interiour is probably out of a 1980 toyota.
I recall while on a trip to a convention in Las Vegas a Gran Turismo was on display in the Bellagio, and just loving the styling of the exterior and the sumptuous interior.
I saw one in person today in, out of all places, Greece. Oh my god does it sound so good and aggressive on startup and while driving. And it looks the part too...
The us only got 300 GranTurismo S models with the F1 trans in 2009 only. The story is the US gov't decided it was different enough from the auto trans models that they wanted more crash test data. Maserati didn't want to do that so they didn't import any more GTs with the F1 trans. And with some software tweaking I can tell you it is sublime, the shifts are amazing and it is FUN!!
Once I drove a Maserati GranTurismo I didn't care about the performance anymore. My GTR was way faster but the GranTurismo is just a joy to drive it slowly and so beautiful.
That car and it's sound is incredible, awesome, great...can't find the correct word :) I wish I could drive it before i die. Thanks Max, for sharing great videos :) By the way, congratulations you've exceed 3million subscribers :) You deserve much more subscribers :)
Had privilege of owning both a gran turismo s and Shelby GT350. Both sound so incredible and are a joy to drive even at slower speeds because of the sound and character of the engines. Probably give the slight nod to the Shelby just because of the true manual transmission- you get to enjoy the sound even more, playing it almost like an instrument even when you are just sort of stuck in traffic. Buy these cars before they are gone. This noise will be a thing of the past before you know it.
Actually, the later versions (from 2013 onwards) were offered with no rear seats as an option. Few of those are still on the road and are the ultimate GranTurismo. Also, a huge chunk of the weight savings came from reduced sound deadening. Last but not least, the MC Stradale has a fixed rate suspension so it feels the same -balanced- in RACE mode and in NORMAL mode.
I think the mc was kinda stupid. The whole point of the gran turismo was literally the name, be a good grand tourer. Instead you got a rough ride more noise no rear seats. And all that to get out dragged and out handled by a less expensive R8 4.2.
@@slowspecv69No! It was developed in response to customer demand of a version racier than the S which could be used on a track. The R8 4.2 was a different car (mid-engined) with low Grand Touring capabilities. The MC Stradale‘s carbon ceramic brakes made it track capable and with that alone would make it more suitable for track use than the R8 4.2 which came with steel brakes as standard.
@@pierrena3420 carbon brakes were an option on the r8 which would still be cheaper. @@slowspecv69 if you want to race you don‘t buy a street car but a race car not legal for road driving. On the road it is all about driving pleasure and the MC Stradale does offer much more of it than the R8 4.2. Btw, it is not true that the Stradale is 3x more expensive than the e92 M3. In fact, the gross price for the base e92 M3 in Germany for example started at around 78 T€ and could be configured to go beyond 100 T€. The MC Stradale started at around 148 T€ and could be configured to reach 180 T€. The MC Stradale was also faster (acceleration, elasticity and top speed-wise) than the e92 M3 and the Audi R8 4.2. Because of that alone you would be able to consistently beat the e92 M3 and standard Audi R8 4.2 on a 20+ minutes stint. It also has a bullet proof powertrain.

Indeed the 156 has exceptional handling for what basically is a midrange family car, mainly due to the front double wishbone suspension. But still, the Maserati is very different and built more like a sports car. So you might be curious about the difference in steering feel, but meanwhile the whole car feels different.
