Congratulations! Great little think. Did you find a way to make the focus check zoom back out when you half press the shutter? Right now it is unusable for manual focusing if you have to reset the zoom with abother button everytime….

Nope. It seems like they have set it up for a press on the joystick to punch in and out of focus check.
That needs to be fixed and it should be an easy one via firmware upgrade. We just need to bug Fujifilm to make it so.

@@photographybypetercharles9939 Done. However, I just realised that focus peeking does not activate on thirdparty lenses without electronic connectors. It does on my X-T5 and X-H2s. Have you tested this?

Whilst the xm5 could well be a nice little camera, the overall issue with fuji cameras at the moment for me is the xt50. The xt line used to be the hobbyists go to body, priced around £900 cf the eqivalent x body at around £1,300. But the xt50 blows this equilibrium of old out of the water. It's way way too expensive c £1300, only about £300 less than the x-t5. (So if youre forking out that much money you might as well get the xt5). It also has ths 40mp sensor which is definitely a mixed blessing for your hobbyist when you realise you'll need a new pc to store the massive files and your old / more modest fuji lenses cant resolve it very well. So your hobbyist now has to buy something like the xm5 for the same price as you used to get the xt body. And as far as I can tell the xm5 is a significant step down to the xt20 or 30. I should add i love your channel and recently got a voigt 27 which I love.

Actually the X-M5 specs out very well. It's an X-S20 minus IBIS and the bigger battery. It's a much better performing video camera than either the X-T20 or 30. It's a lot of camera in a small body.
The X-T10 etc. has always been the little brother to the X-T1, upwards through the models. No surprise there. The X-T50 is getting expensive though, however when the X-T6 arrives, I'm sure that the price gap will grow.
BTW, the issue of old lenses and the 40mp sensor is overblown. It's only a few lenses like the 18mm f2 whose resolving power is exceeded by the 40mp sensor. It doesn't mean that the images will suffer vs. an 18mm on an older camera. It's simply that the resolving power of the older lenses are less than the resolving power of the 40mp sensor, so you don't get the full benefit from it.
