These videos are among the most useful where you show how the camera is set up and the reason for your button assignment. allowed me to reconsider my own setup. turns out i can still improve my setup taking one or two ideas from you. Much appreciated Destin!
Glad it helped! I just rewatched this and definitely felt like I could have been more clear on some things, so I’ll be trying to do even better in the future. If you have any other specific requests for topics to cover with this camera let me know!
I have found one trick with the front dial which works well for me. I was bumping the dial accidentaly and changing my f stop unintentionally. I programmed as 2nd fuction of the dial film simulation which works only when the film dial is set to "C", otherwise it does nothing when you turn the dial. So I'm setting my f stop and pressing the dial to lock it as it switches to film, to reset my f stop I press the dial, change to the desired value and then press to lock it.
I haven’t experienced any of those issues at all. One one occasion in the first day or two of having the camera I turned it on and was immediately greeted with a “turn camera off and back on again” message. I did as it said and all was fine - I’ve never seen that issue again. Other than that single issue, it’s been totally fine, which is refreshing. The last camera I pre-ordered and received at launch was my X-T3 and it had a bunch of glitches until the first firmware update came out.
I considered buying an X-M5 but I had to cancel because 200 mbps is too low for 6K, so this doesn't work as a B-camera. It's frustrating because I have to move to the bigger body X-S20, but the X-S20 feels cheap and it's too big so it defeats the point of having a small B camera, so I might as well just get an X-T5 instead.
I definitely can’t speak to that, since I don’t shoot video at that high of a level - I don’t need to go beyond 4k for anything, so this camera is perfect for me. Sorry to hear it isn’t a good fit for you.
@@adventureaheadphoto 6K just allows me to pack half as many lenses for travel, since I can punch in 1.5X without quality loss. Every lens becomes two lenses.
Arrête de mentir, j'ai le x-s20, il est pas grand du tout et alors pas du tout. Et l'appeler CHEAP c'est vraiment abusé sur les préjugés. C'est la meilleure caméra que j'ai jamais utilisé
@ all Fuji cameras are “pretty dang small.” I came over from a Nikon D810 and my X-T3 felt like a toy. It’s all relative. I could happily carry an X-T5 as my EDC camera but I have GAS and love the form factor of the X-M5.
You can hold down the DISP/BACK button to customize the function buttons as well
I actually just discovered this accidentally like an hour ago. I’ve been shooting Fuji since 2018 and had no idea 😂
@@adventureaheadphoto I'm shooting Fuji since 2021 and learned about it around month ago from YT
Great video!
Hey, thanks!
Interested in a collab? Would love to include your square lens hoods in my upcoming reviews of the 18mm 1.4 and 33mm 1.4!
@@adventureaheadphoto sure! I have sent the email to you!
Amazing and informative video! Keep up the great content Destin :)
You really helped me dial in my X-M5 settings perfectly!
Thanks! Glad you found it helpful!

That’s actually a really smart idea! Thanks for sharing!
THANK YOU! Just recently recieved my X-M5 and my first venture into Fuji after shooting only Canon’s in the past.
Welcome to the Fuji world!
Returning to this video when Vistek finally calls me in for my order. Amazing video!
Hopefully you get it soon!
Thanks for sharing your settings.... big help here.
Glad to help!
Do you experience reliability issues like write error, SD card error, sudden video stops recording or anything like that?

Il n'y a nul part où l'acheter et c'est très frustrant d'attendre jusqu'en Avril 😢
Hope you find one soon!
@adventureaheadphoto si seulement le souhait pouvait se réaliser, ça serait le plus beau cadeau de Noël de tous les temps 😂

The X-S20 is pretty dang small still
