Homemade Indian Curry Pies from Bernie's Grocery Store, Heaton Moor

These delicious Indian curry pies come from Steve Patel, a man who was a scaffolder for 18 years but made his move into the culinary world a couple of years back with Vaso Kitchen.
Learning all he knows about the cuisine from his dad, Steve has always given his curries and dishes a bit of a Northern twist, culminating in the decision to wrap them up in pastry as the region’s favourite snack.
Available in a choice of three flavours; Lamb Keema, Desi Chicken and Aloo Matar (Potato & Peas), the pies are all priced at a very reasonable £4.50 each.

I have been making curry pies for about ten years in Malaysia for my friends. I use a lamb rogan josh recipe but also use the same recipe for chicken and beef pies. I also make a fish pie using spicy tinned tuna and a vegetarian one.

I've been to Bernie's it's awesome, I'd go as far as to say they're the best pies in Stockport.
