    I just got a 2003 GMC Sonoma from a neighbor's estate, I used to joke with him about inheriting it one day. He croaked while mowing his lawn and his kids can't manage a manual shift so I got a good deal. Good video

    got a 2nd gen 98 s10 with 355k miles, runs like a dream, only had to replace a few small parts, 100% factory engine and transmission with the exception of brakes, only a 2.2l 4banger but its so much fun for the cost.

    I have a 99 2.2 S10 as well, and it is in fact horribly slow. I also happen to be in PA too and the biggest issue I have is when there's snow. If there's snow forget going anywhere, I have a lot of hills and it won't move lol.

    Just moved to baja California need a car that can handle better than my Acura TL type S down there, I think this review is perfect because I'm buying used on Craigslist and they all have around 150k- 200k for my price range since I'm being cheap, $2k budget.

      danny 2y2 shit man here in Michigan for 2k u can get a s10/blazer with less the 100k on it lol for 180k it’s about 500 bucks lol

  • @thubb6
    @thubb6 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    It’s actually not horribly slow. My wife has a 2007 Cobalt which has the 2.2 or similar I think. I’m really close to getting an S10 as a beater project

    • @WestHillsRides
      @WestHillsRides  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      thubb6 the 2.2 in the cobalt is an ecotec aluminum block DOHC where as the 2.2 in the S10 is an iron block push rod engine with about 40 less hp and the truck is 1,000 lbs heavier than the Cobalt. Either way it's a great reliable beater especially if it's a stick.

    • @thubb6
      @thubb6 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      West Hills Rides Man.. had no idea. That gives me an idea about how nimble the 4 cyl S10 might be. Huge difference in weight and horsepower. Not even looking for anything fast.. just something to lower, keep clean and run around town with

    • @WestHillsRides
      @WestHillsRides  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thubb6 it would be perfect for that, just don't beat on it and it will do exactly that for years to come, plus parts are plentiful.

    • @WestHillsRides
      @WestHillsRides  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check it out good, take it for a ride, as long as u don't beat it and rev the pants on it, they are good solid little trucks. This one has 244,000 miles on it now and just put a clutch in it over the weekend.
