I think her tragically short life is the reason why masses of people don’t know a lot about her. Can you just imagine how gigantic she could have been!❤
Janis died over 50 year ago. Young. The fact that her music is still played at all now is a testament to her amazing musical ability. You guys are doing a fantastic service to humanity by keeping her music alive! Liked and subscribed!
Imagine what she would have become if she had lived. It's sad thinking about all of the music that she had inside her that we never got to hear. That goes for all of the members of the 27 Club.
Hey fellas. Thanks for reacting to this one. Janis was such a unique talent. No one sounded like her or had her level of pure feeling. Someone once said to me. "What's the difference between a good singer and a great singer?". "A good singer feels what they're singing. A great singer makes YOU feel it". Peace.
Janis and Jimi are the GOAT's !!! I think Maybe your Younger followers do not know Janis, But to your Older followers like Me, She is the Greatest !!! Keep Doing What You are Doing ! We Love Ya
We dig it This whole album is fire This band is crazy good what a swan song. The last thing she recorded was Mercedes-Benz. People don’t understand what it means now nobody knows what dialing for dollars is what it meant to have a color TV when you’re a poor girl grow up in Port Arthur, Texas. . But some of us do .
Omg! I absolutely love this song and never noticed her saying THAT word. I was paying attention more to her saying goddamn and never heard the word before that line! And they played that song on the radio and never bleeped the word out.
A few years later SLADE did a brilliant cover of this. Their singer Noddy Holder has a similar style. He was the first guy asked to replace Bon Scott in AC/DC he said No and they got Brian Johnson.
I remember my dad bought the Pearl LP when it came out which was out of character for him as he was big into classical. I was instantly in love I think he was too. He's in his 80s now and still has the vinyl
Speculation only, but Janis was such an original - even in her own time - that it was a shock to people's systems. No one before or after had the same knack for pouring pure raw passion and angst into their music. She gained a lot of fans and accolades at the time, but they came with a sense of bewilderment by many of the "establishment." Seek out a few interviews with her (the Dick Cavett interview with Janis discussing her high school reunion springs to mind), and you will see how consistently unique she was. A lot of people loved her for her passion, but she was not easily categorized. I think today, when there is so much almost unconscious longing for the comfort of conformity and stability, and so many people are going through an identity crisis, her music and passion may simply be too much. People are seeking stability and solid ground. Janis Joplin offers neither. BTW, I love your reactions. You guys are great together.
The real best songs in the world are not the ones that have the most views. Most people don’t even know those bands. Not only with with this kind of music , the same happens with the best electronic music….People have no clue about the amazing tracks that exist

The guitarist was a Canadian named John Till who was the leader of her last backing group called The Full Tillit Boogie Band who were all studio musicians.
Thank you for this, great reaction! Janis was one of kind, never to be replicated. Heartbreaking to lose both her & Jimi so young. Also Jim Morrison. Just icons who shone bright & were gone, leaving us with great music forever.
Fun Fact: the guitarist with Janis' backing band The Full Tillt Boogie Band was a Canadian named John Till. The band's name includes the double L's in his last name. I never noticed that until many, many years later. LOL.
Janis has been gone for nearly 55 YEARS. Most of her original fans have passed away, sadly. She was the biggest female rock star of her time, and her music dominated the charts. She doesn't get the attention that bands like the Beatles, the Stones, or the Bee Gees get today. I really think it is your younger subscriber base that is just not that familiar with her and work. But you guys are doing the right thing by getting her out there. She deserves it❤
I suggest you listen to a live version of this from 1970 on Dick Cavett show. It is really so so great, don't miss it. You'll find it on the tube under MOVE OVER by Janis Joplin. Thank you guys you are definitely belonging to the top listerners out there.
Fellas, I absolutely love Janis, she was so incredibly talented. My thoughts on her music is that there were few mainstream hits and mainstream listeners do not have a clue about her catalog of music. Reading the comments from the listeners who watch your Janis reactions “get” her talent. Not just a rocker but a bluesy artist who can provoke emotions in the listener. Keep reacting to Janis, A woman left lonely is great next reaction
Opening song on Pearl. Cooking is perfect description, exact word I thought when she started. My music nerd friends would come over in the dorm when I'd play this album down the hall. She was special.
Great song from her final album, her control over her instrument, harnessing it along with her passion to the service of the song. Fantastic band too. Jimi loved phrasing vocals with his guitar too. Works beautifully here. I too am disappointed to hear Janis falls behind her contemporaries, other artists, wotevr. There's no one else that sounds just like her. 😊❤
Great comparison of Janis with Jimi ❤ We had the BEST of BEST in such a short time...but their influence is FOREVER! Love you Pearl ❤ (Her alter ego) Love your appreciation for Janis!!
This is her song, she wrote the lyrics. A grand opener for the Pearl album. The whole album is amazing. Well all of her songs and albums 😂❤❤❤. The Queen
We Boomers adore Janis. After that , the younger ones don’t know her so well as she died in ‘70. Did you guys react to her JOYOUS and funky duet with Tom Jones from the 60’s? “ Raise Your Hand”
Great reaction, guys!! I think people can have a hard time with Janice because she is a particular flavor. She is raw and intense, and it's not always "pretty" or easy to listen to - and she isn't as "glamorous" as other female artists. I've always appreciated Janice, but it took a while for me to actually enjoy listening to her. And even now, I can't listen to a lot of her - I find it emotionally overwhelming sometimes, cause I'm a big, sensitive baby. 😆But I, for one, love it when you cover her on the channel - you continue to improve my appreciation of her - thank you!! 😊
Janis is like no other artist she was pure soul no doubt
I think her tragically short life is the reason why masses of people don’t know a lot about her. Can you just imagine how gigantic she could have been!❤
Oh man, Janice. When she first came on tv, it was like a hurricane! My Dad yelled at us to turn the channel, but Mom said NO! :) 1967
I don't know about anyone else, but I will be here for ANY Janis.
Ditto!!
Likewise❤
Same here! 💜🎤🎶✌️
Me too 😊

I’m an old boomer and I love Janis. No one puts more heart and soul into their performance.
Hey fellas. Thanks for reacting to this one. Janis was such a unique talent. No one sounded like her or had her level of pure feeling. Someone once said to me. "What's the difference between a good singer and a great singer?". "A good singer feels what they're singing. A great singer makes YOU feel it". Peace.
The guitar blitz of Big Brother was always staggering. She brought back Sam Andrews for her first post Big Brother album, ...Kosmic Blues.
FIRE! Her career was so short that a lot of people under 30 to 40 just don't know what they are missing. That's my opinion.
But they sure know who Taylor Swift is. No offense to Taylor, but...
One of the pearls from 'Pearl'!
That’s because those of us that tune in to watch your Janis reactions have the best tastes…
I read Janis & Jimi shared a stage a few times in after hours clubs in NYC & elsewhere. Film would be worth jillions
@@andychisarick6879
Absolutely!! $$$$
I have been in love with Janis since Cheap Thrills, and I still do. Watch her interviews with Dick Cavet to see her other side.
This is my favorite Janis Joplin song 😂
I'm from Janis's hometown, Port Arthur, TX. Thank you for introducing her to new listeners.
She’s my all time favorite female singer EVER! RIP Dear Janis
Hey when it comes to Janis….I will always be here for that.
Janis and Jimi are the GOAT's !!! I think Maybe your Younger followers do not know Janis, But to your Older followers like Me, She is the Greatest !!! Keep Doing What You are Doing ! We Love Ya
This GenXer agrees!
Me too!❤
Would have been awesome if Janis and Jimi could have performed together
@@ednicholson7839I've always felt the same
We dig it
This whole album is fire
This band is crazy good
what a swan song.
The last thing she recorded was Mercedes-Benz. People don’t understand what it means now nobody knows what dialing for dollars is what it meant to have a color TV when you’re a poor girl grow up in Port Arthur, Texas. .
But some of us do .
04:08 I'm pretty sure Janis is the only singer in the history of rock and roll to use the word, furthermore, in a song. 😊
Omg! I absolutely love this song and never noticed her saying THAT word. I was paying attention more to her saying goddamn and never heard the word before that line! And they played that song on the radio and never bleeped the word out.
😂 Well spotted.
Janis is as good as any other. She has her own unique sound . I’m definitely here for it.
A few years later SLADE did a brilliant cover of this. Their singer Noddy Holder has a similar style. He was the first guy asked to replace Bon Scott in AC/DC he said No and they got Brian Johnson.
Janis was one of kind Laa and Chee! Thank you!
Thank you Kenny!!
I remember my dad bought the Pearl LP when it came out which was out of character for him as he was big into classical. I was instantly in love I think he was too. He's in his 80s now and still has the vinyl
My older sister had it and it was in the regular rotation between the two of us. That album cover brings back memories
No singers like Robert Plant without Janis, Aretha Franklin and Howling Wolf. ❤
Love Janis. All that you two like her even more.

I don’t know why your numbers aren’t higher on her. She’s an icon. ❤❤❤

She was dismissed in life as well despite her raw talent she wasn’t one of the “pretty” girls. The music business is shallow especially for women.
The guitarist was a Canadian named John Till who was the leader of her last backing group called The Full Tillit Boogie Band who were all studio musicians.
She is one of the greatest!
Some people just don't have an ear for Janis' voice.
Thank you for this, great reaction! Janis was one of kind, never to be replicated. Heartbreaking to lose both her & Jimi so young. Also Jim Morrison. Just icons who shone bright & were gone, leaving us with great music forever.
You’re absolutely right, she needs more acknowledgement and love. Thanks for playing her music, and hopefully opening some new minds.
Janice channeled the music through her soul. You feel what she felt. Ahead of her time and gone too soon
I never get tired of listening to Janis.
Fun Fact: the guitarist with Janis' backing band The Full Tillt Boogie Band was a Canadian named John Till. The band's name includes the double L's in his last name. I never noticed that until many, many years later. LOL.
I never knew that either. And I'm an old fan. Thanks for that...
One of her best joints Bros. 😎
Happy Friday everyone! Great tune to kick off the weekend!
Janis Joplin is HAND's DOWN THE GREATEST BLUES ROCK SINGER EVER
YASSS My favorite Janis Joplin song of all time will never ever get tired of this song EVER!

One of Janis's best!
You guys have to hear Turtle Blues some gritty Janis blues. One of my favourites for years.

Oh! I forgot about this one. One of my old favs
Opening song on Pearl. Cooking is perfect description, exact word I thought when she started. My music nerd friends would come over in the dorm when I'd play this album down the hall. She was special.
My fav janis joplin song!!
This was on constant rotation in the Juke Boxes when I was stationed in Japan 70-73.
She did not have a ton of recordings and younger people don't know her. She is one of a kind.
I think she was one of the greats. We used to dance to her when we got home from high school, But she may be an acquired taste.
John Till very underrated guitar player !!!! Like no praise ever !!
Pearl never grows old.
Love Janis!
I LOVE YOU JANIS !
The VOICE 😮
Great song from her final album, her control over her instrument, harnessing it along with her passion to the service of the song.

Great song by Janis..Should check out an amazing version of this song by SLADE !
I'm a sub and I will always click on a Janis reaction! She's amazing and one of a kind
Janice died in 1970 so she's not really known by the youngins. Legend!
❤ Janis
Great comparison of Janis with Jimi ❤
We had the BEST of BEST in such a short time...but their influence is FOREVER!
Love you Pearl ❤
(Her alter ego)
Love your appreciation for Janis!!
All my circle of friends love Janis. My Mount Rushmore of female artists: Janis, Etta James, Joan Jett , and Tracy Chapman.
This is her song, she wrote the lyrics. A grand opener for the Pearl album. The whole album is amazing. Well all of her songs and albums 😂❤❤❤. The Queen
I love janis joplin!!!
Yeas she kills this track
The one and ONLY!
Mindless screaming some have said. In the saying they prove its they who are lacking.
Screw the masses, she's a hidden gem and I would pick her as the best woman singer ever. So short a sample but gold Jerry gold
This is one of her magic cuts. Really great. Thanks for running it.
I don’t know why more people don’t watch Janis , she’s amazing!!
My parents had this album on 8-track and I listened to it all the time 😊
Absolutely ❤️ Janis! I'm very surprised also that you're not seeing high responses for her, cannot explain.
Oh we dig it! Keep on reacting to Janis!!!!
Kozmic Blues next hopefully! Love all the Janis reactions guys✌️
But they should di the live version of Kozmic Blues from Janis In Concert album....much better than the version on the studio album.
Jimi and Janice jammed all the time with Albert King
More Janus, please. I'll always be here for Janus. Who wouldn't?
The algorithm is whack. :>)
Thanks guys.
This was her last album and was released after she passed...
We Boomers adore Janis. After that , the younger ones don’t know her so well as she died in ‘70.
Did you guys react to her JOYOUS and funky duet with Tom Jones from the 60’s? “ Raise Your Hand”
Amazing, every time I hear this. Truly an amazing artist.

First Janis I ever heard! I think I was 9 or ten.
One of my fave Joplin songs! dbl ♥
I’m not sure if you guys reacted to her song Cry Baby.
Etta James - I’d Rather Go Blind live at Montreux. (1975)…an amazing performance.
