As a viewer, I like the anticipation of rooting for my favorite games to be on lists like these, but once I get to the end I want to make sure people know their favorites weren't forgotten. If I put honorable mentions at the beginning the video would lose the anticipation. I would be declaring that such games didn't make it.

Thankyou for putting Diddky Kong Racing so high! It's such an underrated gem - that game managed to create a truly unique feel, a true delight to play - the music, worlds and characters were incredible!! And Majoras mask is truly a work of art. I always feel a daunting feeling just before I switch the cartridge on. It really feels like you have an undertaking in a different world.
No WaveRace 64? That game was revolutionary for racers at the time, and had great graphics, soundtrack and multiplayer. Easily better then that Beetle game.
I really enjoyed your passion towards Zelda:OoT, and you are absolutely right it really is an amazing game and will always hold a special place in my heart for so many reasons. Metroid Prime is another game that gives me that same feeling.

I played The Ocarina of Time for the first time on Christmas morning 1998, I was 13 at the time, and it was the best day of my life so far, cannot remember ever being as happy as that day!

Yes there are a TON of ways that you can play with better graphics if you have even a low end PC or a 3DS. Check out Nerrel's texture pack for Majora's mask here on TH-cam. Also, even if you have a low end PC, you can emulate the 3DS versions. I played them on my pc, connected to my 42 inch TV, and I believe that this is the definitive way of experiencing these games.

Just the sound of super mario 64's "underwater theme" at the beginning of the video brought back so many childhood memorable moments to the point where I realized not only is it one my favorite games of all time, but probably the best N64 game ever.
Ya know I never understood why Ocarina Of Time is loved and Majoras Mask is so hated. I mean now Majoras Mask is now been voted one of the best but that doesn't change anything. It has the same graphics, same gameplay, but a couple of minor differences. Different Story, New Gameplay elements. That's exactly what Majoras Mask had and in my opinion it had a much better story than Ocarnia. And once again personally I find Banjo Kazooie to be slightly better than Mario 64. Yes it was a copy and came out a few years after Mario 64 did but I feel it had more creative gameplay, more interesting characters and enemies and better level design. Say what you want but that's all my opinion. By the way just got my Nintendo 64 yesterday but I played ocarina of time on Wii when I was bout... 6? Ya six.

Sadly, I've only seen one list so far where Banjo-Tooie made it on. It's not only that people prefer Kazooie, but Tooie is mostly completely ignored as if it wouldn't even exist. It's disturbing.
Tooie could have been great, but they made one of the least enjoyable parts of the game part of the main focus in all the backtracking. Also, it doesn't have quite the same charm that Kazooie did.
Both versions; Ocarina of Time is the game I will always go back to countless times. I just feel at home playing this game, not sure how to explain it.

I'm glad you put Diddy Kong Racing above Mario Kart 64. So few people put it in their list but I think its because everyone had a copy of Mario Kart 64 but DKR was not well known. DKR has everything Mario kart has and more, I love both games, but DKR wins for me.
As far as I remember, the traditional pronunciation is likely to be Oh not Aw, but changed when it was brought overseas. Many words have two acceptable pronunciations, and I think this is a word that should likely fall under that list of words.

The best top 20 I have seen by far! Brings back memories of playing all these master crafted video games. The only one I did not play was beetle adventure racing which I would replace by super smash bros. I can always go back and replay all of these titles again and again. Just don't seem to make games like this anymore... Once again, awesome job with this top 20. Will be watching all the others you've made

I grew up with a SuperNintendo which I still have, and your videos kind of inspired me to get some more games for it. Later on I also had a PSX, but never really an N64. However after this Top20 video, I started playing some of the games which you mentioned here aswell and I totally fell in love with the N64. Thank you for these great videos

Games I wanted to see on the honorable mentions list: 1 . Wave Race 64 - Both the music and wave mechanics was what made me buy this game and play it for hours upon hours at end. 2. Pokemon Stadium (1 or 2) - This game gave kids what they wanted. 3D Pokémon battles, the chance to use your pokémon from your gameboy cartridge in the N64 game (Transfer Pack required). 3. Pilotwings 64 - There's just something about hang gliding in this game that fills me with ease. Thank you for your top 20.
I love that Beetle Adventure Racing made this list! I didn't have many games growing up, but I had this one and I absolutely loved it! I totally forgot about it until watching this video.
These games are great in my experience. I didn't realize that some of them were lesser known because I bought them when they came out and they were very well known to me and my friends.
Excitebike 64 was my Beetle Racing. I knew it wasn't popular or revolutionary, but I would spend literally hours in the infinite desert map just goofing around and doing tricks.
I didn't put it on here separately because i think the first Banjo is representative of the series and I think the first one is better. Tooie had serious frame rate issues that at times made it difficult to enjoy.
Great conclusion to a great list :) some of these games I never heard of, many I've never played, personally can't get into the Zelda 64 games, but I wasn't a huge fan as a kid then completely missed the N64 till I was 30, but I have to give them credit for what they've done for the series and gaming in general... Thanks man!

Great list! I just played through OOT 3D (not my first playthrough). Playing through the original Majora's Mask on OG hardware now, and it is my first playthrough. I can see why it's controversial. It doesn't have near the handholding OOT did, and it's not always easy to figure out what to do. Now, add the pressure of a time limit. The jury is still out for me on this one, but the more I play it, the more I like it. Thankful for online guides!
I really enjoyed watching your list , you seem to have had a great time with the N64 . I have not heard about That beetle racing game for years .. my friend and I hired it out on its release .. I think we liked it. Topgear rally was my fav racing game on the N64

3DS has some nice updated graphics for those two games. Not a graphical overhaul but still a step up.

Great conclusion to a great list :) some of these games I never heard of, many I've never played, personally can't get into the Zelda 64 games, but I wasn't a huge fan as a kid then completely missed the N64 till I was 30, but I have to give them credit for what they've done for the series and gaming in general... Thanks man!

If anyone has never played or had the pleasure of owning the great N64, he or she need only watch this two-part video and they would never need to get another console or game ever...well, maybe not ever. But still, what a perfect list! Diddy Kong is probably my #2!
Sad to say I've never, yes never, played Major's Mask. I should probably get on that!
Great list! I just played through OOT 3D (not my first playthrough). Playing through the original Majora's Mask on OG hardware now, and it is my first playthrough. I can see why it's controversial. It doesn't have near the handholding OOT did, and it's not always easy to figure out what to do. Now, add the pressure of a time limit. The jury is still out for me on this one, but the more I play it, the more I like it. Thankful for online guides!

I have not heard about That beetle racing game for years .. my friend and I hired it out on its release .. I think we liked it. Topgear rally was my fav racing game on the N64
