    The Ranchero, (because you always wanted one), the Dodge 4door air force truck, the Corvair (65-67?), and the El Camino. Also the square body wrecker, because everyone needs a wrecker.

W😳W, what a find. 😊😊😊 I wish I could’a been there to crawl around with you‼️ I know what I would like to see you bring back is the El Camino. That one looks doable. Give ol Duff dog a good belly rub for me. 👍

    I had a 68 ex Air Force Dodge crew cab back in the 90s 318 4spd NP 465 with the gear drive divorced transfer case Dana 60s front & rear with a locker in the rear with 4:10 gears . I looked into how many were made & it was less than 1,900 of them . Was a great truck that was my daily driver for 6 years until I sold it . It had the sweptline box but was a short box & the rear bumper it had from the military I am assuming put on was held on with 16 bolts to the frame & body . Had the factory hydraulic clutch as well . So this one you found is probably pretty rare & being a military it's over built wise in the suspension area & probably has drive shafts & u joints that are larger than 1 ton trucks came with . Mine even had grease zirks for the leaf spring bushings instead of rubber like the civilian model trucks had & it had the enclosed knuckle front end which I liked because the fork style u joint it used was always bathed in gear oil so as long as the seals were good & it was full of gear oil they wouldn't fail like the open style used later that were always subjected to rain snow & salt that would destroy the needle bearings in those front axle shafts . It had drains on both knuckles plus drains on both center sections of the differentials so everything could be drained out when crossing deep water . One of the best trucks I ever owned & wish I still had it because they are going for big money now . Most got sold & used for the fire dept & the DNRs plus many were sold over seas to the Arabs used for their military as well . I say bring the crew cab home or all of them lol .

    Mortske, that place is a parts gold mine! All those old axles that some restorers would gladly abandon their families to get their hands on. What a great place! I think you should go after the Air Force truck. It looked pretty solid from what you showed of it. If worse come to worse, you could always remodel the inside and rent it out as a studio with a deck. Hey to Duff.

    Great video. I used to love wandering around the old yard close to here. Most have been cleaned out and leveled for new homes and developement sadly. So cool to see so much from the 40s and 50s still holding it together out in the weather there. A shame so many windows had been knocked in though - that glass will be hard to find if at all, meaning quite a few won't ever drive again.
    My first pick would be the ex-Airforce blue double-cab Dodge-em. Chassis might be a bit religious if she's sat on the ground, but she didn't look too bad in the body. Can't recall the engine, but if she's a 318 or bigger, she'll run again. Find something to sit on for the pilot and chuck it in though eh. Standing up to drive is a bit hard on the clutch and you'd need some pretty big pedal extensions welded on to drive from the only seat that's in there.
    A couple of the early 50s Chev trucks (the long-body comes to mind) and 52-54 Chev sedans looked possible, but they are usually sixes. A 54 Bel Air would be my pick and especially if three on the tree - the boxes make such a lovely sound. Glad you found at least one FH V8. Didn't see a 48 Bonus build out there, did you? Saw plenty of F-series and Jailbars, but I didnt see a Bonus myself. Oh - and one of the wagons you looked at was a 57 / 58 Plymouth (at about 19 mins) either a Savoy, Belvedere or a Fury that the Ford tailgate was leaning against. Recognised the grille and the gauge cluster. Gotta be pretty rare whatever she is. Looked pretty beaten up though....sadly.....although there was a lot of solid glass in it

    • @MortskeRepair
      @MortskeRepair  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The dodge had a leaning tower of power engine!! Not sure if there was an 48s but I think there was a couple trucks.

    I love the old Ford Creamery van. I think I’ve wanted one since I was a little kid, when we’d get home delivered milk!

    Definitely bring home that quad cab step side dodge. Look forward to see videos of projects from that junkyard, so many good projects there. If you always wanted a ford rancho, then that's just meant to be.

    I love the Fairlane Wagon. I've got a 67 in the same color and would love the front clip! Thanks for the tour. It's kind of like going to a steak house, and not being able to eat.

    Nice thing about all those Jeeps is that the flat fender gives you a perfect place to rest your samich while you are working on them

      Ya those are the type where you sit in front of the front wheel, so kinda tricky to get used to going around corners in town with-out running up on the curb!
      But of course that was the catch that made them so dangerous. Since you sit in front of the front wheel/axle, there's nothing to protect you in a crash situation!

    Lots of cool stuff out there. I like the 4 door Air Force Dodge pickup.
