Runas broke my damn heart when I did it the first, second and third time (yet to do it the fourth). So well-established withing maybe an hour of questing, and it doesn't feel like a bullshit death or killing off a character for no reason. I hope we somehow interact with him in the future, maybe as a ghost or while timetravelling.
Runas is voiced by such a great voice actor, the same actor voices Havi. His most notable voice work was Winnie the Pooh. Oh, he also was the voice of Lorewalker Cho.
Gizmo Mogwi, Jim Cummings. :p his filmography is bonkers. He was also Ray in Princess and the Frog, he was Darkwing Duck, and countless other super famous roles. Amazing guy.
@@csmith2005 Yep, I looked him up after a line by Runas. The way he said "not me though, my will is iron" the inflection in his voice and other aspects sounded so familiar. So I checked his filmography and realized I had heard him voice characters from the majority of my childhood. Really blew me away.
Because this is primarily Horde dominated I'll give some recommendations for the Boys in Blue. Westfall: Coming off the heels of a great victory against the Lich King has left Stormwind in figurative ruins, the common and lower class people of Stormwind have become stricken with great poverty and homelessness ravishes the land. The zone may over exaggerate typical homeless stereotypes a lot but it gets a good general feel. The zone contains the backstory for the Deadmines instance as well as characterization for Rogue Order Hall follower Vanessa VanCleef and SI7 operative Amber Kearnen who you'll come across again during Alliance questing in Pandaria and get a feeling of why people really get ticked off with how they handled her in Legion. The progression of the zone is told using an extended CSI Miami reference, if you like CSI Miami or cheesy cop shows it's definitely a must see. Duskwood: It's dark, it's creepy and it's still a good zone, purists might write it off for taking away the initiation rites of dying to Stitches and neutering the Stalvan chain but the zone is still really good. You take the role of a new night watch guardsmen for Duskwood who after the Northrend fiasco is severely light on guards to protect them from the undead horrors of the zone. As you help the nightwatch secure the town to let the people continue living in peace you'll come across a Worgen storyline of a small group attempting to help the Feral Worgen roaming the zone to have a chance at a normal life, it also continues the storyline of a minor character from the Gilneas starting zone. It's still a really good zone after the changes and if you like the Jekyll and Hyde aspect of Worgen lore you'll like the additions they made to the zone. Darkshore: The Night Elves are very suddenly coming to grips with their curse of mortality since Warcraft 3 destroyed the World tree to defeat Archimonde. Sure this is a very standard zone and doesn't have excess death compared to other zones but it's new ground for the Night Elves, the overly detailed descriptions of your character coming across the dozens of dead Night Elves at the start of the zone as you scramble for survivors is definitely a very powerful hook to the zone and I'd recommend reading each one you can find. You also come across Malfurion, this is pre FireLands so he's not the whiny bitch that you know in Val'Sharah yet. The zone for me is powerful enough since you're coming across mass death which again is nothing new for a WoW zone but it's happening to the Night Elves which is a new experience, you get to see these long standing immortal guardians suddenly come to grips with loss and death, seeing their totem pole of pride crack underneath them definitely makes the zone worth looking at. Ashenvale: It's Night Elf vs Horde, a very standard faction war zone but Nightsong is the background music used for a majority of the zone making it definitely a good place to level because Nightsong is a really good song, honestly that's it, it doesn't do anything amazingly amazing aside from it's background song. Redridge Mountains: Do you like Rambo and similar cheesy 80's action movies? Level in this zone.
I'll agree 100% with Duskwood and Redridge. I was actually going to put duskwood in the video but I think I might have accidentally deleted it and forgot about it during the writing process.
New Wesfall and Redridge are garbage though. Westfall is now center stage for a zone long CSI Miami joke that ends with Vancleefs evil daughter showing up. Redridge is literally just one long Rambo reference. Remember that one quest from Vanilla with Keshan? Well he's Rambo. GET IT? I clapped because I know what Rambo is
Westfall has some really interesting commentary about the relationships between organized crime, the authorities and the homeless population which you can clearly see after 2 Shoes is gunned down in broad day light and the 10 witnesses right next to him clam up when the authorities show up or when you first gather clues about the Fulbrow murderers and the homeless people you question are openly hostile to you either verbally or physically attacking you. The zones biggest downfall isn't the CSI Miami reference it's again the over exaggerated homeless stereotypes with them eating dirt and half of them mentally unstable with imaginary penguin friends and such but the rest of the zone is really good fleshing out each boss you'll encounter in the Deadmines dungeon and how they build the Defias Brotherhood from nothing right under your nose. The second half of Redridge is just playing out an extended tribute to Rambo, if you don't like Rambo you can skip the zone or leave the zone when you have to take the boat to go see John Keeshan.
I'd also reccomend Grizzly Hills. Establishing a foothold for the alliance and the story around the secret Worgen are always one of my favourite leveling parts.
I expected Runas to betray me the whole time. When I was told to look for him at the end, I thought that I would find him being behind the raid of the Nightfallen. I was so convinced of that that I took it as a fact. And so I was left completely dumbfounded by his last words and seeing him transform to a mindless zombie. I spend like a minute just starring in front of me not believing what I saw... and regretting my previous feelings towards him.
Tirisfal, Plaguelands... I believe they should have been up there. The whole "I was a human before dying and now even my own people reject me" was one of the most interesting recurring plots in the game, not to mention that the constant connections to Warcraft 3 lore (Arthas ) add extra nostalgia and depth. I think one of the questions to be asked in order to decide these things would be... "if Blizzard made a Warcraft 4 or a WoW2, how much of World of Warcraft would you want to consider canon and what parts do you think should be scrapped?".
I think Grizzly HIlls/Zul'Drak questline with Drakaru should be on this list. How we find him as a prisoner, free him strike a bargain,go through a dungeon only to be betrayed by him, him destroying ZUl'drak and we going undercover to work for him again and take him down from the inside. The whole experience is amazing. Hyjal also deserves to be on this list, the whole awakening of all the wild gods, Aviana,Goldrin,Tortulla,MAlone and even Cenarius was amazing .
The thing that makes Runas all the greater is he's voiced by Winnie the Pooh's voice actor Jim Cummings. Just listen for Tigger in his voice. Ah heck you've actually probably heard this guy in other works hundreds of times before.
Great list hiru! I agree with all on the list myself! Silverpine's great and I haven't even played it that much. I personally love Borean Tundra most, but that's possibly due to nostalgia.
I love Runas quest line because it really plays out the story of “just because they’re an addict doesn’t mean they’re a bad person”. As someone who has a family that’s been torn apart by addictions it really hit home.
LOL can’t say Boring Tundra was my favorite but that was mostly because I fell in love with Grizzly Hills. Didn’t have as great of a story but the Enya-like music was so calming 😁
Well, about that. I hate shooting verbally against Sylvanas, but I'm just stating the fact that she bombed her own people and turned them undead, which also destroyed the city.
The Best leveling path for a new player is to just make an undead basically. Also as to the horde bias thing. I have leveled though all of the Alliance zones for 1-60 stuff. The standouts are Duskwood, Redridge and the Southern Barrens. A lot of people say Ashenvale is top tier as well but I dont agree personally. I kinda forgot to add duskwood to the honorable mentions but it was almost in the top 10, but I removed it at the last second for some reason. I honestly dont remember why, I think I might have just accidentally deleted it from my shortlist and just forgot about it. Duskwood is top tier for sure. As for Alliance side questing from 61-110, I have done very little of that. So my horde bias will show through more for the higher level zones. But 6 of the 10 on the list are neutral. And of the 4 horde only zones I mentioned, even die hard alliance only fans would agree that 3 of them are great picks. The only one I think would be controversial would be frostfire ridge, which I probably could have substituted for Duskwood tbh.
hey hiru, you have the best background music by far compared to other youtubers, in i think nearly all of your videos you have a masterpiece music running in the back and my shazam don't seem to recognize them could you by any chance mention the names in the description?
You also have a post-cataclysm bias. Or more generally, a recency bias. Pre-cata Westfall is absolutely rich in lore and _incredibly_ relevant to today's society. It's very sad and was so avoidable, but is true to real life. I recommend it. Pre-cata Duskwood was probably the best levelling in the game for its time for a rich self-contained story of a desperate people trying to survive; as well as being one of the first zones where you mistakenly help the bad guy. The thing is, you're taking each one for how good it is _now._ In historical study that would be known as Presentism. It might be good to look through and mention zones that were ahead-of-the curve as Blizzard became better with questing. With that in mind, old-school Westfall and Duskwood were pretty incredible.
To be fair though, you can't level in Pre-Cata zones anymore, and the list is about the best zones to level in for the lore. Had the list been about just the best lore zones, then I would've agreed with you, I remember Westfall fondly :)
Mild Soul ya...first time i did azsuna i felt my heart sink as i watched runas turn withered. I main a blood elf mage and it just hit too close to home as one the first things you see in quel thelas are all the wretched wondering around with out the sun well at the time.
I just think his story in MoP was poorly written. It makes no sense he would have turned to such desperate measures. Garrosh hated how his father Grommash had been the first to drink the Blood of Mannoroth, and the direction they had him go was no better than his father, at least Grom got redemption and killed Mannoroth and freed the Orcs from their enslavement. Garrosh on the other hand really didn't get any redemption which is disappointing.
@Gizmo Mogwi IT was all Thrall's fault! Garrosh had no idea how to lead the horde and even told Thrall he could not. Thrall did not listen and forced him into the position now with all this power Garrosh only had the experiences of being a war general to guide him as a horde leader.
I liked Garrosh after playing the Silverpine Forest questline in Cata. He was more at his sences than Sylvanas. He also looked cooler than ever before, he had da nice shoulder thingies. I didn't play during MoP so i have no connection to his storyline there tho.
Ya that’s why I kinda like garrosh he’s not a diplomat he’s a fighter so everything he try to do to help the horde is only by using conflict which may sounds bad but he just doesnt know any other way
Thrall left his experienced advisors with Garrosh to help him out in matters that he didn't know about but he wouldn't listen to them anyway so yeah poor Garrosh left all alone by ruthless Thrall.
Voice actors for some of these awesome characters: Runas : Jim Cummings (also Lorewalker Cho, Tong, ..) Garrosh: Patrick Seitz Saurfang: Alan Shearman Baine Bloodhoof: Jamieson Price Tharondis: Max Mittelman Krom'gar: 404 only found conspiracy theories by Jessie Cox Jaina: Laura Bailey Chris Metzen: Almost everyone. At least everyone in classic. Klaxxi Paragon Hisek: Todd Stone Nazgrim: David Lodge Sylvanas: P.J. Mattson Wrathion: Aaron Phillips Vol'jin: Dave Fennoy Y'Shaarj: Frank Welker *Darin DePaul* Warchief Blackhand, N'zoth, Trade Prince Gallywix, Battlelord Gaardoun, Eredar Summoner Males, Azuregos, Shadowlord Slaghammer, Jergosh the Invoker, Grand Artificer Romuul. (Also Reinhardt in Overwatch, Revenant in Apex Legends and Ardyn Izunia in FF15 game and movie) (the guy is amazing and made the best parts of Blizzcon)
i love Searing gorge anf burning steppes, you disguise as dark horde and sabotage their plans and searing gorge is purely for Lunk and you will know why :)
I found your channel like yesterday, and i REALLY makes me miss WoW...I logged back in ONCE since I left the game before the Siege of Ogrimmar...I lasted all of 30 seconds before logging back out. I've been playing since rhe first week or so of BC. I was and still am well and truly burned out. But your videos make me remember what i loved about wow. So thank you.
Duskwood, Western & Eastern Plaguelands, and Zul'Drak are also definitely up there for me. Blizzard just does creepy zones so well. Anyways I'd love to see this done for classic zones considering we're so close to release.
I am glad you added Runas onto this list, he was one of my personal favorite Legion characters & I always sit through his final words every time I did the story in that zone. I even went as far as to name my Nightborne after him.
Something neat that I do like with the Badlands, that I feel are worth a mention: a little quest that has you do two mini puzzles. They have little to do with lore, but are still neat. It's different from the norm and has a teeny bit of Titan lore (more like minor trivia). I had honestly hoped that there would be more quests like this. Also wanted to point out that the only reason Jaina was able to evacuate Theramore is because she was warned ahead of time, by Baine (acting pretty much on his own and against Garrosh). Also the only reason Garrosh delayed in dropping the bomb was to cripple the Alliance navy. He was waiting for a fleet to arrive (I honestly think he expected a larger fleet). He wasn't attacking a military target, as Theramore was a peaceful port town, led by an ally of the Horde (at the time Jaina was friendly toward the Horde and traded with them). He wanted all of Kalimdor, for the Horde only.
I'd love to see you make a video like this for Classic and Burning Crusade zones. They might not have been as "polished" as some of the later expansions, but some still told memorable stories, maybe more memorable than their Cataclysm counterparts. With BC Classic newly released, it would be good timing too.
Those last lines of Dialogue are for some reason, so moving, they bring me to tears. I don't know if its the voice acting, or the tragedy of his death. I think the helplessness of his passing, and the brevity of the character adds a lot to his character. In any case, every time I finish the questline and listen to those final lines, it affects me the same way. I love it. Rest in peace, Runas. Your sacrifice touched the hearts of many.
Glad to see Silverpine on this list. I got started on WoW with a undead character in the free-to-play mode and seeing silverpine and talking to Slyvanis after playing Warcraft 3 before WoW was pretty cool.
I love levelling in Silverpine. My first character I actually ever went anywhere with (I started late... sue me) was a worgen. I loved that side of the lore, and while levelling one of my many Horde characters I ran into that side of things and I was internally screaming and practically fawning over everything the entire time because I absolutely *loved* it.
the Runas questline was my favorite in legion, I've done it four times now and I'm still enjoying it. it's simply amazing and broke my heart into a million pieces but I absolutely love it
I remember making an Undead and doing light RP with him. He did the first maybe 4 quests in Silverpine before I skipped it and going to Hillsbrad because I as a player love Gilneas and the Worgen and felt really bad doing the quests. So I played it off as my toon seeing the war on Gilneas as pointless, unprovoked aggression from Sylvanas. So when Commander Belmont asked for the report, despite being the only one with crucial information about the Gilnean Worgen forming an alliance with the Silverpine Worgen, I with held the information reporting instead that Belmont's scout who helped retrieve the info died having learned nothing.
I love that you defend Garrosh in this video, I honestly think his story in MoP was written badly, he was a really good character, and I think the direction they had him go in Pandaria was a poor choice. On that note I honestly agree about Stonetalon, the story there is really good, and it was nice to see a side of Garrosh that most overlooked.
Badlands always gave me vibes as a kid. Coming back to kargath after some quests and being in the middle of eastern kingdoms felt so far away as a horde. Loved the aesthetic
Funny thing I just finished silverpine completely from start to finish just before watching this and I have to agree. I actually realized I was at the end of the questline and was quite disappointed it didn't keep going.
as a primarily Alliance player who was simply leveling an alt in Silverpine, it’s the zone that gave me a lot more respect for Sylvanas and the original nuance of her character. I really wish Blizzard hadn’t done her so dirty in BfA
I remember the first part of the Borean Tundra questline for Alliance. That was a suicide mission during content. Was so difficult doing the last fight, had to get a group to do it. As for the WoD one, I absolutely loved Frostfire Ridge. I remember first finding the multistrike stone and slightly floating in the air and a tornado spawned under me and I'd hit soooo hard when it would proc. Was such a good zone. Spires was one of my least favorite zones because of the landscaping. Such a bizarre way to create an area, when at that time, we had no flying. Was difficult to traverse. Plus, alllll the enemies were so clumped together! And haha, classic Hiru. Have to put SOMETHING related to the undead starting zone in the list didn't you ;)
I personally recommend classic [ 'classic' ] nagrand. It's a bit of a grind at first but eventually you'll find a half draenie/orc blade master which starts the Garrosh redemption/origin storyline will start up, along with the demonhunter in the west and the oshu'gun/Auchaudine crypts narru storyline. It's my favourite for all those plus just the marvel that that zone was back in the day.
Garrosh still makes me sad. He had such a great start in cata, and I hoped he could be the harsh-but-honorable orc leader who isn't always 100% right in what he does and has to grow with the new challenge of being a leader. Instead MoP made him be possessed by the sha because he was "so evil". Bleh.
@@musicdamar583 if that were the case their only 2 real leading role female characters, Sylvanas and Jaina, wouldn't both be batshit crazy and basically villains
i think i heard he kidnapped the survivors of Theramore and made the children fight against their parents to the death so yeah fuck him Jania had a reason to be pissed i mean she had the worst kind of luck in her life
re: Stonetalon Mountains and Garrosh - I think it's actually worth pointing out that while you're correct that Garrosh was bombing a military target and all that, he had actually planned to use the bomb all along. In the same book you reference, it's very clear that he has some plan that he refuses to let Baine and Vol'jin on and we know that it ended up being the bomb because off how much time Jaina and Kalecgos spent on trying to track the Focusing Iris. The reason he bombed after a week wasn't because the bomb was his only chance at success; he just wanted to make sure that the Alliance had enough time to petition the Kirin Tor to lend their aid in defending the city, which ultimately allowed Garrosh to get traitors inside to weaken their defenses and gave them more powerful targets to hit - such as Rhonin. The whole discrepancy between Stonetalon Garrosh and the rest of his story is because of a misunderstanding. The designer of the zone thought they were going in a different direction with Garrosh that would subvert expectations and show him to be a genuine leader and he made a storyline to support that. It was too late to change after and honestly it does open some interesting discussions, but the Garrosh we ended up getting didn't really have any qualms with killing innocent civilians.
Runas and Orkus' quests broke my heart when I first did them. Right in the feels. Farondis is an awesome and underrated character. It would be nice if they used him in the future, but I doubt they will since he seems to be just zone-specific.
Confirming that undead is the Coolest race! (Best starting zone, silverpine then hillsbrad as questing zones). my favourite and og charcter was my undead mage❤️
I totally agree. I did Silverpine Forest many times, with almost every horde character of mine and never got bored. of course it tastes the best whe you're leveling a forsaken there! victory for Sylvanas!
Yeah, Rheastrasza sacrificing her entire clutch of eggs just to save Wrathion..... she gave up everything, herself included, just to make sure one Black Dragon survived untainted. A paragon of the ideals of the Red Dragonflight.
I totally forgot about that. When Cataclysm came out I went for the Quest tabard on my Shaman and was questing up every zone in the game when I wasn't killing Al'Akir, Cho'Gall, and Sinestra...so it all kinda blurred together.
Haven't watched the video yet, but I'm guessing there will either be no alliance specific zones like Redridge or Westfall (which are awesome). Just watched it, and I was 100% correct ^.^ Also both Eastern and Western Plaguelands should've probably made the list. Great zones for both Alliance AND Horde. Especially if you like the Lich King, and undead-related storylines.
Questing in Val'sharah is quite good too, from recruiting the druids to finding Mal'Furian to killing of Ysera and finding Maiev was pretty good imo. Talador and shadowmoon valley(draenor) quests are worth a try too. Also the entry quest for Draenor is amazing. Also I enjoyed questing in BFA as both horde and alliance and Drustvar is quite a unique area and I died a few times while questing there by the saurlisk with their stacking poison.
I did dread wastes while levelling in Legion, and its my favorite zone in the game. I delayed actually getting to the legion content and spent extra time in the dread wastes rather than moving on to warlords of draenor leveling.
I get you main horde... but, could've added a bit more equal distribution between horde and alliance. Basically all of the non-neutral ones were horde, and the ones that were cata-based where there was difference were "Do this on horde". For those who are alliance, here's some places for ya: Westfall, Duskwood, Ashenvale, Shadowmoon Valley (Draenor), Darkshore.
Allur who cares man. He's a horde player, I'm surprised he did any ally at all, when I watch nixxiom I'm never like "oooh why don't u do a vid in horde territory" nah, I know he plays horde, oh well love is better than all this anyway
Oh my god, I was an extreme die-hard alliance fan and had played the gilneas storyline at least 10 times. And that damn silverpine forrest quest line made me an absolute undead lore geek
12:28 - OH, the feels. I started sniffing the moment I heard Runas again. I was literally dumbstruck as the quest ended and I spent several minutes just staring to the void.
Really enjoyed this video! Do you have a recommendation on best way to level & experience all the best quest chains/zones? I see you are using the Zygor guides. Should I do the Loremaster one if I want to experience it all?
I loved the story of Runas the Shamed in Azsuna. When I first met him, I didn't trust him at all (duh, that's the point), but I ESPECIALLY didn't trust him because his VA played a character in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels, Hondo, who talks in a very similar manner. Hondo's character is basically "I'm a sleazeball pirate/mercenary, but I also have a really good sense of honor, so if you pay me to do a job, I really really won't betray you (which is completely the truth, I don't think he ever betrays the heroes while he is actively fighting for them). I assumed that Runas would be similar, in that he was only playing nice because he was trying to feed his mana addiction, but it turns out he was telling the truth about trying to help you and the blue dragons, and I went from playing "spot the foreshadowing" the whole way through his questline to being genuinely sad when he died. I think this is equal parts Blizzard writing a good story, as well as Blizzard getting a VA, intentionally or not, that added an entire extra layer of depth to the character. Now whenever I'm leveling a character through Legion, I ALWAYS do Azsuna first. It's by far my favorite zone in the expansion.
The Red Ridge Mountain was the first one I did where I was emotionally involved with the team. I actually had to pause and think about the events at the end. I don't want to spoil it for someone who hasn/t done it, but this is a quest chain that I have repeated with alts, make sure I do it when leveling new characters.
Duskwood is special in the way that it had a good lore and a complete story even before the Cataclysm revamp. So I guess he left it out because its kinda not up to par anymore in comparison to the completely revamped zones.
Western plaguelands is p fun too with the whole Thassarian vs Koltira thing, having two former allies in a previous expansion being forced to fight against each other
I love Borean Tundra (Horde). I love saving the animals with the D.E.T.H.A Druids, meeting Malygos and the blue dragonflight and finally fighting Prince Valanaar in the Necropolis.
I also suggest doing Burning Steppes?, ( i think) That zone is just amazing. Its like you go around infiltrating camps like a spy, and at the end you go around flying on a dragon killing everything!
Could you do a video on the Nessing Hemingway Quests? These are by far my most hated quest lines, glorifying the despised "kill x of y", which makes it even more galling that they continually reaper with achievements for doing them
I loved the Spires of Arak storyline so much. WOD as a whole would've been one of the best expansion if it wasn't for the cut content, the isolating garrison mechanics and the things removed instead of added.
It gets to me everytime, even while getting the sounds files to put in the video
hirumaredx I never even stuck around to hear his dialogue, and I've probably done it ten times
hirumaredx whenever I hear his dying words I always get close to tearing up
It is a terrible thing to see irl, someone starving or someone slowly committing suicide both powerful messages.

I spend like a minute just starring in front of me not believing what I saw... and regretting my previous feelings towards him.
"All non-combatants were evacuated" Until we get to Siege of Orgrimmar and find out that he captured the evacuees and tortured them.
honestly to this day I think the blizzard simply do that because they wanted garosh to be the next dispeakble bastard right after Arthas.
WHY DID YOU REMIND ME ABOUT RUNAS?! Now I'm sad again :(
ikr
F for respect for Runas... his is one of my favorite chains in the whole game. I legit felt bad that I couldn't do more to help him in the end.
Hyjal also deserves to be on this list, the whole awakening of all the wild gods, Aviana,Goldrin,Tortulla,MAlone and even Cenarius was amazing .
i agree strongly on zul drak its really underated zone :/
Sure, but Zul'drak is also the most infamously bugged zone in the game lol
11:45 ok who named their pandaren girl “HatsuneMikuX”
Screw the name. He created a pandaren!
DISGUSTING!
Me
The thing that makes Runas all the greater is he's voiced by Winnie the Pooh's voice actor Jim Cummings.
Just listen for Tigger in his voice. Ah heck you've actually probably heard this guy in other works hundreds of times before.
Olfrid, of the great clan Battle-Born. A name I'm sure you know well.
Holy shit. Skyrim too?
Great list hiru! I agree with all on the list myself! Silverpine's great and I haven't even played it that much. I personally love Borean Tundra most, but that's possibly due to nostalgia.
I love Runas quest line because it really plays out the story of “just because they’re an addict doesn’t mean they’re a bad person”. As someone who has a family that’s been torn apart by addictions it really hit home.
LOL can’t say Boring Tundra was my favorite but that was mostly because I fell in love with Grizzly Hills. Didn’t have as great of a story but the Enya-like music was so calming 😁
The only reason why I go to Silverpine forest is to hear Garrosh call Sylvanas "Bitch".
Runas i hated him at first, but by the end i was in tears for him.
Sylv: Lordeaeron belongs to the Forsaken - always and forever.
Anduin: Hold my beer.
To be fair, he was looking for peace and Sylvannas decided to kill her own people, murder Callia AND burn down Teldrassil...
Blizzard made sylvannas a bitch
@@1nuenndo Sylvannas was always a bitch. also stop drawing porn of her you necrophiliac sickos.
Well, about that. I hate shooting verbally against Sylvanas, but I'm just stating the fact that she bombed her own people and turned them undead, which also destroyed the city.
@@1nuenndo Garrosh approved
Runas is my favorite storyline by far, I really loved the character and felt so much at the end.
Ebonhorn is the only black dragon that matters

What about new azshara? It's pretty good
hey hiru, you have the best background music by far compared to other youtubers, in i think nearly all of your videos you have a masterpiece music running in the back
and my shazam don't seem to recognize them
could you by any chance mention the names in the description?
Except you _will_ be able to level in those zones.
22:31 garrosh's best moment ever
RUNAS! I kneel every time I level through the zone
Mild Soul ya...first time i did azsuna i felt my heart sink as i watched runas turn withered. I main a blood elf mage and it just hit too close to home as one the first things you see in quel thelas are all the wretched wondering around with out the sun well at the time.
15:23 I'm not crying, there's dirt in my eye! T_T
😟 Makes me sad everytime
Frostfire Ridge was great the first and maybe second time going through the zone but as I got into my fourth alt, it was horrible.
So... Garrosh did nothing wrong?
I always start weeping when I do the Runas questline. Especially after doing the suramar quests knowing if i knew sooner, Runas could've been saved..

Warchief Blackhand, N'zoth, Trade Prince Gallywix, Battlelord Gaardoun, Eredar Summoner Males, Azuregos, Shadowlord Slaghammer, Jergosh the Invoker, Grand Artificer Romuul.
Great....Still nobody found me
Give it an expansion, it won't be long.
soon :3
Between Kul'tiras and Zandalar is where the prison should be approximately.
We are taking out old threats alongside new ones like a checklist. You're due very soon.....
Now we’ve finally seen you!
Duskwood, Western & Eastern Plaguelands, and Zul'Drak are also definitely up there for me. Blizzard just does creepy zones so well.
Anyways I'd love to see this done for classic zones considering we're so close to release.
That final bit with Runas made my heart break..... it still does whenever i go through Azsuna
I am glad you added Runas onto this list, he was one of my personal favorite Legion characters & I always sit through his final words every time I did the story in that zone. I even went as far as to name my Nightborne after him.
This video was amazingly made, I have never felt so much emotion over wow questing
He wanted all of Kalimdor, for the Horde only.
lol dat arcane mage action bar
Lionel Kulcsar I was about to say wtf is that action bar, but if I'm being honest he's playing it right.
So glad to see my favourite zone on this list. Dragonsblight. From the quests to music to, the in general frozen waste. I love that place so much!
This was actually a very helpful video for me , i've been playing the game for a long time but never did most of the zones in this video.
I'd love to see you make a video like this for Classic and Burning Crusade zones. They might not have been as "polished" as some of the later expansions, but some still told memorable stories, maybe more memorable than their Cataclysm counterparts. With BC Classic newly released, it would be good timing too.
I cried when Runas died, such a beautiful redemption to his character and a bittersweet death
Hyjal for sure #1 imo. Icecrown, twilight highlands are up there too. Shadowmoon valley too. Desolace was fun too.
Every time I level a character, I always go through Eastern Plaguelands for Fiona's Caravan
What I loved so much about Aszuna was how it foreshadowed future content.
the Runas questline was my favorite in legion, I've done it four times now and I'm still enjoying it. it's simply amazing and broke my heart into a million pieces but I absolutely love it
The story with Runas made me tear up when I played through the zone the first time.
Roses are red, Azsuna has good leveling
Thank you, my friend, for letting my last few hours mean something:(
I love that you defend Garrosh in this video, I honestly think his story in MoP was written badly, he was a really good character, and I think the direction they had him go in Pandaria was a poor choice. On that note I honestly agree about Stonetalon, the story there is really good, and it was nice to see a side of Garrosh that most overlooked.
R.I.P. Runas. May your hunger finally be satiated and find peace my friend.
I think I've done all these. I'm just going to have to play them all over again to make sure. Great list!
Jade forest was great. Had a great soundtrack for questing, and its exploration getting ontop of peaks and getting the views looking out.
Badlands always gave me vibes as a kid. Coming back to kargath after some quests and being in the middle of eastern kingdoms felt so far away as a horde. Loved the aesthetic
Hillsbarad quest line is my absolute favourite. Every horde toon I make has done it. Jenny!!
I know man, same here. The walk with Sylvanas down the warring Worgen - Forsaken Battle made me adore the questline instantly.
Bleh.
Blizzard destroyed their lore by giving in to the sjw and feminist lobby...
@@musicdamar583 if that were the case their only 2 real leading role female characters, Sylvanas and Jaina, wouldn't both be batshit crazy and basically villains
i think i heard he kidnapped the survivors of Theramore and made the children fight against their parents to the death so yeah fuck him Jania had a reason to be pissed i mean she had the worst kind of luck in her life
Pride consumed him
He was a overgrown jerk face from the start. I still don't get how people would like him.
re: Stonetalon Mountains and Garrosh - I think it's actually worth pointing out that while you're correct that Garrosh was bombing a military target and all that, he had actually planned to use the bomb all along.
What about the Muradin questline in Storm Peaks?
I'm suprised that Val'sharah wasn't on the list. Ysera's storyline broke my heart way more than Runas ever could.
Runas story is just too sad :(
I think Azsuna was the first time I felt emotionally invested in a questline lol... Farondis and Runas are such great characters
I'm surprised Vash Jir (spelling?) wasn't mentioned.
This zone told a major story of the Naga and was a totally unique zone being underwater.
Confirming that undead is the Coolest race! (Best starting zone, silverpine then hillsbrad as questing zones). my favourite and og charcter was my undead mage❤️
Sylvanas:even saying his name makes my body quiver in rage
proceeds to say Arthas every chance she has
I totally agree. I did Silverpine Forest many times, with almost every horde character of mine and never got bored. of course it tastes the best whe you're leveling a forsaken there! victory for Sylvanas!
Hyjal?
Icecrow?
Plaguelands?
Desolence?
Storm pecks?
Ashenvale?
Felwood?
Need this for honorable mention
Horde always have the best quests!
Yeah, Rheastrasza sacrificing her entire clutch of eggs just to save Wrathion..... she gave up everything, herself included, just to make sure one Black Dragon survived untainted. A paragon of the ideals of the Red Dragonflight.
One of her eggs didn't die, the player gets it as a gift for helping her create an uncorrupted black dragon.
I totally forgot about that. When Cataclysm came out I went for the Quest tabard on my Shaman and was questing up every zone in the game when I wasn't killing Al'Akir, Cho'Gall, and Sinestra...so it all kinda blurred together.
That's a nice addon you've got there, a lot more immersive for questing and story telling.
Wow I'm impressed
You mentioned alliance and kept yourself from calling them children
For those who are alliance, here's some places for ya:
Westfall, Duskwood, Ashenvale, Shadowmoon Valley (Draenor), Darkshore.
Saalok's Place or you can take your stupid faction bias and shove it up your ass because we're on TH-cam and not in WoW.
Allur who cares man. He's a horde player, I'm surprised he did any ally at all, when I watch nixxiom I'm never like "oooh why don't u do a vid in horde territory" nah, I know he plays horde, oh well love is better than all this anyway
Justin William yeah, but when for example Nobbel does something that even is alliance focused, then people jump on him why is he so alliance biased.
AchillesofOblivion dont talk shit about Nobbel. He’s legit the best lore TH-camd
Saunders Fuck up commie
I love the story of Runas the Shamed!!! He is such a lovable character and I tried not to be upset when he died.
OG Shadowmoon Valley had amazing quest lines.
Oh my god, I was an extreme die-hard alliance fan and had played the gilneas storyline at least 10 times. And that damn silverpine forrest quest line made me an absolute undead lore geek
Im redoing the story line for Silverpine while lvling my Troll Alt
Hi, just dropped in to say: Horde bias!
The Red Ridge Mountain was the first one I did where I was emotionally involved with the team. I actually had to pause and think about the events at the end. I don't want to spoil it for someone who hasn/t done it, but this is a quest chain that I have repeated with alts, make sure I do it when leveling new characters.
Feel like duskwood shoulda been on there
Duskwood is special in the way that it had a good lore and a complete story even before the Cataclysm revamp. So I guess he left it out because its kinda not up to par anymore in comparison to the completely revamped zones.
Western plaguelands is p fun too with the whole Thassarian vs Koltira thing, having two former allies in a previous expansion being forced to fight against each other
Oof am I the only one who loved ghostlands lore & feels like it should be talked about more?
I’m so with you. It’s my favorite and so haunting and beautiful.
I love Borean Tundra (Horde). I love saving the animals with the D.E.T.H.A Druids, meeting Malygos and the blue dragonflight and finally fighting Prince Valanaar in the Necropolis.
What's the addon you use for questing? It looks better than Storyline
Yeah really it looks immersive
Yah it looks pretty cool!
Immersion
Alex Woolsey .
It's actually „CatchTheWind”
I also suggest doing Burning Steppes?, ( i think) That zone is just amazing. Its like you go around infiltrating camps like a spy, and at the end you go around flying on a dragon killing everything!
Love it! It makes me remember how much i miss WoW i can't wait for classic
donkykóng none of these questlines are in vanilla, just saying.
I loved the klaxxi storyline one of my favourite zones from MoP.
Could you do a video on the Nessing Hemingway Quests? These are by far my most hated quest lines, glorifying the despised "kill x of y", which makes it even more galling that they continually reaper with achievements for doing them
I loved the Spires of Arak storyline so much. WOD as a whole would've been one of the best expansion if it wasn't for the cut content, the isolating garrison mechanics and the things removed instead of added.
yes that silverpine speech from Slyvanas definitely makes it seem like she is in league with the Jailer /s
16:39 Pretty sure that's a Robin Hood Men In Tights reference where Robin helps little Jon out of a 2 inch creek
